Hi there! I'm Jamie. I'm a 30-something, married with no kids. I have two dogs, Winnie and Chalupa, who are my "babies." We also have two cats, Oz and Willow, who apologize in advance for any stray strands of cat hair in my swap packages.
Other random "me" facts: I'm an avid postcard collector. I work in human resources in the educational field. I love Postcrossing and Kiva. I'm a vegetarian and have been since college. My favorite colors are black and purple. I love to travel and do it as often as possible - so far my favorite destinations have been Scotland and Colombia. I'm a native Floridian, but I'm currently residing in Michigan and have lived all over the eastern United States. I also have a dream of one day becoming an expatriate ... I'd love to live somewhere in Central or South America.
Pink Floyd. Queen. Ozzy Osbourne. The Who. Alice Cooper. David Bowie. The Postal Service. The Beatles. Cheesy 80s hair bands.
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Douglas Adams). Last Chance to See (Douglas Adams). Tess of the D'Urbervilles (Thomas Hardy). Wonderland Avenue (Danny Sugerman). Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen). All the James Herriot books.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Boondock Saints. Young Guns II. Notting Hill. 180˚ South. LA Story. Bandits. Travel and nature documentaries.
I love all kinds of postcards and will appreciate anything you want to send my way! However, if you're looking for some ideas, some of my favorites are:
If you drew my name for an animal postcard swap, moose, pigs, owls, flamingos, giraffes, goats, penguins, dolphins, and (non-cutesy) dogs are always great options!
Have an interesting non-English ad postcard in your stash? Feel free to send it my way (in an envelope if you wouldn't mind)!
I prefer my postcards to be sent written on and stamped (except for the ad cards mentioned above), but I'm also perfectly happy to receive them in envelopes if the swap calls for it or if you're sending me multiple cards (or even if you just really want to send one to me unwritten!).
I'm always interested in private trades/swaps, particularly map postcards! Here are some of the postcards I currently have for trade ...
(I'll try my best to keep this list updated, but please don't hate me if I forget!)
Map cards: Bermuda, Colorado, Dakota Territory 1882, Florida, Grand Teton National Park, Indiana, Mackinac Island (Michigan), Lighthouses of Michigan, Michigan, Montana, Ohio, South America, South Dakota, Thailand, Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park.
Non-USA Touristy Views: Bahamas, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Guyana (these are smaller and thinner than normal postcards), Honduras, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, St. Maarten.
I also have tons of lighthouse postcards and cards from several different U.S. states.
If you're interested in a private trade (for one or multiple postcards), please feel free to message me!
I don't often participate in non-postcard swaps, but when I do here's a bit of what I love ... :)
Overall, I'm pretty easy to please and I'm sure I'll love whatever you decide to send!
I always send out my swaps! If you don't receive something from me, please let me know before rating and I'll be more than happy to resend.
When I click the "Sent" button on a swap, it usually means I've dropped it in the mailbox outside the post office, so the actual postmark date may be a day or two later. Whenever possible, I always try to send out early enough that it'll be postmarked by the "send by" date. No guarantees my post office won't ever goof it up, of course, but this method has (knock on wood) worked well so far!
After I receive a swap, I almost always rate within 24 hours. It's usually sooner rather than later, but occasionally life gets in the way. If you think I should have received a swap from you and haven't yet rated it, please contact me and I'll check around to make sure I haven't overlooked it.
Thanks in advance for all the fantastic swaps!
