Kokopelli

Hello! I'm a 54y/o retired government worker who loves crafts. I mostly am doing paper crafts and crochet at this time. I make lots of cards, but enjoy trying out new forms of paper crafting (like ATCs, inchies, etc.) I have also become addicted to Dotee Dolls! Just love making them!

I have been married for 30 years and we have a grown daughter who is a teacher. I live in Abilene, TX, considered to be West Texas. We are active in our church and love to travel when we can. We are especially partial to the mountains of Colorado and Arkansas.

I have three wonderful cats that keep me company during the day. Two guys - Dex and Jax and one sweet girl - Bella. They are just so much fun and we just spoil them rotten. All five of us pile into our king-size bed at night!

THINGS I ENJOY DOING:

I love doing crafts. As I said above I'm really into paper crafts. I also love to crochet baby afghans. I enjoy counted cross stitch although it is getting harder for me to do it as my eyesight isn't as sharp as it used to be and I have carpel tunnel syndrome in my wrists. I like to experiment with new craft ideas.

I love to read romance novels. Not the trashy kind, but tamer ones with happy endings. I like suspense romance novels, too. I don't have much time to read and end up looking at more magazines than reading books.

OTHER FAVORITES:

Animals - Cats!!! I absolutely love cats. I guess I'd have a house full of kitties if it were possible.

Music - Southern gospel music is my favorite.

TV - Just about anything on the HGTV channel, The Mentalist, Criminal Minds, The Closer, The Cleaner, Burn Notice, CSI-NY, CSI-Miama, Army Wives, The Unit, 24, almost all reality shows (like Next Food Network Star, Next Design Star, Hells Kitchen, Chopped, Chopping Block, Survivor, Project Runway, Shear Design, Amazing Race, Big Brother, etc.) I have also watched the same soap opera since I was 15 years old (remember I'm 53 now!) - All My Children.

Colors - Pinks (all shades), purple (most all shades), turquoise, lime green, periwinkle, blue (clear, bright, light colors - not dark colors), black in small amounts. I like fall colors for crafting. I like southwest colors for decorating (like earth tones with turquoise, purple, etc.). I don't guess I'd say I hate any particular color.

Holidays - Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter

Seasons - Fall and Spring

Collections: Snowmen (but only cute ones - none that are garish, clowns, etc.) Kokopellis (Indian flute player), Southwest windchimes (and most others that are unusual). Sentiments, quotes and ponderisms. Rocks for the yard. Chili pepper things (red mostly, but green too).

THINGS I DON'T LIKE:

Traits - Lying, rudeness, cursing, bullies, snobs, superficial people, and people who don't keep their obligations.

*Having to rush or be late

*Messy house, but of course I don't really like cleaning house! LOL!

*My hair - too thin on top. I have about three hairs!

*My weight - ugh!

*Cooking...sigh...

WISH LIST ITEMS:

Western themed anything!

Ribbon - patterned only please. I have tons of solid colors. Need some??

Buttons - unusual or bright colors/shapes. Have plenty of the regular 4-hole every day color buttons.

Charms - metal, clay, etc.

Fibers - for dotee hair

Beads - any color glass beads or ceramic/clay beads (nothing too large to use as a charm)

Embellishments - for cards. Just about anything that is cool looking. Flat stickers - not so much. 3-D is good.

Flowers - Prima, paper, etc.

Anything KOKOPELLI related. A Kokopelli is an American Indian flute player/medicine man. I just love the abstract look of the kokopelli.

Fabrics - especially bright, colorful prints. Love hot pink, lime green combination. Also like oranges and turquoises. Pretty much any size is okay.

Altered items - I love seeing what others find to alter!
