Retired after working as a Lab Tech for 36 years. We produced animal health care products. I worked in the vaccine department, making vaccines for chickens, turkeys, pigs, cows, horses and cats and dogs. It is very interesting work.
I live in a small town in Iowa. I grew up on a farm and will always be a country gal at heart. Big cities are nice to visit but I love the quiet and the friendly people of a little country town.
Now I finally have time to read. I love "scary" books and historical works. Not much into the romance books such as Harlequin.
I like to garden and DH and I had a small produce stand in the Summer for a couple of years. It wasn't a money making business but we met so many nice people. Plus we were selling healthy fruits and vegetables to people. I miss the fun.
Quilting is one of my favorite crafts and I enjoy all types of sewing. I especially like to make things for children. Cloth ball and blocks and quiet books. Even like to sew Barbie doll clothes. My all time favorite is X-stitching. But I love to try new crafts such as painting, scrapbooking and I've even made some garden art pieces. I'm a good starter but have trouble completing things.
I enjoy rummage sales and flea markets. Usually try to have 2 yard sales every year. Very interested in antiques. Especially old photographs, depression glass and old books. I'm also a collector of many things.
But my greatest love are my 4 kitties. All were strays or shelter adoptions. Even had to bottle feed one of them. They're all spoiled but bring so much joy to our lives. They're our "fur" babies. There's Puff and Gabby. Then Buffit and BOO. He's a character !!
I love Nature and being outside. All things weather, clouds, wind, trees and wildlife. I really enjoy feeding and watching the birds and squirrels. Been seeing a few chipmunks this year. I used to have one that would take crackers with peanut butter, out of my hand. Love taking walks even in a gentle rain. Walks during a snow fall are wonderful.

Time to celebrate !!!!! Just received my "1000" -- 5 rating. I've loved this site ever since I joined. But slowed down a lot this year since the dreaded Covid-19 is around. Thank you all for the ratings. Means a lot to me. Happy Swapping.
