!Hey there Postal Enthusiasts! I am a whimsical young womyn who lives in the midwest, currently a land of skeletal tree branches & frozen ground, and a wind-whipped lake shore that feels just like the ocean in winter. I am enthralled by the art of Belly Dancing, & can often be found practicing at the local dance studio. I am also enchanted by plants, & though my garden has died down I occupy my time by caring for all of my little houseplants and creating herbal medicines. I'm part of a weekly birdwatching group, & am the youngest birder there but I love learning from so many experienced people how to find & identify birds. I spend the rest of my time making crafts & Mail Art, reading books and writing letters.
As for music, my first love was Punk Rock, some faves including The Clash, Bikini Kill, Crass, Patti Smith, Huggy Bear, Rosa, & Madeline Adams. I'm also a bit eclectic, with sounds like Neutral Milk Hotel, Robyn, Cake Bake Betty, Patsy Cline, Cyndi Lauper, Two Gallants, Johnny Cash, & even a little Rihanna at times...
I love delving deep into a good book! Think: The fifth Sacred Thing, Pigs in Heaven, Never Cry Wolf, Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, Silent Spring, Blood & Gold, Cannery Row, LOTR trilogy, Women who Run with the Wolves, Ruby Fruit Jungle, The Unsettling of America, Neither Wolf nor Dog, and currently on the Game of Thrones series.
There are quite a number of crafts that enchant me, including Embroidery, Cut & Paste- Collages, Drawing (animals mostly), Rubber Stamping, creating ATC's, decorative stationery, & mail art, and altering my clothes in interesting ways.
I am Especially Excited about trading handmade crafts! Also, I think recycling/upcycling is important- & I love to send/receive mail that has been saved from the landfill!
I love animals! Some favorites include Otters, Raccoons, Whales, Foxes & Wolves, birds, Manatees, the list goes on forever...
Fantastical creatures are special to me- including (not limited to) Witches!, Mermaids & Selkies, Werewolves, Gnomes, Harpies, Medusa, ancient Goddess figures, Centaurs, Fairies, etc.
Herbalism, Gardening, Permaculture, seed bombing, anything to do with growing plants is dear to my heart.
-TEA - all kinds (I adore homemade blends). Particular favorites currently include Chai, Earl Grey, & herbal teas (think mint, ginger, Dandelion, etc,)
-Traveling, esp. by bicycle or train.
-Cooking (vegetarian) & baking sweets.
-I'm not opposed to receiving certain religious ephemera, particularly priestess/Goddess, or nature-based matter. Regarding Christianity- I'm ONLY interested in images of The Virgin of Guadalupe, the Black Madonna, or Dia de Los Muertos. Thanks!
Please, I am not a fan of nationalism & therefore would rather not receive patriotic propaganda. Also includes pro-military & police force stuff
-If swapping food or drink items, I sure prefer organics, if possible
-I'm difficult to offend when it comes to racy/naughty themes. I don't find nudity or sexual references to be obscene, so no worries there.
MOST IMPORTANT: These are simply preferences. However, if it's all you have for the swap, please don't hesitate to send. :)
I always put a lot of effort into my swaps, & I'll send on time- if I won't make the deadline I'll PM my partner. Therefore, If it's been a couple weeks and you haven't received anything, Please just message me and I will re-send.
I consider it Very Poor manners to assign a 1 or 3 without 1st messaging the swapper to try & resolve it. Therefore, I won't assign a poor rating w/out prior communication and I hope to expect the same from my partners. Thanks. :)
I am a daughter of the water, a Mermaid. I used to live in the ocean, floating silkily among the waves and singing my siren call to those tragically amorous sailors of the sea. After hundreds of years at out sea, swimming among whale pods and exploring the depths finding octopuses and sunken treasures-- I have moved inland, along the shore of one of the Great Lakes. I rather enjoy living among humans, filling my shelves with ancient trinkets and learning the snakey wavey arts of belly dancing, but on moonlit nights I shed my earthy garb and let my scaly silvered tail unfurl and disappear into the watery depths until sunrise...
