About Me

BritishBirds ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫ ✫

badge I am thirtysomething, married & have 2 children. I work part time at my local hospital as a Ward Sister.I live in the South of England.☆ I think I'm quite easy to please & have joined swap bot because I enjoy the giving as much as receiving, If I get something I don't like / can't use I'm a hoarder so I'm sure it will come in useful someday.☆ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉

I don't mind if things are second hand as long as they are clean and still useable. I re use all my packaging. I don't mind if things are sent late as long as you let me know. I always rate as soon as I receive and only mark 'sent' when I get home from the Post Office.

Favorite Crafts

I love making jewellery & have been collecting beads for nearly 20 years! Beadwork is my main craft at the moment but I've recently been dabbling with a bit of sewing and some papercrafts.

❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄ ❄

My favourite colours are purple & green in all shades. I also like red, brown and turquoise. I like colour in general and have no real dislikes except maybe neon oranges & yellows. My favourite season is autumn.

Things I use in my crafts;

All kinds of beads & broken jewellery to take apart & re use. I love recycling!

✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪

I also love paper making, doodling, botanical drawings, pressed flowers and leaves, notecards & plain paper notebooks/ sketchbooks like Moleskine journals - I like the small soft back plain pages ones. ( I don't expect anyone to buy me one, just describing the kind of thing I like!)

I've been doing a lot journalling lately so anything papercrafty is good.

I've just made my first Dotee dolls with my daughter and can feel the addiction coming on!

I like cotton fabric, especially any small prints like stars, hearts, spirals, flowers, stripes, polka dots and tiny dots.

Ribbons, sticky ribbons, anything to do with nature especially insects, butterflies & leaves. Skulls, 4 leaf clovers, Derwent/Cumberland pencils, Staedtler fineliner pens, any 0.05 fine line pens, any gel pens, fountain pens.hand made soaps.

I love Tea & drink loads- my favourite wake up tea is Bewleys Irish tea or Sussex Blend but I also love Earl Grey, Lady Grey, fruit teas, Green tea especially with mint or lemon, echinacea tea, chamomile, ginger are favourites but I will give anything a try!

I could always do with some more recipes to prevent the WTHFDBs (what to have for dinner blues)

I love getting things by post ✉

Things I'm looking for

Back issues of Beadwork magazine or any other jewellery related magazine you think I might like.

Just getting into sewing so any kind of magazine related to that.

Just discovered the somerset magazines so any related to papercrafts, journalling or sewing.

Revolution Tea in travel tins

Anything handmade is always appreciated.

Comment: Your handwriting is cool! Complete polar opposite of mine lol. I love the doodles around the incense holes - I also love the pink blue and purple page and the little doodles on it. I have a friend at church and his daughter has DS, we went out for the day and she kept asking me stuff and so my friend turn to her and said that if she kept saying my name it would wear out - I ended up being called Tinkerbell for the rest of the day lol. Sorry for the delay in rating!!!

Comment: Thank-you so much for the lovely needle book I shall use it from now on, I love the dog on the front there are plenty of leaves for needles and pins, for your first sewing project it's great, I'd never have guessed. I use a lot of thin bead needles they need somewhere safe to keep them this needle book will be just the thing for me, also thank-you for the needles and for the magnet to pick up needles and pins that is going to be be very useful to me I can be a bit careless. I'll post a photo of the needle book on my flickr site soon, you are a great swapper and I look for ward to being a partner with you again sometime with swap-bot, with kind regards Barbara

Thank you Theresa for your BB YGM package. I hadn't heard your quotes about blue and green. The only one I know is "Blue and green should never be seen except upon a Fairy Queen "

Hi Theresa!

I can't thank you enough for a very thoughtful and generous BB YGM parcel. Those vintage buttons are superb (as is your idea for using them, mmmm mind if I copy it?) Love the medals too, straight to the icons with them. And the coordinating fabric, buttons, beads and thread are making me think little green dottee doll (whole family of little green dottees actually!) You are so good about tailoring a parcel to a person's tastes, what a great talent! I feel very special.! Thank you for that!

All the best from Kim x
