I am an avid beader (been doing it for about 3 years). I have also been photographing for over a decade. I currently exhibit at the Lost River Craft Cooperative in West Virginia. My website also shows some photos (but no jewelry yet...). I work full-time as a manager of a group of scientists and engineers for the federal government near Washington D.C. I am 39 years old. My husband and I like to boat, go traveling (have been quite a few places around the globe already), and we also spend an inordinate amount of time at local happy hours...
Cats, frogs, fish, boating, traveling internationally, science fiction/fantasy, history/archaeology
jewelry (as i make my own, I have enough)
food items (I keep trying to diet, so please don' send food)
anything designed for use in the snow/cold (it doesn't get really cold here - but hand-crafted scarves are OK)
really "cutesy" nick-nacky stuff - unless hand-crafted (then it's great! if you made it yourself because I think that is really cool and I love handmade stuff of all types). Lately I have really been enjoying learning how to make goddess dolls, stuffies and dotee dolls.
Just about anything (except bluegrass and country...and I'm not real crazy about rap either).
Anything by Guy Gavriel Kay, most sci-fi/fantasy, historical fiction, history books, travel books, folklore.
Gladiator, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Star Wars movies, Star Trek movies, Titanic, Chronicles of Riddick, Batman movies, The Joy Luck Club
Anything on the History, Discovery or Travel channels, Dr. Who
Jewelry-making, photography, and I've just started making dotee dolls and stuffies!!

archaeology-related items (books, postcards, leaflets from archaeology sites)
fossils, pretty rocks
makeup (mascara, eye shadow, lipstick, blush - I do NOT need moisturizer, foundation, lip liner or eyeliner, lip gloss/balm (except that my husband uses Carmex in the little screw-cap container))
bath products (I really like facial scrubs and bath gel, and will use bubble bath or oil, but usually don't buy those - I don't use shampoo/conditioner, unless it's safe for hair color)
local/ethnic arts and crafts
things for my work office
books about other cultures/countries/history
african art and carvings
american indian stuff
beer-wine-scotch themed items
