I'm sorry if I am a little behind on rating swaps but I have been bed ridden for a week with high temperatures etc then to top it off two days ago a major storm hit and we lost 6 trees, phone and power for a day we are the lucky ones my prayers go out to all the residents of the Gap and the owners of the other 4,000 homes damaged.
A busy stay at home Mum of 3 very active pre-teen boys. I have a love of all things girlie, pretty, vintage and handmade.
Please let me know before you rate if you haven't received a swap that you were suppose to get from me, I don't like letting people down and intend to always get swaps out either early or on time, but being in Australia it might take a bit longer to get to you, and sometimes things do go missing in the post, so please let me know so that I can fix the problem.
I love working with paper, a scrapbooker for 4 years although haven't had much time for it of late, too busy making other things.
Can't sew or don't have the patience to, but love all things embroided, crochet and quilted.
I'm not scared to use a few power tools too, although I don't normally make things from scratch I have been known to alter things to fit what I want. eg the birdhouses in my picture above, made from a moneybox and tissue box.
I must admit, I'm addicted to Christmas, that time of year is a big big deal around here. Planning normally starts in July with card making and invites made to our annual Christmas party in December. I like to make alot of my decorations which normally go up in October I know it sounds a bit early but I like to be organised so that I can relax and enjoy the Holiday, plus that then leaves all of November to hang our lights outside.
I have joined the postcard swaps for my 9 year old son David who has just started collecting them. He likes the tourist postcards with animals, sports any interesting buildings or places on them, any postcards showing your city or town or local landmarks, if you could address the postcards to him and write a quick little note on them for him it would make his day. Also one of my older sons Steven who is 11 years old collects stamps so if you could put the postcard in an envelope with some stamps on it that would make him happy too.
My wish list - vintage wallpaper scraps, black and white or sepia vintage portrait photos, vintage millinery flowers, small bottlebrush Christmas trees, any vintage jewelry, vintage sheet music, wooden scrabble tiles, Romantic Country magazine (any issues) These above items are all really hard if not impossible to get around here.
My sons also collect - Eldest Aaron 13 collects anything to do with Rugby League Football (Big Brisbane Broncos fan)or anything sports related, the secound Steven (11) collects all things military or Army memoriblia and all different stamps. and the third David (9) collects medieval knights and dragons (but nothing to scary looking) and is the one that is now collecting postcards. Anything for them would be greatly appreciated.
When it comes to my craft items, I mainly love soft pastel colours, pretty pinks, baby blues, soft purples etc.
Love all of the following - Glitter, vintage jewelry, doilies, anything that sparkles, bone china, roses, cupcakes, shabby chic, french country, beads, pearls, lace, ribbons, Marie Antoinette (and fashion from that era),
I have just discovered inchies and ATC's, and love them.
Magazines- Love Romantic Homes, Romantic Country, Victoria etc
My Dislikes or things that I don't need - Anything to do with coffee or coconut (foodwise or smellwise), Kawaii, anything Disney or cartoon related, Halloween or death related.
LOST, Supernatural, any decorating or gardening shows, there are a few others that I like to watch but don't HAVE to.
Hate anything to do with the Simpsons, South Park etc (yuck!)
The Notebook, The Man from Snowyriver, All the rivers run, (both Aussie movies), or anything to do with Australian history and romance. eg Thorn Birds although the book was better than the mini series.
I would like to thank you in advance for anything that you send to me, I'm totally enjoying this experience and meeting lots of lovely talented and interesting people.
