UPDATE::: I will be away from swap-bot for about 2 months. I had emergency heart surgery and am at my moms rehabbing :)
I am an Indiana gal but of southern heritage. I'm not a "country girl" but love all things tied to southern hospitality, food, entertaining etc. Savannah Georgia is my favorite place to travel. From the brick streets to the flower lined squares, I am at peace there. I am an old soul. Not into mainstream anything really. Even as a kid I would spend my whole allowance at thrift stores or tag sales. I love all things vintage including sepia toned photographs, mismatched china, chipped paint. I had a house full of vintage/antique items stored by the time I was 18. It's my passion. Along with the above mentioned things I am a Christian. I am a daughter, a sister, a manager, a poet, a wanna-be-artist etc. etc. etc. I am quirky. I drive a Wasabi green Scion, I have a pug named Poe (after Edgar Allen) and I love sushi. I collect no certain "thing". I do love rhinestone or enamel brooches and old glass or mother of pearl buttons. I travel quite a bit around U.S. cities. Each time I travel I seek out 2 things: a sushi restaurant and a bakery. My dream in life would be to own an old fashioned feeling bakery using family recipes and organic products.
I can't pick 1 favorite genre of music. I was raised in the 70's but grew up to Big Band and Swing with my grandparents. My music collection is pretty whacky...I have everything from Aerosmith to Classical. I guess it just depends on my mood and what I am doing. My mom has also given me a HUGE appreciation for old gospel music. Johnny Cash would have to be my #1 favorite artist ever!!
Well...I have to be honest here. I am NOT an avid reader of anything other than magazines. I love Someset Studio, Cloth, Paper, Scissors and Where Women Create the most. I collect old books of quotes and love poetry books of any kind or age.
I don't really consider myself a movie person. I really don't sit down to do much other than craft. (although I craft in front of the tv....I like tv because it usually does not matter if I miss a few minutes here or there while I fiddle with a project) I do love old black and white movies, comedies and thrillers. I usually tune into the music channels or cooking if I need a quick tv fix.
I tend to watch things that take very little attention...game shows, make-over shows etc. When I feel like sitting down and paying attention it's usually Bones/House/Cooking shows (I am a foodie!) I do follow American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance each year
ohhhhhhhhhhhh wow! This is a tough one! My dad was an artist at heart and my mom is a professional seamstress. I fall someplace in the middle. I like mixed media crafts the best and tend to make things in vintage style. Paper crafts of the "vintage to antique" category would be my favorite. I don't have favorites of any brands of paper or fabrics but tend to gravitate towards creamy, dreamy, floral or textured things. I just buy what I like really. I like assemblage arts, sweet felt projects, flower and button projects. I don't make jewelry but use beads in my collage work. I am not into kawaii, "cutesty" or licensed character items in any way but do appreciate the artistry in them. I don't usually buy primary colors for art but wear them in my daily life.
10 random favorite things I love: sugar cookies with royal icing, felt, vintage looking rabbits (like the Velveteen), flowers, soft colors, pattern, vintage...vintage and MORE vintage, quiet leopard print, paper, tall glasses of lemonade with cherries dropped in, 10 Things I would love to get: paper, glue..glue dots, Old bingo cards, rhinestone or glass looking broken jewelry, de-stash....any bits or baubbles, (I know most people don't like it but I do!! It is like getting a grab bag as a kid. I always purchased a grab bag at our 5 and Dime when I was a kid!!) anything felt, I heart handmade cards & anything made with love, ANYTHING PINK, small metal findings, recipes!! I love dessert recipes especially anything to do with fruits or pastries!
10 things I would NOT love: anything to do with bats...I am terrified of bats, black licorice, musky scented things. (love things that smell sweet like vanilla, sugar cookie). Licensed character stuff in general really. Hmmmmm...well I don't have 10 things. I am pretty laid back. As long as something comes from the heart I will love it! That sounds so lame but I really am a bohemian/eclectic type person.
I am not a picky eater at all. Italian food, spicy foods, sweets (cookies) are wonderful. I love dip mixes, drink mixes and gum. I am never without gum. I prefer fruity or caramel over other candy bar type treats. I prefer fruit, green veggies and pasta over meat and potatoes. Vanilla, cherry, orange and lemon are my favorite flavors. I like smarties, gummy candy anything fruit flavored. Haribu? Not sure how it is spelled. I have NO store in my town that sells Haribu gummies :(
I try to send all swaps within 2 days of being assigned. If I join up for a swap and something comes up I will drop rather than be late or to rush through and not do my best. I will always rate and hope you do the same. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE YOUR SWAP PLEASE CONTACT ME PRIOR TO RATING! I DO NOT FLAKE I WILL RESEND.
When I first joined Swap-Bot I thought it was selfish of me to tell people what I "wish" for. Then I got the hang of it and realized how fun it was to "shop my stash" for some of the profile based swaps. So here goes:
1) Paper scraps (ATC sized is plenty big enough for me) I don't use vellum because I can't find a good way to adhere it...any ideas? 2) Anything old and rusty. I even use rusty bolts and screws in artwork 3) Scraps of fabric. I especially love felt! 4) Haribu gummies (I just found out about this yummy brand). I also love smarties and dried fruit. 5) Small brown paper bags. I found some once and can't find them again. 6) Vintage (1960 or earlier) stuff or reproductions in the same style. Anything vintage...old magazine ads, sheet music etc. 7) Cupcake liners, toppers, anything bakery related 8)Any little bits or baubbles, broken jewelry etc. 9) Anything made with crazy quilt pattern. Needlebooks....brooches etc. I adore cRaZy quilting!! 10) Cherubs...I love cherubs!!! Not kiddie looking angels but the kind you see at Christmas usually done in gold or solid white.
