i like cemeteries, jones soda, flannels, indie music, jam sessions, elephants and whales (and fish and birds), graphic novels, collaging, network television, tiny penny instruments, antique broaches, little oddities, and mix CDs

i'm a (would be) college student, previously an english major. i'm taking a year off to pay for the costs of education and to decide what to do with myself. i'm considering art school, and would prefer to be in a creative environment. as such, i'm both wordy and fond of images, so any stories, pictures, or a combination of the two, would be greatly appreciated. i LOVE a good story, and i'm naturally interested in most human experiences, so please, don't hesitate to write me a letter. in fact, i would love that
fazzini, grand salvo, the builders and the butchers, bob dylan, karen o and the kids, the baby skins, peter and the wolf, a.a. bondy, amandou and miriam, dream bitches, chance mccoy, margot and the nuclear so and so's, bon iver, little teeth, okay, loney dear, the long winters, wolf parade, tap tap, bill callahan, neutral milk hotel
everything is illuminated, jitterbug perfume, black hole, the best american nonrequired reads, the secret life of bees, the aviary, epileptic, capacity, BEASTS!, sense and sensibility and sea monsters
juno, eternal sunshine on the spotless mind, the virgin suicides, the squid and the whale, ira and abby, i'm not there, rock and roll suicide, knocked up
it's always sunny in philadelphia, arrested development, family guy, wife swap, scrubs, that 70's show, documentaries about people with medical oddities, pete and pete
collage, comic (and cosmic) doodles, word sculptures, pen and ink and pen and ink and pen and ink
colors: they are fairly retro: mustard yellow, olive green, maroons, deep purples, browns, etc. i'm not big on very bright colors, and definitely not neons
graphic novels and comics: ANYTHING comic book or graphic novel related, i would ADORE, including art supplies for solid black and white comic production. i always need pens, inks, paints, and paintbrushes
nature: bird feathers, sea shells, interesting rocks, anything natural or organic. i live in appalachia, and consider myself a bit of an adventurer.
indie music and film: i LOVE documentaries and horror movies, and i listen to most folk, folk punk, post punk, indie pop, and straight up rock out good beat indie music around
on a similar note, i adore small musical instruments. i play many tiny instruments, and i'm always hoping for more. if you don't play a harmonica anymore, send it to me! i have a collection!
fantastical things: anything tiny, intricate, otherworldly, or otherwise. i love "where the wild things are", most knick knacks, vintage jewelery, very underrated collections, and old things. if you have old stuff, small stuff, interesting stuff, or collectible stuff, i'm sure to love it
tea: i prefer fruity or herbal teas, but anything interesting or abnormal is absolutely fine, too. (my boyfriend found a specific type of tea claiming to be brewed based on biblical standards! ... i eat that kind of thing up)
coffee: i don't drink it
scents: not really that much of an issue with me. i'm not allergic to anything. i don't like perfume or chemical scents, and i don't wear chemical perfume. it's the same as with tea: herbal or fruit scented is the way to go. i LOVE coconut and lavender smelling things. they're both very calming to me
candies: hands down, they're awesome
jewelry: i prefer vintage things. my ears ARE pierced and i will wear jewelry if i'm sent it
to summarize: my main interests are books, artwork, bizarre teas and candies, interesting conversation, good music and anything very, very tiny and hobnobbish. i'm a glorified hobo. i'm fond of badges, buttons, bottle caps, etc. don't be afraid to send me anything used. i'll eat it up; i promise you
THINGS I'D KILL FOR:
-polaroid film. i know it's not sold anymore, but if you have any old film gathering dust, i have a polaroid camera that's doing the same
-rosaries. i like religious items even though i'm not particularly religious. i love wearing rosaries
-bottles of ink. i draw with a fountain pen. so again, if you have any laying around, i would be more than happy to take it off your hands
-a convergence of birds. edited by jonathan safran foer
-sock monkey paraphernalia. i have a collection that's never really left the ground. maybe for obvious reasons
-a spyglass. my little sister has one, and i'm insanely jealous
