About Me

I am here primarily to swap postcards; I have been a collector for many many years. My collection was originally started over a hundred years ago by my great-grandfather.

I hope you'll come visit me at my websites (listed above)!

Postcards!

For postcard swaps, I prefer standard-sized (about 3-1/2 by 5 inch) postcards, but those are often hard to come by nowadays. Continental-sized cards (about 4 by 6 inches) are great too, but I would prefer if you didn't send cards any bigger than that. The subject matter is up to you! Of course, it's hard to go wrong with postcards featuring pretty girls. Not a requirement, just a suggestion. :) I also like vintage cards (or reproductions of vintage cards, posters, etc), or cards related to clocks, humor, or the mail/post itself. If you don't have something that fits into these categories, don't apologize; just send me something that you like, and tell me why you like it.

Miscellaneous

I also play several musical instruments, poorly; I have a library of books that rivals my collection of postcards in terms of numbers, but is not nearly as easy to store.

Comment: Great job on the envelope (and your MPP)! Man, your new typewriter is so sharp. I'm sure its partly the ribbon (I have to get a new one before I can do my letter), but I wonder if electrics tend to look more crisp. I have to get used to my manual typewriter every time - it's so physical after typing on a computer keyboard all day. I, too, learned on a Selectric. Then I got lucky - my parents scored a used one for me from 3M company when they sold a bunch of them. Truly the Cadillac of typewriters. I got rid of it a while ago - maybe 10 years. But after years of mourning the loss (I never used it anymore, but I MISSED it), I have gotten a small Smith-Corona Skyriter travel typewriter. It's totally encased in metal and very small, so I can have a typewriter, and some space too. P.S. I'm putting your letter in a pile for responses.

Comment: Thanks for the card! You got overcancelled. When I dropped mine off this morning, the postal clerks asked me how often I am successful in getting one thru. "Not very," I had to answer. They say that most every "first day of issue" card they see now is cancelled, then sent in a cellophane envelope. I really don't want to do that cuz then it's NOT a postcard. Oooo - I just noticed your "Par Escargot" stamp and added a heart for that. Bon Stampetite!
Response: There's one postal clerk who just doesn't get it, and tosses my mail in with the pack though I ask him not to. Another sample en route to you.
