ATTENTION SWAPPERS 01/10/17
When I started working at my local VA Hospital, I immediately noticed the beautiful glass mail chute that ran from the 6th floor down to the first floor, between the elevators. Now, I was told, "Jessica, don't put anything bulky in there, it'll get stuck." I said, "Nah, I won't I just want to see mail go down the chute." They said, "Jessica, why are you so excited about this thing?" I answered, "Because mail is fun and this is the coolest way to put mail in a box that I've ever seen!" But bulky mail doesn't just get stuck in the chute. Everything gets stuck in the chute. Please let me know, if anything is stuck, I mean not delivered and I will re-send. And from now on, know that I will put mail in the big mailbox on the main floor instead of the chute. But it's still tempting. So very tempting.
Hiya, I'm Jessica, a nurse from Texas. I've been married a little over a year. We have 3 rescue animals: Kaiser (german shepherd/boxer), Toby (chihuahua/terrier) and Priya (our chubby gray tabby). I love all things snail mail and crochet. It's always nice to find new things that are relaxing or therapeutic. I find writing letters and swaps are both.
You can always tell when someone has taken the time to prepare and complete a swap. Those are my favorite swaps to come by and always lead to happy mail days.
If ever you have not received a swap from me please message me, I would be happy to resend. If it is a package then I will more than likely have a tracking number with it, just let me know. :) Communication is key.
I really enjoy alternative. If you listen to Sirius radio, my go to stations are Alt Nation and The Spectrum. Love: Cold War Kids, The Black Keys. Travis, 1975, Daft Punk, Death Cab for Cutie, Sondre Lerche, The Shins, Norah Jones, Ben Folds, Vampire Weekend, Florence + The Machine, Kelly Clarkson, M83, Muse, Nouvelle Vague, Spoon, The Killers.
Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon Book 4 of the Outlander Series.
My father taught me the joy and importance of reading. I still get butterflies in my stomach whenever I walk into a library or bookstore. Reading is like a present you give yourself. In recent years my husband opened my eyes to the world of Stephen King.
Books and authors that I have loved: The Shining, Doctor Sleep, The Stand, anything written by Neil Gaiman, Harry Potter, Outlander series, Gillian Flynn, Liane Moriarty, Ray Bradbury, David Sedaris, Fahrenheit 451, the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, The Never Ending Story. This list could go on. I would also like to mention that I read/listen to books in all forms. Paperback, e-reader, audio. I love a good audio book, I can get twice the house work done without skipping a beat. Who am I kidding, I rarely get housework done.
If I have to pick I will always choose laughing over crying. Dramas, comedies, musicals, rom/coms but indie movies are my favorite, blame it on my dad. My favorite movies include: Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind, Secretary, Step Brothers, Annie Hall, Rushmore (any Wes Anderson), Howl's Moving Castle, There Will Be Blood, the new Star Trek movies, Guardians of the Galaxy.
Westworld on HBO and Season 2 of Master of None on Netflix
I watch too much television. I always have. My favorite guilty pleasure is binge watching Bob's Burgers. Linda is my favorite character. But my favorite of all shows has to be Rectify. There's never been a show like it. I always love a good show recommendation, so bring it!
Other shows I've watched and loved: Mad Men, SOA, Six Feet Under, Breaking Bad, The Killing, Better Call Saul, Downton Abbey, Fargo, Archer, How I Met Your Mother, Transparent, Red Oaks, Outlander, Penny Dreadful, Broadchurch, Sherlock, The Fall, Stranger Things.
