I'm a single mom - 21/yo daughter just graduated from U of Winchester in England and is home again with a full-time job. I'm an avid reader, watcher of films, writer of letters, computer guru, and artist. Born in California, now living in Oregon. Unfulfilled dreams (so far): taking a cruise, losing 50 pounds, having my art published, falling in love and doing it right next time.
Beatles. Stones. Elton John. Clapton. Boz Scaggs. Fleetwood Mac. Sinatra. Beach Boys. Sons of Champlin. Doobie Brothers. Genesis. Moody Blues. Van Morrison. Neil Finn. Crowded House. Motown artists. Most R&B/soul. Sade. KT Tunstall. Bruce Hornsby. Bonnie Raitt. Sting. Florence Welch. Adele. Feist. Lady GaGa.
It's A Wonderful Life. Gone With the Wind. The Lion King. Wallace & Gromit (any). The Wizard of Oz. Finding Nemo. The Godfather I and II. Lonesome Dove (miniseries). A Christmas Carol (1951 version with Alistair Sim). Wuthering Heights. Sense and Sensibility. The Princess Bride. Anything with Cary Grant. Terms of Endearment. John Ford Westerns. Big Fish. All the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I could write a book on my favorite movies . . .
The Walking Dead. American Horror Story. Game of Thrones. Mad Men. The Closer. House. CSI. Hell's Kitchen. Dexter, Damages, The Tudors, Forensic Files, Rita Rocks, Cold Case, What Not To Wear, Mythbusters, So You Think You Can Dance, On The Lot, French & Saunders, British drama, A&E documentaries, History channel, Biography.
I've been stamping since 1995; also love altered arts and digital graphic arts. Favorites: card-making and ATCs. I love polymer clay, melted things, die cuts, painting, metallic embellishments, wire, glass (microscope slides), and all sorts of ephemera. My style is arty rather than cute. I love to collect any bits and bobs that might turn up later in my art. Fave themes: metallic, geometric, cats, time, tea, travel, vintage, Zetti and art dolls, Halloween, architectural, pears, seaside.
If anyone ever wants to send little goodies, I would be most appreciative of any of the following:
Metallic embellishments
Corners
Textured paper
Epoxy stickers
3D miniature iterms to use in shadowboxes and altered art
Old keys
Artsy words, collage, quotes, quips
Handmade backgrounds or technique sheets describing how they were made
Ephemera
Micro beads
Teeny weeny buttons
Mica powder or paint
Die cuts / chipboard
Handmade envelopes, cards or ATCs
of these items (I have tons already):
Fibers, yarn, thread
Scrapbook paper or swatches
Tiny clear stamps
Eyelets, brads
Paper flowers
Glitter
Embossing powder
I honestly take my Swap-Bot swap responsibilities seriously. I enjoy sending out my best work and live in hopes that I will receive your best work in exchange. I'm proud of my 5 rating and will always make good on any swap that my recipient says they have not received. I rate fairly and promptly. When I'm disappointed, I usually don't leave a comment in addition to my rating.
Please contact me before giving me a rating less than 5. Sometimes life does intrude, and as I do have to work full-time at a demanding job, swaps sometimes take 2nd priority on my list. I extend the same flexibility to others that I expect from them. I am patient about waiting, but when it gets to 6 or 8 weeks and I haven't received your swap, I will contact the hostess and you and then I'll rate you accordingly.
Asian-themed cards
Stickers
ATCs or cards consisting of card stock with a sticker slapped on it - this is NOT art!
6" pieces of fiber unless it is absolutely the most gorgeous and breathtaking stuff you've ever seen and is so rare that you can only part with 6" of it
Artwork that was not created by yourself (unless the swap calls for it - and I don't sign up for those kinds of swaps)
2" pieces of paper that are too small to be used as an ATC background
