My Week in Photos

About Me

I live in London UK, with my partner and sons and I am studying for a degree in Fine Art.

I have been away from Swapbot for a while due to work load at Uni and work, but going into my final semester I need a bit of swapping fun.

Things that make me happy

  • 8mm movie films and photo slides for my projectors.

  • 35mm photo films (Black and white or colour, new or expired)

  • Having a bath (in something nice) while eating chocolate and reading a magazine

  • Having a cup of tea.

  • Recipes and food articles, cooking books, eating and drinking wine.

  • Vintage/retro kitcheny things; potholders, napkins, coasters, gadgets, tableclothes, aprons, dishcloths, old cookbooks etc. My kitchen is turquoise with red accessories.

  • Lip balms.

  • Brooches and bead necklaces.

  • Sketchbooks, stationary and things that clutter up your desk.

  • Long socks

  • Art supplies: pastels, oil paints, pencils, charcoal, sketchbooks, art books and magazines

  • Real coffee and biscuits.

  • Craft books and magazines; Japanese, vintage, knitting, sewing, kids crafts, felting or any with lots of different projects and inspiring photos.

  • Handmade things, things sewn, knitted, crocheted, glued and patchworked my you :-)

  • Birds, bees and leaves, oh! and trees.

  • Red, turquoise, grey and plum.

Favorite Music and Movies

Fav type of Music - Gossip, Gnarls Barkley, Scissor Sisters, Ray Lamontagne, Iggy Pop, Rolling Stones, Travis, indie, rock, funky stuff.

Fav Films - Rear Window, Breakfast Club, Little Miss Sunshine

Favorite Television

ER, CSI, Spongebob, My Parents are Aliens, Saturday Kitchen, 30 Rock, Numb3rs, Out Numbered, Project Runway, Masterchef, Nurse Jackie, Big Love, Six Feet Under. Law & Order US and UK.

Arts & Crafts

I am working with pinhole photography at the moment and have started to use projection to make my photographs large. I have recently brought an old 8mm movie camera and projector and an old bakalite slide projector so I am in the process of getting them cleaned up and working

I love to knit, sew and both wet and needle felting, but I don't get as much time to do them since starting my Uni course.

I am also experimenting with printing, journalling, water colours and drawing and like to get my kids involved.

Comment: Your entries always fascinate me...the string technique and the pin-hole camera images. Funny - although I taught kids for years in Science how the camera worked, I had never used one myself.

Comment: Loved your pages, I think we have the same approach to recipes! the Quiet Afternoon pics made me think & laugh and then want to play around with my kitchen utensils.

Comment: I love the ribbons and lace on the first two pages- very pink! The poem used as part of the page is very cool - I keep meaning to try and use old book pages but something in me can't cut the pages out and things like that lol. I also love the pinhole camera photos (I think) used on the next set of pages. Andy Warhol is one of my faves :)

Thank you so much for angeling the cup of tea and magazine article swap for me! The teas look great, I can't wait to try them, and your choice of magazine article was spot on! You had no way of knowing this, but I have long been intrigued by the plight of the Roma- I look forward to reading it over a cup of tea!:)
