Guten Tag! I'm 28 years old and live in Germany. My life revolves around teaching English, traveling, food and making art.
I've had pen pals from all across the globe since my early teen years. Exchanging mail and small gifts has sparked my interest in learning about how people live in different parts of the world, the things they collect, the food they enjoy, the art they make and the passions they carry. I will try to go out of my way to make people happy - I hope this passion will show in the things I send. I would absolutely love if you included a personal note, even if it's just a sentence about who you are and what you love.
I really enjoy sending snail mail, and even more so I love receiving responses. I would love to hear back from you (even if the swap doesn't call for it) if you feel like the things I sent spoke to you especially, or something I wrote sparked your interest. I'm always looking for penpals :) Just leave a comment in your rating or in your swap.
I pledge to rate my swap partners as soon as I receive their swap. Please send me a private message if you think something went wrong.
Please note: If you find one of the swaps marked as "sent" on a Saturday or Sunday that means I dropped them into a mailbox on that day. These mailboxes might not be emptied and the swamps stamped until the Monday after. This is also true for other weekdays after 4pm.
♥ I collect recipes from all over the world - if you want to make me very happy, please share your favorite recipes with me, preferably on a recipe card (as I collect those too!) :)
♥ scrapbook and office supplies: pages from newspapers or old books from your country, stickers (lately I rediscovered my love for stickers - anything except for teacher/rewards stickers is much appreciated!), washi tape (any, really!), ephemera (vintage or new, I'd love if it had foreign writing on it), sticky notes, pretty paper clips, notebooks, planner stickers. Lately I've been trying to improve my calligraphy - if you have any calligraphy practice sheets, I would love if you shared them :)
♥ art supplies: water color tubes, guache paint, black waterproof pens (e.g. fine sharpie pens), brushes, color pencils, art journals, tombow markers, embroidery thread, metallic pens, ...
♥ colors and patterns: I love pastel and muted colors, geometric and Scandinavian design and minimalist art :) I'm into natural designs, esp. cacti and succulents and other botanicals (I love vintage botanical designs). I also love anything bohemian as well as oriental (esp. Moroccan) designs. I also enjoy galaxy designs (not so much astronauts and spaceships but more so stars, planets, skies, ...)
♥ reading: English paperbacks, poems, children's books (esp. illustrated books/storybooks), ...
♥ seeds (flowers, herbs, fruits, veggies ...) - please do make sure that your country's customs allow for seeds to leave your country
♥ tea: I love all kinds, except for red bush/rooibos tea (I don't like the taste), earl grey and chamomile tea (I'm allergic unfortunately)
♥ postcards: You won't usually find me in too many postcard swaps as I've more or less given up my postcard collection. However, I still enjoy receiving art postcards or postcards with unique (esp. botanical and vintage) designs. If you're in the US and can get a hold of the vintage National Park postcards, I would be forever grateful if you would share one with me!). I prefer my postcards sent naked, stamped and written on :)
♥ aromatherapy: information on aromatherapy, essential oils, oil roll-ons, scented candles, ...
♥ cooking: recipes, herbs, cooking/baking supplies, ...
♥ food from other countries: snacks, chocolate, gum, candy, licorice - I'll try anything and don't have any allergies :)
♥ anything musical theater/broadway themed (e.g. postcards, vintage playbooks, etc.)
♥ (flat) wooden christmas tree ornaments
♥ toiletry items (trial size), e.g. hand lotion, soap, ...
I consider it common courtesy not to send items I wouldn't like receiving myself (such as poor quality items, broken, ripped or torn, etc.) - after all, we're all here to enjoy swapping and bring joy to our swap partners. That being said - I'm not too picky (because I can always pass on things I don't have a use for), but these are items that I prefer less:
♦ free/ad postcards
♦ cartoons characters and Disney-related items
♦ anything that smells like nicotine
♦ bookmarks (I have too many and don't really have a use for them)
♦ anything mystical, dragons, medieval, ...
