About Me

I'm an introverted, very quiet person. Indoorsy, catlover, couch potato. I love whatever I consider beautiful, and I like to be surronded by pretty things.

I like to write letters about books, everyday life, cultural differences and local traditions, my dolls, anything I'm interested in.

I am obsessed with cats, dolls, whatever series I'm watching at the moment, history of costume, and pretty much everything I've listed in hobbies and interests (read further)

Please don't send me anything that doesn't fit in an envelope (this is great for those in a budget, like me). Argentina's mail system doesn't have a regard for gifts, so everything is treated as a purchase and lots of taxes are added, which I can't afford at the moment.

So, until things get better, thank you but no, thank you.

If we're partners for a profile related swap, please choose things that can be fitted in an envelope. Otherwise, I won't be able to receive it.

Thank you :)

Comment: I don't think I've read Ethan From, but I'm not sure why I haven't ... Something to look for, I guess. :) And "The Secret Garden" is one of my very favorite books! I saw the movies before I read the book, as a child, but read the book as a teen and LOVED the idea. I re-read it last year as part of a childhood favorites challenge and still loved it. :) Also liked "A Little Princess" ,but there was something about the whole idea of the Secret Garden that grabbed me, I guess. :) Now I'll need to go look for Ethan Frome :)

Comment: You do like Alcott, don't you? :) I never really got into her books, Austen's (though my kids have to read Pride & Prejudice for school, so I'm reading/listening along with them - not enjoying it). Haven't read Jonathan & Mr Strange yet -but it's sitting here on my bookshelf - looking at me .... :) And my daughter loves Rainbow Rowell! I haven't tried her books yet, but Annika raves about them. :) Thanks for sharing :)
USAFwife rated for TBR Female authors on Apr 10, 2020
Comment: Your current female authors sound interesting. :) I have noticed that I tend to read a lot of books by female authors, then get 'tired' of them, I guess? and then read a bunch of male authors and so on. I need balance, I think! Thanks for sharing :)
Comment: Sounds like you found a good book on your TBR. :) Thanks for sharing :) :)
Comment: I hadn't thought of it that way, but I do think the working from home has been cutting into my free-time reading enthusiasm. Just so much sitting!

Comment: Wishing you luck on reading not this month! At least you got some done this month, better than nothing!
Bucket rated for TBR: In February 2020 I read ... on Mar 18, 2020
Comment: Oh, my goodness, I LOVE the cover of that book! Reminds me of a series of books my mom read when she was little and would often suggest to me. They were usually popular TV or movie characters made into a series of books, and I tell you, I can still remember the feel of those books and the paper was so rough, it was just memorable. I never really liked any of the books - they were really quite old and felt silly and outdated in a way even Nancy Drew wasn't - but I remember her 'finding' them for me. Good luck with the other 2 you are reading - both should be a challenge!

Comment: I think your list has influenced my list over the past year. :) We should probably try a buddy read for a few of those. :) Looks like you're making great progress. :) Thanks for sharing :)
Comment: Good job this month!

ESG: Spread some Art! profile decoration

Hello, how are you? I have so many favorite art works from different periods and different artists. It's really hard for me to choose only one... One of my all time favorites is gorgeous and naughty painting by Jean-Honoré Fragonard. It's called The Swing. I actually ha an honor to see this work few times at Wallace Collection in London. For me it presents the true spirit of Rococo period.

:) enjoy!

(So...I couldn't get the original artwork I wanted to upload to work, so I'm going with Alex Grey's "kissing"...he's another psychedelic artist who I absolutely ADORE! But, you should also check out the art I originally wanted to share. She can be found on Instagram @smallmoon_ and is an amazing young artist whose trippy work gets me right in the feels.)
