About Me

If you're sending me something from outside the EU, please put a customs declaration form on the envelope stating the contents, even if it's just an envelope that's a bit thicker than normal There are no strict customs restrictions for Germany but if it's not clear what's inside they often check contents and this results in very long delays. The German post is working really fast and efficiently but undeclared envelopes can take around six weeks going through customs. Thanks a lot!

Some things you should (or may want to) know about me:

I'm married and mum to a wonderful son. I love communicating with people and swapping things and I'm an avid Postcrosser.

I love to read, especially thrillers and chick-lit novels, but I also like books that make me laugh and travel reports.

In my freetime I enjoy crocheting (mainly blankets, caps and scarves), cross-stitching and baking. I love trying out new recipes, both for baking and cooking. I also just caught the sock knitting bug and can't seem to stop :)

In the summer I go swimming (almost) every day - never in the winter, though, as I actually like cool water and indoor pools always feel too warm to me. I need the open air!

I do love winter, though, and snow, and Christmas! I'm never too happy in the summer when it's hot and humid.

Please note that I'm an atheist and therefore I've no interest in any articles with a religious theme or symbols. However, I am interested in your views and I respect all religions, believes and non-believes.

My sock size is 39 EU/8 US.

Favourite colours are all kinds of blue, light green, dark pink.

Comment: Thank you so much for the lovely PC of the cathedral in Worms. I didn't know it was the sunniest and driest - love German wine! I have visited relatives in Kaiserslautern area, the weather reminded me of Wisconsin, where I live! I can't get over the history in Europe! We just saw the oldest statehouse still in use in the US - built in 1772-1779... I took a pic of it! hahaha! Thanks again!!!!

Comment: Holly cow, that's an old city. Living in the western part of the US as I do, most "old" things around here are maybe 150 years old. Thank you for the lovely card and the history lesson!

Comment: Thanks for the weather card! I have not been to Worms; I did not even know it was one of the oldest cities in Germany - 1181 - wow! America hadn't even been discovered yet! You are having nice weather just like us; I have often said that Germany reminds me of Wisconsin (and vice-versa)! I haven't heard the saying "old women' summer" hahaha! Happy swapping!! Thanks for the card!!

Comment: Super cute postcard! I used to make fancy cake pops on the side until the demand was too much to keep up with on my own. I love that you live in a wine-growing area. I've always thought vineyards were so pretty. That cake looks really good, I'll have to try it sometime! Have a good day! <3

Comment: Thanks for the lovely postcard. This Summer most days are above 32c. Also the wind never seems to stop. Pistachios grow well here and produce enough for commercial sales. We have an almond tree but it's young. I hope you have a lovely day.

Comment: Thank you for the card. I don't know if I'd like a book set on a cruise ship--I always think that the worst thing about a cruise is coming down with food poisoning or those other diseases. Susan (brooklynbunch)

Oh wow you really have seen a lot of Ireland!! Actually 2 summers ago dad and I flew to munich. We rented a car and drove to Berlin, staying in different towns along the way. We drove off the beaten track and had such an adventure :) have a great Saturday! Ireland will be waiting ;)

Hello Yvonne, I just read your profile and saw your 3 rating. "nats to her" that's all I gotta say. This site is for fun and not such things. I know we all have our opinions, I just wished others would realize how much their words hurt people before they spoke/wrote them. Wishing you a blessed day in spite of the world. God bless you-Ellie :-)
