I am often described as a throw back to the 60 or 70's, a neo-hippie with a touch of romance and the gothic - a "dark bohemian rubenesque goddess."
Mindful mama (and wife), a Green Witch with a UU/Quaker/Zen bent.
Very interested in intention, herbs and cooking. One day I will have a place with acreage and have a huge garden / mini-farm - 'til then I am creative with potted garden in my shadowy & shared yard.
Extremely Eclectic - gregorian chant to 40's standards to filk to indie to country to graver to angry chick rock.
Godsmack, James Taylor, Judgement Day, Good Charlotte, Theory of a Deadman, Harry Connick Jr., Rasputina, Louis Armstrong, Moldy Peaches, Mediaeval Baebes, Shannon Curfman, Blue October, The Weepies, etc., etc., etc.
I love to read, anything. The bulk of my library (which used to run well over 1,000 books) consists of sci-fi, fantasy, good historical romance & mysteries. I have been known to whiz through as many as 20 books in a month.
Among my faves are: Terry Prachett, Susan Wittig Albert, Jane Austen, JD Robb, William Gibson, Neil Gaiman, Laurell K. Hamilton, Lucy Maude Montgomery, Dr. Suess, etc., etc., etc.
After books my next greatest passion is fiber. Currently yarning (crochet, knit, spin & weave) has been out pacing my sewing, quilting, scrapping and paper art. But it's all in the mix. I prefer natual fibers.
With the rest of my spare time: I enjoy movies, play video games (RPG, Adventure & Puzzle mostly), dabble with photography and pretend that I am a writer.
I am a bit of a sea creature – driftwood, sea glass, sand dollars, sea stars, compass roses, mermaids, sea horses, light houses and old looking maps/sea charts (especially of the Atlantic) all fascinate me.
Vintage cookbooks & pamphlets (1700's - 1960's), reproduction tins and tin signs (hint hint magnets), vintage romance novels & pulp fiction (50's - 70's)
Skulls, gargoyles and grotesques
Frogs, dragonflys and wyrms/dragons
I used to hate coffee. It's growing on me since I've started drinking it organic and french press brewed - still prefer it flavored and heavy on the cream.
As for tea - LOVE IT! Rooibos, White, Green, Black, Chai, Blooming, Herbal... Current faves - Peach Rooibos from my local organic coffee shop, Twingings' Irish Breakfast, Love & Tea's Happy Citrus and just about anyone's Earl Grey Cream.
Blue / Demin / Indigo / Cobalt
Jewel Tones - emerald as opposed to lime or amethyst instead of lavender or ruby red as opposed to mauve.
Also prefer silver over gold.
Rather fond of plain ol' black and white. Crisp clean snow white, I don't mean ivory, cream, etc.
Please, no earthy colors. I really don't want to donate or regift your lovely gifts. But I do NOT wear brown, orange, olive, charcoal, yellow, rust or tan, ever.
Because we can only list five links above, I decided to move a couple down here.
