Hello! My name is Julie and I'm a 32 year old mom, stationery designer, penpal, sushi lover, photographer, writer, blogger, friend, daughter, French speaker and much, much more.

I have a 7 year old son who's creative and witty, just like his mom! ;) More about him below. ♥
I'm engaged to a wonderful man named Martin. He's definitely my soulmate and I'm grateful to have found him!
I've been into penpalling and swapping for years. I started writing letters when I was 9, so it's been 23 years now! I used to swap decos and slams, but am now focusing on letters. I have wonderful penpals who are very dear to me. I love snail mail and everything that has to do with it: pretty letter sets, colorful pens, stickers, decorated envelopes, rubber stamps, notecards...
My love for paper products + my interest in penpalling + my creative side = La Papierre! I started designing letter sets just for fun and eventually opened my own stationery shop. I love having my own business!
Here are some of my creations - you can find them in my Etsy store:

My other interests are psychology, personal growth, spirituality, reading, cooking, badminton, movies, music, alternative medicine, animals, photography, the law of attraction, communication, etc.
I usually get along really well with people who are unconventional (or at least open-minded), artists and creative folks, writers, photographers, independent but friendly and genuine people as well as optimistic and positive individuals.
Things I always love receiving: writing paper, notecards (especially letterpress), creative or funny postcards, sticker sheets (not loose please), envelopes (size A2 or bigger), things for my son (see below), etc.
Louis-Justin is 7 years old and he loves trains. He collects railroad / train postcards and loves receiving mail!
He's very imaginative and invents stories all day long. He likes playing with figurines, reading, writing letters to his penpals and sending them drawings, swimming, acting (he's in a talent agency) watching DVD's, etc.

His favorite characters / TV shows / movies are: Monsters vs. Aliens, Franklin the Turtle, Shrek, the Little Einsteins, the Smurfs, Mickey and Minnie, Thomas the Tank Engine, Monsters Inc, Toy Story, Robots, etc.
Things he would love receiving: FIGURINES! Also, little boy stationery (paper, notecards, stickers - trains, airplanes, cars and trucks, you get the idea), clothes (wears a size 6 for pants and 7 for shirts), train postcards, toys, etc.
I'm open to one-on-one trades.
One of my favorite things in the world is stationery: notecards, postcards, letter sets, stickers, envelopes, washi tape, etc.
I'm currently obsessed about notecards. I especially love letterpress, but regular cards are fine too. I also always need birthday cards!
I like my postcards blank and sent unwritten in an envelope. I'm not interested in viewcards (tourist type postcards), ad cards or freecards. I prefer cute / beautiful / funny / thoughtful postcards. I use them to write little notes to my boyfriend and my son. So "manly" postcards are always welcome!
I don't really like loose stickers that much, but always need sticker sheets! My favorite themes are listed below.
I love letter sets and I write long letters, so I prefer bigger sets with at least 6-8 sheets of the same size. If envelopes are included, that's great! If not, that's OK too, as I have several of them already.
I also love notepads and journals with decorated sheets (not plain). I prefer larger ones (4"x6" and bigger).
I recently discovered washi tape and I love it! Tissue tape & deco tape = wonderful too.
If you want to make me happy, I would LOVE to receive "airmail" (par avion) stickers from other countries as well as vintage (or vintage looking) flash cards!
I'm not really into kawaii, though I like some of it. I usually prefer stationery that looks vintage or sophisticated. But I like some cute stuff once in a while too!
I'm not too crazy about characters like Winnie the Pooh, Disney in general or Hello Kitty... I do like cute characters and animals, but not most big brands!
As you can see, I mostly like stationery, but I'm also interested in a few other things, like tote bags (for trips to the library or for grocery shopping), candy, bento boxes and accessories, (Matryoshka) nesting dolls, letter openers, gift cards that can be used in Canada, unused (Canadian) stamps, tights (size large, xl or tall) in darker colors (black, grey, burgundy) and with fun patterns (think sockdreams.com), etc.
My favorite themes:
These are things that I DON'T like and would prefer NOT to get. Thank you in advance for not sending me anything listed below!

P.S. Sorry I use haha so often. I think I have the HahaTouretteWriting syndrome. It involves constant !!, haha's, and :):):)...it can't be helped.
Happy Birthday, Julie! I hope you got your little birthday package :) and I look forward to hearing from you again soon! (You cannot know how good it feels that it's YOUR turn to write! haha!) Anyway, enjoy your day, and let me know what kind of cake you had. Knowing you, it was some kind of delicious mixture we don't have here! haha! Lots of love to you today! Jamie
You, woman, do NOT have any ugly cards hanging around, I am sure. However, if you DID find yourself looking at something yucky that you wanted to get rid of (with no guilt) I have a new swap. It's called, "Ugly Notecards, Buh-Bye" and I hope you will join me! I am in the middle of writing you a letter as we speak.
I'm posting a new letter out to you tomorrow (Tuesday), since the first is undoubtedly lost within CanadaPost somewhere. :( Hopefully this one makes it to you!
Hi Julie, I'm your partner for Alternative Penpals #2, and I'm just wondering if my letter made it to you yet?
Cheers,
Kay
Just got your wonderful package and letter today! Hooray! Love the lettersets! Your products are divine! Thank you so much!
I sent you a reply letter today (from the not quite normal penpal swap) :)
Just to let you know, as well, on this side (the US) is no longer taking mail that's to be sent to Canada.
OKay. I will wait until the strike is over. I just didn't want to get rated down for something outside of my control.
And thank you for telling me about "My Website"- how odd. I need to fix that somehow!
I'm your partner for the "Not Quite Normal Penpal Returns" Swap- but, what to do? This is a mail swap, and Canada's Postal System is on strike?
