I am a wife and a post-modern mama of two little babes, a girl and a boy. I graduated college with an art degree and I am an educator and I an artist of no particular medium; I am pretty much a materialist in that sense. I enjoy neatly folded things in my life. I don't look like I like lovely things, but I do. I just recently started playing around with crafty ideas since my art takes up too much time that I don't have right now. I wear black, it's just what I do, it makes me happy. I have two identical black shirts that I have been wearing regularly for more than thirteen years. They are nearly threadbare, but I can't replace them. My absolute dream for myself would be to have five pairs of identical black pants that fit well and 15 shirts of identical perfect material and color that each had different collar and sleeve characteristics.
I used to listen to rock, metal and then alternative rock, but now, I only really like modern Christian rock like Kutless and though Anberlin isn't technically Christian, I like them too. I like instrumentals like crazy...weird cheesy stuff like the sound tracks to the Last of the Mohicans, Robin Hood, John Adams, Braveheart.
I adore many different intelligent children's books, Robert Sabuda and his pop-up book artistry never ceases to amaze me. I like art crit and art history books also, I like a book that engages me. Hitchhikers Guide, Smoke and Mirrors, and On a Pale Horse are good ones.
THX 1138, Northfork, Hotel Rwanda, alice, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the Cowboy Bebop movie, the fountain, Syriana, Like Water for Chocolate, children of men, fiddler on the roof, west side story, Pi, babel, the island, equilibrium. I love art and artistic films. As for television, we are choosing not to have a television in the house, but I sure do miss Lost.....bummer.
I recently received or bought a sewing machine, crocheting hooks, felting needles, knitting needless and paper craft supplies, but I am currently terrible with all of them. I work well with paints, food wrappers and garbage, sculpture is my preferred product. But I just like to play with everything. I love reconfiguring things and finding pretty arrangements.....often Haim Steinbach style. Oh, and I pretty much want to do anything to make an interesting and whimsical environment for my children to grow up in.
Cultural insurrection...that kind of thing:)

pink, excessive girly-girlishness, gothness/horror/scariness/melancholy, dotees, coffee, patriotic americana, insects, overly knick-knack-ishness, people hating for the sake of hating, perfume/cosmetics/overly-scented things, any cartoon characters, things that say 'diva', 'princess' 'booty-licious' and other words of that sort, oh and idolatry...i mean religious images and paraphernalia.
I can still appreciate such things, I just think ideas and efforts involving the above mentioned items might be wasted on me.
you do not receive a package or rating from me, please let me know. I will always send and rate, it's not at all rude to remind me or inform me if I somehow overlook such things.
