I am a stay at home mom with 3 girls ages 2, 5 and 9. I enjoy gardening and working with plants. I love cooking and I really like being able to stay home with my children. I recently quit my part time job and am using this time to discover my artistic side and improve myself as well as my home. I really love this group and connecting with other people through packages and gifts of creativity.
I love music. All kinds of music, I really like the latest Radiohead. I like heavy dark moody music, electronica, and music with great rhythm and emotion.
Right now I am reading about gardening in the desert southwest, and about growing and using herbs. I want to make my own remedies. I am also reading alot of childrens book with my daughters. My life long favorite authors are Emile Zola, Charles Dickens, and Barbara Kingsolver others come and go but these are always my favorites. I love old hard cover books, I like to collect all sorts of old books and cook books. I have quite a few Emile Zola and Dickens books the oldest is from 1950. I especially like the ones with neat paper on the inside covers.
Death Proof is my favorite movie. I love movies; all kinds, dark, fantasy, action, sci-fi, romantic (like Garden State was romantic) not too mushy. I really like to watch movies at home with my family.
I love sewing. I am a novice and am teaching myself through various projects I undertake. I like bright fabrics, and funky designs, batiks are my favorite fabric style but I don't like the ones that look like 70's tye-dye. I like to sew alot of different things from home goods to clothes; Something that will get used and loved. I am also playing around with paper. I really like working with beads and jewelery too. I am lately playing around with incorporating beads with my sewing projects. I like all kinds of scraps, and old cards. I am kind of a packrat in that I save every usable scrap from anything (like packaging) for a potential future project, I like to reuse everything possible to recyle it. I also like having all kinds of scraps around the house for whatever project comes up.
I love bright, bold colors; purples, greens and blues are my favorites but I am open to whatever works with a specific piece. I love birds, and plants and nature themes with water, I also like swirls and stars. I really like stickers too, but not cartoon character or really cutsy, kid stuff. I like pretty, different designs, some with good sayings, I don't like catch words or slang phrases. I like classy stickers if that makes any sense. Please don't send me any Christian bible verses, or jesus/god themes. Thank you
I love gourmet chocolate, like truffles and unique confections. I also looove coffee; I really enjoy a good cup of coffee and a well poured shot of espresso. I am also into sustainability and conservation. I really like local food organizations and co-op's. I cook from scratch and love it. I'm always thinking: " I can make that ", and then do it.

maranda, i saw you said you save every scrap of fabric. i do too and recently we are making a yo-yo quilt so there's quite a large amount of circles that we had to cut out. i thought, i hate to throw away the little outside of the circle cuttings so i'm using them for packing in my packages when i mail something i don't want to get crushed or needs to be filled up. it's working great and, who knows, most of it is enough for some little snip it's to be cut for crafting too! maybe you can do the same if you don't already!
