About Me

I'm an introverted, very quiet person. Indoorsy, catlover, couch potato. I love whatever I consider beautiful, and I like to be surronded by pretty things.

I like to write letters about books, everyday life, cultural differences and local traditions, my dolls, anything I'm interested in.

I am obsessed with cats, dolls, whatever series I'm watching at the moment, history of costume, and pretty much everything I've listed in hobbies and interests (read further)

Please don't send me anything that doesn't fit in an envelope (this is great for those in a budget, like me). Argentina's mail system doesn't have a regard for gifts, so everything is treated as a purchase and lots of taxes are added, which I can't afford at the moment.

So, until things get better, thank you but no, thank you.

If we're partners for a profile related swap, please choose things that can be fitted in an envelope. Otherwise, I won't be able to receive it.

Thank you :)

Comment: Thank you for sharing your list -- what a fascinating selection of books! And I really liked your main goal: 'to read more books from the pile than adding new ones to it'. I look forward to finding out if you succeed!

Comment: GREAT presentation! I'm glad I wasn't the only one with a slow reading month. I think the Henry VII one sounds good, and I like how it prints the rumors AND facts, but also tries to separate them--guys like him end up half real, half legend, and it's hard to keep track at this late date. The other sounds interesting for its audience, and I'm glad it benefited your piece and introduced you to other new authors to check out. So many books, so little time!
Response: I guess it doesn't matter how much we read, as long as we have the chance to read something... Some months go better than others, but even with baby steps will get far, if we persevere long enough :) Thank you for your feedback!

Comment: How unique books, it was really interesting to read about them! I would be interested to hear somethinf about fanfiction too. ;-)
Response: I might add some of fanfic in the next month, as I finished a couple that are worth mentioning ;) Thanks for your feedback!

Comment: Thanks for sharing your list. :) It looks like you had a good year for books, yes? :) My daughter LOVES Rainbow Rowell. She's practically memorized "Carry On", so seeing those on your list made me smile. :) Thanks for joining the swap! :) It's great to have you in the group. :)

Comment: Ooh, Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell is one of my favorite books EVER! I read one really excellent HP related fanfic this year, but it was about the Marauders when they were growing up in school. It was phenomenal! Now I am going to definitely follow your links and read some more. Fanfic is so fun. Anyway, thanks for sharing, and I got some good ideas for things to read. And a yearning to learn Spanish already so I can read Spanish books in Spanish!
Response: Yes! That fic sounds very interesting and I added it to my To-Read list as soon as I read your thoughts on it :) Hope you find something you like in my list!

Comment: Thank you for your unusual choice, I'm not sure I would want to read the entire book, but the article you linked was really interesting, thanks! :)
Comment: Thank you very much for your book review (and sorry for the late rating), another series to put on my to-read list on goodreads! :D Sounds like a series I could enjoy reading :) I have read Harry Potter so many times, I like any variation/similar stories :D I hope you had wonderful holidays and I wish you all the best for the new year! :)

Comment: Thanks so much for sharing your super interesting book. It sounds like, instead of meta fiction, it's meta history. Like the history of history, in a particular context. I think I'll see if I can find it. Have a fabulous year reading many awesome books in 2019!
USAFwife rated for R&W: November Reading Challenge on Nov 26, 2018
Comment: I think you and my daughter would get along well, based on your book choices. :) She LOVED Carry On, and is eagerly anticipating book 2! I've heard of Joe Hill's graphic novels, but haven't tried any of them. I don't think I've ever really, really read graphic novels. I've checked some of King's out from the library, to see the art work, but I already knew the story, so I don't think I really READ them, you know? But now I'm thinking about Lock & Key. Might have to look for them. :) Thanks for joining the swap, and for sharing your thoughts. :)
jenmcjen rated for R&W: November Reading Challenge on Nov 25, 2018
Comment: Thanks so much for sharing! I am totally interested in the book now, and will have to find it. Also the graphic novel. I love Owen Hill, partly on his own account, and partly due to his being Stephen King's son. I don't normally read graphic novels, but you've really made me interested in this series. Thanks for the caveats about the Simon book, so I won't fall into the confusion you did!

ESG: Spread some Art! profile decoration

Hello, how are you? I have so many favorite art works from different periods and different artists. It's really hard for me to choose only one... One of my all time favorites is gorgeous and naughty painting by Jean-Honoré Fragonard. It's called The Swing. I actually ha an honor to see this work few times at Wallace Collection in London. For me it presents the true spirit of Rococo period.

:) enjoy!

(So...I couldn't get the original artwork I wanted to upload to work, so I'm going with Alex Grey's "kissing"...he's another psychedelic artist who I absolutely ADORE! But, you should also check out the art I originally wanted to share. She can be found on Instagram @smallmoon_ and is an amazing young artist whose trippy work gets me right in the feels.)
