About Me

PLEASE NOTE: I live in Australia so please make sure anything you send to me complies with Australian customs restrictions as they are quite strict. If you send something disallowed it may be confiscated and I may not receive it. The restrictions may be viewed here: http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/mail/cant-mail

and in more detail here: http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=4369#e1038

Although it's probably best not to at all, if you are sending food items (inc. tea and coffee) to me, please specify on the customs declaration that the food is "commercially packaged". Please also specify the value of your package as "NCV" or "no commercial value" or I may be charged an import duty tax on the package.

NOTE FOR POSTCARD SWAPS: unless the swap specifically requires it, I would prefer not to receive "touristy" postcards but rather more "arty" or handmade postcards. This is just my personal preference so it's really up to you! :-)

ABOUT RELIGIOUS ITEMS: please do not send me any religious items. I have nothing against any religion, but would just prefer not to be sent such items. It's not that I find any religion offensive, on the contrary I'm all for religious freedom, but do not believe swap-bot is the place to be heaping your religious values onto others who may not neccessarily share them. NOTE: I have no problem with people who share mutual beliefs swapping items relating to those beliefs WITH EACHOTHER, but I think that where a swaper (e.g. me) has stated a preference not to receive such items, or items only relating to a particular religious persuasion, then such preferences should be adhered to, out of courtesy, if nothing else. In addition to that, I'm not really religious myself so I don't really have any use for religious items.

I'm an 18 y.o. girl studying for a Bachelor of Pharmacy at Monash University in Parkville in Melbourne. Some fun facts about me: I'm a twin (have a twin sister Anna), I'm a vegetarian, I'm left handed and I share a birthday with Hello Kitty!! At some stage in the not too distant future I'd like to learn Spanish. My favorite colours are purple, green and blue.

My interests include
desserts and cakes, reading, listening to music, playing piano when i get the chance, Hello Kitty, Daria, origami, German, Germany, collecting postcards and nice paper, knitting, waffles, icecream, chocolate, strawberries, craftster.org, recipe books, cute things, baby animals, travelling, other countries and cultures, foreign languages, yoga and origami.

In my spare time, I like crafting, baking, eating desserts, drinking tea, reading, listening to music, spending time with friends, shopping when I have money lol and being a "check out chick" at Bunnings Warehouse in Eltham.

Favorite Music

Almost everything, except heavy metal, hip hop, country, opera and dance/house/type of music played in nightclubs, or what I imagine is played in nightclubs since I never go clubbing lol.

I particularly enjoy rock music and pop punk type music and my favorite genre of classical music is baroque. I especially enjoy string quartet music. Also, I quite enjoy "world" music i.e. traditional type music from other cultures.

Favorite Movies

The Spanish Apartment, Goodbye Lenin!, School of Rock, Harry Potter, Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants

I enjoy pretty much any movie, but particular favorites are foreign language films and comedies. I do not like films with plots consumed by unnecessary amounts of violence.

Favorite Television

Black Books, Summer Heights High, The Chaser's War on Everything, Daria, Gilmore Girls

Favorite Quotes

"Animals are my friends... and I don't eat my friends." - George Bernard Shaw

"Unter dem Mond, dem Himmel, den Sternen, höre nicht auf deinen Verstand, nur auf dein Herz" - Sergio Bambaren (loose translation: under the moon, the heaven/sky, the stars, don't listen to your head, only to your heart)

"Cut yourself some slack... 100 years from now, all new people" - Wat Umong (Forest Meditation Temple near Chaing Mai, Thailand)

"I don't have low self esteem, it's a mistake. I have low esteem for everyone else." - Daria Morgendorfer

Favorite Crafts

I love paper! I love anything to do with paper, but particular interests of mine include making and decorating handbound journals and notecards/postcards. I'm not really into scrapbooking. I'd perhaps like to get into it in the future haven't really done any before.

Other crafts I enjoy include knitting, origami and making things with beads.

Things I'd Like to Receive

NOTE: as far as postcards go, I prefer handmade postcards or "arty" postcards, I'm not so into touristy postcards.

Paper, postcards, stamps, cute/cool stationary, origami paper, accessories (e.g. small purse, scarves, some jewellery etc). Note: I don't really wear heaps of jewellery and prefer simpler things to really heavy stuff that looks like you have a chandelier hanging from your ear. On that note, I do have pierced ears lol.

Other nice things for me would be any thing to do with trees, birds, owls, deer, Le Petit Prince (in any language, not just French), Miffy, Elmer the Elephant, Babar the elephant, Hello Kitty, Felix the rabbit (German), things to do with Japan, things for my room (e.g. trinkets, decorations etc.).

My favorite colours include green, purple and blue. I especially like aqua/turquoise/teal type colours. Also, I love the combination of brown and aqua.

I'm also very interested in human rights/social justice as well as the environment so anything relating to this theme would also be nice.

Things I DON'T like

Things I don't like include meat, spiders, cockroaches, dung beetles, apples, grapes, zucchini, icky poo brown, really 70's and 80's patterns and in general other yucky stuff. Also, I don't really like swear words.

Favorite Characters

Le Petit Prince (aka der Kleine Prinz or the Little Prince), Felix the Rabbit, Babar the elephant, Elmer the elephant, Hello Kitty, Chococat, Diddl (German)

Favorite Languages

German (can sort of speak), Spanish (want to learn at some stage in the future) and not learning any of these but just think they're cool: French, Russian, Scandinavian languages, any other languages in non-roman script (e.g. Sanskrit, Thai, Burmese, Arabic etc.)
