UPDATE- 1-30-12 New Year. New Blessings. New Troubles.

I am back from my holiday break. I slowed down in October so I could enjoy Halloween, Thanksgiving, Black Friday shopping, the birth of a new grandson, and Christmas, of course.

New grand baby! Michael, born December 7. In helping my daughter with the new baby, I seem to have injured my shoulder and developed something ominously named "frozen shoulder". Painful. I am now in physical therapy three days a week. But it isn't keeping me from crafting, thank goodness. :)

I rate. It completes the swapping transaction, and it's just the right thing to do. Also, I like to send a few extras with my swaps, if I have something I think you'd like. I love reading your profiles, and I really like the idea of paying forward something you might use in a future swap.

I was born in California but grew up in Memphis Tennessee. I have three grown children, two sons and a daughter, Shawn, Erin and Dylan. I also have four grandchildren. Danny, Mallory, Jake and Michael. My husband, John, is in the Air Force and we move constantly. Right now we're in Louisiana. We've been together almost 22 years. :) We have a beagle, named Buddy, and he is our baby. We also have a cat named Twister. I am a non-smoker. I like to garden and read and I love movies. I believe in ghosts and I love anything Halloween, NON-CUTESY Halloween.

I like to do paper crafts. ATCs, Inchies, Twinchies, Tags, Bookmarks, Small Books, Matchboxes etc.

THEMES and STYLES

I like vintage style things, more along the lines of Shabby Chic than Victorian style. No lace, cherubs or overblown flowers.

I like old soft pastel colors, but I also like red with a pale blue.

Another part of me loves anything in the style/ color palette of Tim Holtz. Grungey is good.

And, I also love anything Halloween. Creepy, scary, vintage-y, glittery, dark-old-house Halloween. Any time of year. I keep my Halloween craft stuff out year round.

I definitely have a dark side, and besides Halloween, I love old murder cases and mysteries- Jack-the Ripper, Lizzie Borden, the Villisca Iowa Ax Murders etc. Anything serial killer. And legends, Mothman, etc.

• I like old ribbon, buttons, sewing trims and notions.
• Tim Holtz, Graphic 45, 7 Gypsies paper. Old book pages, ephemera.
• Maps, postcards, ad cards.
• Die-cuts, cricut bits, etc.
• Anything I can use in paper crafting having something to do with my themes/likes. Hitchcock, Halloween, Lizzie Borden etc.
• I like birds, toadstools, black cats, gnomes, Paris, werewolves, New Orleans, owls, bits of old hat veiling, tiny bottles and interesting brads.

So, if you need to send something to me (supplies) or make something for me (inchies, ATC etc), any of the above will make me very happy.

BUT, I am really easy going and easy to please. This list is only to give you some ideas for profile specific swaps.

I love movies- I have a pretty good collection of Hitchcock films, and many, many, many horror movies, old and new. I also like some older foreign films and classics. I don't care for romantic comedies.

I love Joy Division. Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, The Clash. Dinosaur Jr., Hot Hot Heat, MGMT, I love music. (Just not country music)

I have been collecting vintage books for years. Especially children's books. I love Beatrix Potter and J.M. Barrie. Grahame and Milne. All the classics. I also love The Betsy-Tacy series. I must have read those books a million times.

I love to re-read the Harry Potter books. But I do read books for grown-ups as well- Shirley Jackson, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Flannery O'Connor are a few of my favorites. I love ghost stories and true crime.
