I will always send within the allotted time, but if something gets in my way, I will let you know. If you have not received within an acceptable timescale (and please note I am posting from the UK) please let me know and I will resend the parcel. I always aim to rate within 24 hours of receiving, but if I miss something, please feel free to nudge!
Hi, I am married to the most amazing guy, who is very tolerant of my crafting habits. We do not have children, but have 3 gorgeous cats whom we adore and spoil rotten. We currently share a house with my aunt, who is also tolerant of finding bits of fabric and paper in random places - luckily! I work for the local council in Human Resources - I love the people and hate the job, but it does allow me to pay for my crafting! Love to cook for my friends - feeding people makes me happy. Most of my friends will tell you that I am the most random person and frequently go off on a complete tangent in the middle of a conversation. I love sending and receiving postcards and have recently joined postcrossing.
Love pretty much anything except heavy metal. Tend to listen to music mostly while driving and I am currently listening to: Amy McDonald, James Blunt, Will Young, Jack Johnson, Newton Faulkner and KT Tunstall. After a particularly long day at work, Tracey Chapman is the preferred company on the drive home.
Will read pretty much anything except horror. Some of the authors I go back to time and again (and I do re-read books over and over) are Diana Gabaldon, Jean Auel, Jodi Picoult, the Harry Potter series and James Patterson. Once I have a book, I find it very hard to part with it, so much so that hubby is getting a little fed up with all my books - good job he loves me so much! I loved the Twilight series. I am currently working my way through the Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris, as I am loving the True Blood series. Also just about to start the House of Night series.
Anything with Vin Diesel or Jason Statham. Sci-fi and action films need to be seen at the cinema on the big screen, but love girly films at home with friends and a bottle of wine, like Benny & Joon or Kate & Leopold. Recently seen the new Harry Potter, which I loved, despite it not following the book completely. Also saw Ice Age 3 in 3d which was brilliant.
Stargate (both of them), Heroes, Lost, 24, Time team, Supernatural, Firefly (wish it could come back), period dramas - like Jane Austen, anything really that allows an escape from reality for an hour or so. Hate the news, not because I do not like to know what is going on, but because it is so depressing - they so rarely cover good news! Love all the River Cottage series - Hugh is my hero! Currently loving Dexter, True Blood and Big Bang Theory - love Leonard - he is so cute!
Anything based in paper or material - scrapbooking, cardmaking, ATCs and Inchies, gift boxes, cross stitch, dressmaking, making bags and soft toys. Just started playing with polymer clay, but think it may be a while before I am really ready to share! Being married to a sculptor does not make for an easy time trying to learn it!!
I am fairly laid back person, but a few things really rile me - laziness, rudeness, arrogance, liars, most kind of -isms ie racism and bad drivers. Would love to live a more simple life and become more self-sufficient, but sadly you need to be financially sorted before you can do this, as this kind of lifestyle rarely pays the mortgage!
Colours - I love all earth tones, plums and purples and the combo's turquoise/chocolate or dusky pink/chocolate.
Chocolate - all, but esp. dark. Love praline or truffle fillings.
Animals - seahorses, polar bears, all big cats, pandas
Things I love:
but most of all I love to learn a little about you through what you send.
Colours - I do not like neon colours or pastel baby colours.
Chocolate - do not like anything with coffee flavouring or turkish delight. Do not like peanut butter (but love the actual nuts), but hubby loves it, so if you think I should be made to share my chocolate, please feel free to send him some.
I do not wish to post a list of items I would not like to receive, as part of the fun for me is getting to know something about the other person. However, I cannot stand the smell of cigarette smoke and I have no real use of any religious items. I find badly made items disappointing, as it indicates a love of receiving rather than giving, which is not what this journey is about for me.
I am not sure I am "getting" the Kawaii thing - it is just a little too cutsie for me.

Hey there Gini, nice to see another profile from the UK especially one so interesting. Glad to see some more craft-y people on here. My girlfriend is really into papercraft too and you're so right - it takes a lot of patience!
I too love postcrossing and you'll see my site this week on the postcrossing blog if you look. It's called my REAL wall, and it's through that that I got into swap-bot. I'm still learning this one, but really like it so far.
Keep up the crafting and hope to be in a swap with you soon
"My Swap Bot Profile is lonely..."
"My Swap Bot Profile is lonely..." Good Morning, I am Linda in Stafford, VA, USA. I have six pets - one is a Siamese Cat named Pudge. I think I have always had a cat in my life for 40 years. Twenty years ago, I learned the joy of dogs and currently have 4 chihauhaus. Special Agent Spazo (guinea pig) joined us two years ago. I read the Twilight Series this summer when my 15 year old granddaughter, Caitlyn, brought them with her on her yearly trip. I love any book that gets a teenager to read. Although, she only got to Book 4 in the Harry Potter Series and than bailed on me. We talk books alot. Vin Diesel is so bad - he is cute;-) LOL! Great actor. Although Arnold S. is my first love. I was inspired by my Grandmother to crochet and do a lot of squares and assembly for www.warmupamerican.com. I don't get the Kawaii thing either??? Have a wonderful day, keep crafting and Hugs...
By the way.. the postcard was so beautiful!
Thank you so much for agreeing to redirect the can for our swap to avoid the flaker...
