APRIL 21, 2009: Hanging in there. My sinuses & throat are healing, although slow. Work is stressful so I guess that makes it slower to heal. I'm sending out swaps. A few may be late. Thanks for all the kind words & messages that people have sent me!!

APRIL 13th, 2009: Didn't go to work today as I am feeling WORSE than I did the day I had surgery! I have gotten some more swaps in the mail. Sorry for a few late ones. They are coming.

APRIL 6th, 2009: I am having surgery (again) tomorrow. I should be back on Monday. I may have a few late swaps, please forgive me. The pre-op stuff & work has been exhausting.

I'm the proud mom of 2 wonderful teenage daughters. My older daughter is in college (Freshman) and my younger daughter is a Senior in HS. Yea, next year both of them in college!

Love animals -- currently have 3 cats and 1 dog. Really want to live somewhere I can have a horse. That's my dream.

My favorite color is purple (my birthstone is amethyst), but I REALLY LOVE, LOVE PINK! Everything pink!

I also LOVE Snoopy and Hello Kitty.

I've loved crafts since I was a young girl. I used to love cross-stitch, but aging eyes don't allow me to do that anymore!

• Paper crafts;

Randomly, just some of my favorite things:

• BUTTERFLIES (I love the symbolism and I have a butterfly tattoo on my stomach);
• anything PINK;

• lace, buttons, vintage sewing stuff;
• the Beach (seashells, sand & anything beachy);
• VINTAGE things (especially vintage sewing items);
• glass beads (any color, shape,etc.);
• Mickey & Minnie Mouse;
• LOVE LOVE Snoopy!!;
• Hello Kitty (who doesn't love her?)

Things / themes I would really love to receive:

• LACE - lace trim or lace fabric (any color);
• RIBBONS - for sewing or scrapbooking;
• FABRICS - 100% cotton for quilts, (12x12" or a FQ would be great!). LOVE small florals. Like vintage-looking floral prints. Muted floral prints with pink & green for a quilt I'm working on. But love all fabrics.
• PINK embellishments of any kind;
• GLASS BEADS - any color or size (especially old and unique ones);
• BUTTONS - unusual shapes, and esp. vintage;
• YARNS (especially pretty & bright color acrylic yarn, I'd love a ball big enough to make a granny square out of it ... I'm crocheting blankets for PROJECT LINUS!); COTTON YARNS!
• CROCHET or KNIT PATTERNS (especially simple ones);
• FABRICS -- 6x6" for dottees or other small stuffies;
• Snoopy, Hello Kitty, My Little Pony, Mickey & Minnie Mouse stuff;
• rubber stamps & stamping supplies;
• scrapbooking supplies;

But anything is appreciated!!

I love to read. I always have something to read by my bedside.

• Love craft magazines -- scrapbooking are my favorites. I have started back into crochet & knitting too.
• Love mysteries, but NO horror, sci-fi or fantasy;
• Love autobiographies

Things I just won't use or don't really like:

• baby theme items (and young children's things like Sesame Street) (don't need yet!);
• sci-fi / fantasy
• scary things (vampires, monsters)

I have 2 wonderful daughters, ages 18 and 16 (did I already say that above??).

• Older daughter likes BLUE and PURPLE. Loves to read fantasy-type books, loved Twilight!

• Younger daughter likes PINK. Loves to read fantasy-type books, loved Twilight (yup, they have a lot of same reading likes). Loves anything about Japanese bands (has posters of them all over room), likes anything French.

They both love kitties / cats and kawaii.

You may receive a greeting card (any type) that I stamped or that I swapped -- with a note that you have received a RAK. A RAK is a Random Act of Kindness. You can send as is ... or write in it and send it to someone.

I decided it was time to stop hoarding all those handmade cards. They need to bring happiness to someone!

I am "ECLECTIC" ... some antiques, some new, some thrift-store finds that I painted. If I like it, I will find a place for it.

Favorite decorating colors go with my oriental rugs: burgundy, dark pinks, navy blue, teal/sage green.

My kitchen is a burgundy/red. Ralph Lauren color (forgot name) ... LOVE IT!!
