I am a homeschooling mom of 8 living in the country-way up north in the Tundra and playing farmer in my big garden and with my various livestock, including a Dexter cow, Newfoundland dog, Sebastopol geese, a beehive and various chickens and cats. I love fun vintage whimsical textile prints and ceramics in my work areas (kitchen, laundry)I have bright gingham aprons at my windows and animal shaped pitchers and creamers that I fill with wildflowers in the summer. My bedroom is soft blues and antiqued gold-lots of candles. My living and dining rooms are garnet with earth tones and more candles. I collect depression glass and Holt Howard roosters and pixieware (esp spoofy spoons) I love the interesting and unusual. I hate plastic and "modern" cookie-cutter anything. I cook A LOT, bake A LOT, garden A LOT, and CAN/FREEZE A TON!!
UPDATE: I have just signed up for a feedsack quilting class!! I can't wait-my new fav thing is tiny old-fashioned feedsack style print fabrics-even little pieces-since the more color the better for my masterpiece-to-be!

Arthur Conan Doyle, The Mrs Polifax mysteries, Agatha Christie, C.S. lewis Space Trilogy, Brian Jaques Redwall and Castaways series, any Dummies series books!, Isaac Asimov, Anne McCaffrey dragonriders series, The Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Anderson, Mother Goose.
HUGE Dr Suess fan! and of course--number 1 the Bible-I like to find neat old copies of Bibles and hymnals too.
sewing (basic and stuffed animals),counted cross-stitch, crochet, ministeck mosaic, Matchitecture, embroidery on prequilted blankets, sequin Christmas ornaments. I have recently discovered I make a pretty mean Amigurumi-and have a blast doing it! I recently aquired a spinning wheel that I have yet to conquer but it looks really good in the corner!
glass beads-all sizes;sewing notions, yarn-esp unique blends or varigated or eyelash types, peaches and cream-type cotton yarns--all colors!, hand crochet pot-holders or dishcloths (the small shaped ones), tea,hot cocoa, nifty unique glazed pottery or ceramics, napkins (cloth and paper and rings for them, old pin cushions-all types, old needle cards, ribbons, lace, buttons-esp shaped ones, seashells, handedged hankies, bubblebath, bath bombs, fizzies etc, candles-not food scented though!, doilies, pepprigefarm cookies and goldfish, unique chocolates, pop-a-point pencils- new cool crayons, geometric coloring books, sudoku and logic puzzles books. I cna always use practical things like canning jar lids and rings (new of course)-love those pretty ones but mostly have the generic plain ones! I like honeybee items and unique chickens--also HAND-KNITTED items like cool socks and those cute apple jackets/sweaters-I love those! DARRELLLEA LICORICE (the soft black kind) Vegimite!! I might like dottees too-never met one in person to know for sure. !!! Fabric pieces in tiny old-fashioned bright but faded-looking prints!!!!
NEW ADDICTION ALERT--BENTO!! -esp recipes and ideas and cool tiny gadgets gadgets gadgets!!
papercraft items like paper, sticker, stationery etc. cute is cool--cutsie is not so much--and I know it's a fine line ;) retro or vintage cute animals are cool--cartoony-Hello Kitty ones-I could do without! Barbie and all her ilk disturb me a great deal. Please no disney or other cartoon or copywritten characters like power rangers etc etc and I tend to take God very seriously and find that most "things" people have/give religeon/angel/Bible wise are not reverent enough for me-I am much too hard to please in this one area for anyone to even try! ( a real Bible from a thrift store etc is always wonderful though-not a modern "take" on the Bible)
