I am a middle aged single mom to an 8 year old son and a 16 year old daughter, educator and fiber/mixed media artist.

I do not check my po box daily, sometimes not even weekly. I always rate my received swaps.

As a fiber artist, I'm into doing crochet, beading, dying( tie dye, batik, dye painting), and embroidery. Recently I got into art quilting and needle felting. I also like drawing with prismacolor colored pencils and ultra fine line permanent markers. And, I am now into ATCs too. The picture on my profile is a burned out velvet scarf that I dyed.

my daughter collects Kawaii stickers. i have to admit, i am fond of them too.

For clothing, I favor black, russets, burgundy, dark green, purple and teal.

To look at, I like bright happy colors; jewel tones; deep oranges, fuchsia, purples, dark green, teal,etc., in addition to the colors I prefer for clothing. A little pink is ok, but not too much, and not pastel. I also like muted woodland colors with mauve/soft purple.

This is an issue that is very close to home for me. My daughter has Aplastic Anemia. At present she is responding to a drug treatment she received in the fall of 2008 and is doing well. If she needs a bone marrow transplant in the future, there is about a 25% chance of there being a matched donor in the data base. More donors in the registry raises that percentage, for her and anyone else in need.
