All swaps have sent out but If you haven't received anything from me, please ,message. I will get back to you.
Also, if you think I missed rating you on something, please let me know as well. Sorry about this....thanks for your understanding.
I take swapping very seriously and put a lot of effort into what I send out.
I'm Lisa and from a small country in the warm and sunny tropics called Trinidad and Tobago. I have always been a lover of all things arty...drawing, painting, cooking and now crafting.
My small family - husband and daughter together with our pets form our home circle. We've got 3 doggies - 2 rotts and 1 dashund, 1 cat and now 1 bunny as well some fish. Add to that Betty the brown ground dove that lives in my craft room and Bruce the bat that visits us every day ...i think you get the idea that I am crazy about animals. I am pretty simple and am learning how to leave my perfectionist tendencies behind me :) I am a christian. Crafting and crafting supplies are still a relatively new trend in my country. Most craft supplies come from abroad and are limited to high end retailers - but it is something i love love love and am re-discovering. My family loves Swap Bot, and we are all invested in any swap that is sent and received. WE ADORE HAPPY MAIL.
Music is like food to me....i love to learn about new music and fancy many genres from golden oldies from the 50s and 60s to calypso and soca from my home country. The music used for Zumba is contagious and it is a fav at my house.
Tess of the D'Ubervilles is a book that tugs at my heart strings...it helped me to love literature and Hardy's writing is so vivid ...the pictures float in my head to tell the story. Daily i discover the bible and together with my family, I grow stronger in God's word. My love for mysteries really stemmed from Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys and Famous Five...so now i read these with my daughter and enjoy them all over again.
I also have to admit I developed a love of magazines while i pursued my career - they were my way of unwinding after a hectic day and were often my distraction when i travelled for work alone. These are the ones I most likely to buy: Home and Garden, Family Circle,Women's Day...
I enjoy cooking shows :) Of course having a child means shared TV interests...so it means i watch of a lot Octonauts, Pocoyo, Wild Krattz. Now that she is a pre-teen, we watch spy movies, old westerns, 90s series (she is loving Walker Texas Ranger and MacGiver now).
Scorpion, Elementary, NCIS are some of my indulgences.
I am just an optimist so i do love hallmark channel (surprise...surprise...) We are also giving our daughter a "taste" of our childhood and introducing her to a few of our favourites like Famous Five, The Three Stooges, Danger Mouse and the Goonies.
I love to cook and experiment...my husband is my happy taste tester :) Also having a daughter who is allergic to dairy makes it important to try new things so she can have as normal a life as possible. COFFEE...i like ..well ok i LOVE coffee but i have made great strides into the tea zone...love fruit flavoured green teas - pomegranate pizzazz from Bigelow is my absolute fav. I like chai teas as well. I am experimenting with spices these days and have discovered a few east Indian ones that make their vegetarian food taste phenomenal. I love to learn about other cultures through their cooking methods and ways they use the same ingredients to make an entirely different dish.
I am not new to crafting (in terms of doing it) but am new to the grown up trends...so I am having much fun re-discovering everything. My daughter and I learnt about Kawaii...and have tried that. We are now discovering the paper crafts ...we're excited! Although I studied art in school earning a qualification, I am a big doodler. I am re-discovering this part of myself...I adore mixed medias. My country focuses on traditional education and so art was a bit taboo and is ever so slowly progressing out. These days we are learning about junk journalling, traveller's journals, stuffed envelopes and flip books.
First let me say, I am happy to receive anything that is sent to me with love and well wishes...it brings joy not only to me, but my daughter as well and for that I am grateful.
I am getting used to having a wish list that i share and in that light of that I have a simple list if you are able to send me something, but don't know what, I would really like to receive:
washi tape (in love with it)
ATC pockets (can't find in my country)
pretty pictures for SMASH books
die cuts (as i do not own any dies or machines)
used or otherwise craft/rubber stamps
anything that you might think we could use for crafting
thanks in advance for reading this section!
there are so many things i can name :) , but here are a few of my favourites:
colours: green, pinks, blues, browns, purples
foxes, bunnies, owls, dogs, pandas,
frogs (weird i know) but i adore them
animals in general
May 24th 2016 I live in the Caribbean and mail might be just a tad slow getting to us and getting out.
If you don't get a package on time from me, please let me know.
July 4, 2016 : we have been informed that Canada does not accept "registered mail" anymore. So anything sent will be unregistered.
July 20, 2016 : It takes approximately 3 weeks or more to get a package from my country. Going forward I will try to register every package sent (except where my post will advise that I do not based on the items sent. I will advise my partner).
