Oh my goodness I had no idea that 10 days could screw everything up so much!!! I am behind on absolutely everything and I am so sorry to all my partners and tag mates. I am dedicating this weekend to catching up on all the mail I owe out as well as responding with thank yous to the overwhelming amount of mail I received. I'm super jetlagged, sad about my granma & really paranoid that everyone on here is going to hate me forever for this lapse, thank you to everyone who has extended support and understanding.
If you post a comment about me being late I will leave it up for a bit because I feel it's fair that people see your comments but I'm going to take it down as soon as this situation is rectified or I will get depressed looking at all my mistakes. Please don't take it personally.
I'm 22 year old art student, studying to be an illustrator and book artist. I lived in the maritimes for the past 3 years, going to NSCAD U but I am getting pretty sick of snow. So now I'm back home in BC spending my days crafting, reading books from my childhood and puting off working on my zine.
I love knitting and crochet, especially hats and amigurumi, embroidery, needle felting, book binding and drawing. I'm trying to learn how to sew on a machine. I can throw and sculpt a bit but don't have studio space at the moment. I am horrible at photography. I like re-using thrifted/found/discovered-in-the-back-of-my-closet materials whenever I can, especially images from vintage kids' books, old pillow cases and ephemera.
In pretty much all cases I would prefer something handmade or vintage over something new from the store. In no particular order:
chenile
I am currently really loving the colours/themes aesthetics of Michael Miller, Amy Butler and Echino fabrics.
Nothing made out of animals, wool is ok but no leather/rawhide, feathers and candies with gelatin(e), basically if you have to kill an animal to get it, please do not send it to me. No frilly/folksy/american country crafts.
Thanks :)
I love Moomin but cannot get anything but Moomin cookies & comics here. If you send anything my way you will be my hero.
Plushies handmade by you would be so special and dear to me!
Wool felt made from old sweaters would be lovely, as would patterned vintage pillow cases.
Anything Narwhal related. Oh man.
Wood grain fabric. even scraps would be lovely.
I am currently making my very first quilt. It's going to be a crazy quilt and will probably by either just a lap quilt of morph into an art quilt. The colourway (do quilters say that of is it just knitters?) will be burgundy, red, orange, pink, yellow and brown (it's an autumn theme quilt). If you send me patterned cotton fabric, even small scraps, in these colours I will love you forever!!!!
I'm looking for people in good standing to do private swaps around any of the themes listed above. If you love what I love pm me and maybe we can work something out. :)
I'm still working on:
I'm checking my mailbox anxiously for:
All of my other tags have been sent out and I would love to know when you receive them.
I am obsessed with finding these fabrics. I love them so much and want them for my quilt but I cannot find them anywhere in Vancouver. If you have access to these fabrics please PM me so we can work out some sort of trade.

Hi! I have a new menagerie swap listed - I'd love for you to join again.
Thanks! Natalie
I don't know if you have heard or not, but DO NOT SEND TO OREGONMEADOWS. I see you are working on a tag for her. She is a HUGE flaker. :(
Ok, can't edit my comment, but just wanted you to know I moved the deadline to January!!
Thank you sweetie for all of your kind words!! With all of the drama recently, yes, I've been a bit paranoid!
So sorry about your grandmother!
PLEASE let me know if you need more time on our swap.....I AM NOT worried about mine in the least!! So, take a deep breath, and work on the ones that need to go out now~& I'll extend our deadline!! Hugs, Dana
Sorry to hear about your Grandma. Hope the trip to see her went well. We had a private swap ("Fabric Swap Between marmot & freespirit66") and I sent you a package. Wondered if you received it.
Also noticed that you haven't sent one to me yet and the deadline has passed. Was hoping to get started on the quilt for my daughter since it is a Christmas gift and the squares you are sending are for the quilt.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Hi! I'm so sorry to see you are having a hard time these days with your Grandmother. I hope things are improving for you.
It looks like some people might be haggling you to send out swaps or give ratings... but but please know that I'm in no hurry for my Menagerie Swap - mail whenever it is convenient for you to do so. Please do contact me with an update whenever you have access to a computer.
You were in my last Menagerie Swap and sent a lovely package that Missxpistol really loved. The least I can do is show some grace on my package while you try to catch up. :-)
Take Care! Natalie

Thank you so much for the great buttons! I checked out the website for "The Regional Assembly of Text", and I can't believe I've never been introduced to this store before! It's the perfect store for me, and it's really close to me. So thank you for the terrific store recommendation too.
