Sorry for the late posting, I'm just starting to get back to routine swapping. Anyway I though, you might need a little bit bookish happiness...

I just started reading long awaited sequel to Jennifer Foehner Wells Confluence series - Remanence. If you like nice Space opera with interesting female scientist lead and a little romantic element - you should try it. Also it has great cover art.

Happy reading! Ksenia

Interesting Book Facts:

  • The Japanese word ‘tsundoku’ means ‘buying a load of books and then not getting round to reading them’.
  • SF writer Isaac Asimov is the only author to have published a book in 9 out of the 10 Dewey library categories.
  • The first book bought on Amazon was called Fluid Concepts and Creative Analogies: Computer Models of the Fundamental Mechanisms of Thought.
  • In order to feel close to it, Joan Didion often sleeps in the same room as the book she is working on.
  • The earliest known written instance of the word ‘book’ is in a book by Alfred the Great.

Books

What KateKintail is currently reading (a strange variety):

  • The True Meaning of Smekday by Adam Rex
  • You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost): A Memoir by Felicia Day
  • Ultimate Spider-Man, Vol 16: Deadpool by Brian Michael Bendis, others
  • Othello by William Shakespeare

Long time no swap. Hope you are doing well!! :)

Pawn by Aimee Carter is the most recent YA that I have read and I enjoyed it very much. The series and the characters of the books were really good. I highly recommend it if you haven't tried it yet.

I still haven't read Daughter of Smoke & Bone though I keep meaning to, I just keep putting it off. I'm going to get to it one of these days as well as Across the Universe. Have you read A Thousand Pieces of You? I kept putting it off for a while too and finally read it and really really loved it. Can't wait for the 3rd one!!

Hope all is well with you!

Hello! Smadronia here for the CL: Book Related Profile Comment.

Like you. dystopian young adult fiction is one of my favorite genres to read. I recommend checking out Delirium by Lauren Oliver if you haven't already. It's a bleak world, but an interesting one, and certainly worth checking out. I've only read the first two books, so I can't say if the trilogy holds up or not, but the first book is good.

Hi there! Nice to "meet" you. This is our first swap with each other and this is your CL: Book Related Profile Comment. I see that you like YA Dystopian novels so I wanted to recommend both the Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth which I liked better than "The Hunger Games" and "The Treemakers" (The Treemakers Trilogy #1) by Christina L. Rozelle which was excellent but kinda off the radar it seems.

Hope you give them a try and enjoy them.

Happy Reading! Caly
