I'm caught up!!! I'm a single mom of 2 teenagers; 1 girl - Eden,16, and one boy - Landon,15. I work full time at a retail store as a receiver, front end supervisor, and general flunky/fix it person. I love my job, as I am paid ok, have weekends off, work with a generally good bunch of people, keep in shape, and get too bitch whenever I want LOL. I have 2 dogs, and a cat. The dogs are a shi tzu (Yogi)and a pom/american eskimo/terrier cross (Turbo) and the cat (Lint) is a himalayan. My son has nicknamed them and sometimes they get awfully confused, as do I!!! I consider myself a very positive person, because I try to see the best in everything, and the "happy pills" that my friends and doctor have convinced me to take certainly help to keep things sane!!! I love to cook and bake all kinds of stuff and am constantly trying new recipes. I try 3 or four NEW recipes every week. I like creating almost anything, except babies, been there done that!!! Ha Ha!!! People tell me that I am thoughtful, which I really do try to be, it makes others happy and alot of the time it's free! I tend to be a bit "over" organized, but I like to find the stuff I'm looking for. And one warning, I like to talk (babble) and it's not to hear my own voice because I do it on paper and on the computer as well, and I can't hear myself now can I???
I love 80's rock. Alot of the good old Canadian rock bands that alot of you have never heard of if you live in another country, as well as american and international bands. I used to be considered a "headbanger" back in the days, but I was a closet listener to music other than heavy metal. I like some country, some of todays hits, mostly anything with a good beat.
I love to read!! True crime, light reading detective-y novels (Sandford, Grisham), COOKBOOKS!!!! magazines, craft books, and do it yourself books. I have tons and tons of books (ask the people that helped me move lol). I did go through alot of them this winter and donated a number of them and sold others. I also like history and vintagey books.
I don't watch too many movies, all the way through that is, I fall asleep!!! I do like a good comedy, with Jim Carey, Robin Williams; some dramas, but not, never, no way HORROR!!
CSI, Without a Trace, What Not to Wear, Iron Chef, Deal or No Deal, Investigative Reports, Law and Order, Project Runway, Desperate Housewives, some sports, not "addicted" to anything, but if I need a break, I can usually find something I enjoy!
Pretty much anything crafty, sewing, cross stitch, some papercraft, painting, jewellery making, give me glue and some STUFF and I'll make something out of it!!! I don't like knitting or crocheting. Now, thanks to Swap-bot, I've discovered ATC's and altered art (I did the altered art before a bit, but never knew there was a name for it!!) I got out of the whole craft thing for a number of years due to lack of time, energy, inspiration and reason, but I'm glad to say that I never got rid of any of the supplies that I accumulated, because now I'm baaaack and loving every minute of it!!!
Pansy's, pansy's, pansy's....love those flowers!! Coffee, tea, smelly candles in spicy, fruity scents, nothing too flowery, jewellery; earrings, necklaces, shoes, love hair accessories, except for the headbands that end behind the ears cuz they give me a headache, pens, nothing too fine point, black panthers, black cats, boxers (for a friend that collects them) notepads, recipes for anything, community or group cookbooks, funky buttons, anything organizer-y, felt tip liquid eyeliners in cool colors, anchor embroidery floss, colorful aida cloth, stationary, kitchen gadgets, cupcake liners in different patterns, aromatherapy oils, spices, sprinkles, extracts and flavorings for food, candy, fancy recipe cards. Fave colors are red, and purple and green (pansy colors)for the kitchen. I am also working on re-doing my bedroom in the colors burgundy/red, browns, taupes, golds.... I like plaid, always have always will. I have discovered a love of gel pens, and would LOVE you to death if you could find me a nice pale pink pearly one or white ones, different glues (not to sniff hahaha), paper punches, rubber/clear stamps, stamp pads, I can't seem to find one with a tiny alphabet that you can move the letters around and stamp what you want, tins, I can't even find an altiod tin in this darn town of mine!!
Snakes, dragons, lizards, hmmmm, scaley things. Really florally scents. Not really into the kawaii, they are cute, but I have no use for them; people that are too serious, people that are lazy and or complacent with just barely doing enough; negative people, drama queens (except for my darling daughter, who is a teenager and is allowed to be one occasionally); people that underestimate me; ok, I'll get off this thing, cuz it has nothing to do with swaps lol! Trinket-y things that collect dust, unless they are pansy or black panther related or if they are functional.
Anything pansy related for kitchen, regional cookbooks, decorative recipe cards, handmade or bought, decorative boxes, baskets, preferably with a lid, so my cat can't snoop in them, kitchen gadgets, gel pens (white, pearly pink), glue sticks, papers, novelty buttons, trims, really wierd candy from all over the world, paper punches, rubber stamps and stamp pads, strawberry stuff for my daughter, teas for my son, boxer dog themed stuff for my friend, grape themed kitchen stuff for my other friend, a button fairy, a zine, something bento, deco tape, notecards, return addy labels :) I keep adding, I know, but I figure the more I add, the easier it is for my partners!!
I don't expect anyone to pay extra for postage so I receive things faster!! I know how expensive it gets and I'm pretty patient. Just let me know. If you are in a huge rush to get your stuff from me, let me know. I'm on a budget and try to use regular postage as much as possible. I DO keep the receipts for all parcels I send, so if there is ANY problem, please let me know!! I rate the same day that I receive anything and would really appreciate a quick rating as well. I get paranoid that my parcels don't get to their destination so like to be kept in touch with!! Please let me know if you haven't received anything after 3-4 weeks!!! I try to let my international partners know what the estimated time for mailing is when I mail my stuff, but sometimes i have a "craft" (can't remember a f@#$%!** thing) moment and forget.
