About Me

Hello! I'm Michele and started quilting in 2007. The bug bit me thoroughly! I'm now venturing into other sewing and crafting projects to expand my skills.

I live in Central Florida right next door to Mickey Mouse. I am married to a wonderful guy and have two teenagers who are both funny and crafty. Bones, our miniature dachshund completes the family.

I am a graphic designer and own a small firm. I like designing logos, brochures, flyers, and producing promotional items for events. There's just enough work to keep me in fabric, notions, and food!

Favorite Crafts

Quilting, Small Sewing Projects, Aprons, Anything involving fabric! Fabric selvages! My fabric weaknesses are food prints, Japanese, batiks, 1930s reproduction, novelty prints and anything loud! I love to paint using watercolors, acrylics and oils. I'm only learning to express myself through paints. Paper craft intrigues me too. My daughter and I enjoy making ATCs together. She's quite good!

I also love to cook! I'm always trying new recipes and could read cookbooks and recipes all day long. I love grilling year round with both gas and charcoal.

Favorite Music

I love all types of music: pop, country, jazz, and some classical. I'm not crazy about rap or techno.

Who I'm enjoying right now: Jason Mraz, Rob Thomas, Pink, Jesse James, Kenny Chesney, Jimmy Buffett.

Favorite Television

Burn Notice, Rescue Me, Grey's Anatomy, The Practice, Top Chef, Flash Forward, and anything on The Food Network.

Likes/Dislikes

I'm easy to please. I love handmade items, anything vintage, art, music, anything related to cooking and food, softies, anything Japanese, beads, fabric (vintage and new), fabric selvages, pens, pencils, stationery, notepads, note cards, stickers, fun office supplies, tiny stuff, aprons, small quilts, fabric trims, and other sewing items. Or just make me something. I'll love, love, love it!

Chocolate doesn't travel so well here. It's hot in Florida! By the time it sits in my postman's truck and then my mailbox, it's a little gooey. Still good, but gooey!

Dislikes: mean people, snakes and frozen lima beans.

Comment: Love watercolours as well, though I've put away my real brush for my virtual one (see Bard Judith at www.santharia.com) these days. Michelle! Your SECOND ATC came in this afternoon for me. The watercolour arrived along with everyone else's stuff last week (Nov 4, I see, looking at the ratings) - but this ATC is even more adorable, with the little rainbow of quilt pieces on it.
