I started a quilt guild called Beach Border Quilters 7 years ago which is located near Myrtle Beach SC just over the NC border in Calabash. I enjoy doing art quilts and I started fiber art group in January. I have been retired for 10 years . I have 5 grandkids ranging from 9 - 23 years of age. I love dark chocolate, flavored coffees and teas and chewy type candy like carmels, red licorice and gummy bears. I enjoy trying new recipes especially low cal and low fat since I am always on a diet and my husband is diabetic
Quilting, sewing, rubber stamping, knitting, reading . Love altered art and just added zentangles to my likes. I also like to use the computer to play games and create cards and other graphics. I have a small home based machine embroidery business so I use the computer to create embroidery designs. I also coordinate our community craft show held each October. I teach quilt classes and love it since I was an elementary teacher early in my career. Don't let this intimidate you cause I love getting all kinds of stuff from other crafters. I also have a large collection of beads and would like to do more beadwork. I love redwork which I usually do by coloring with crayons and then embroiderying with black. I do redwork in all different colors and love the 30's redwork design.
Motown and musicals like Sound of Music, Dreamgirls, Mama Mia, etc
Gone with the Wind James Patterson Nicolas Sparks Nora Roberts Deborah Macomber vampire romance novels time travel books any books that are in a series
My husband and I enjoy traveling especially cruising. We love road trips and exploring the "blue highways" I collect teapots and tea related stuff, GWTW memorabilia, thimbles, penguins and Matroyska doll sets. I also love anything beachy and collect lighthouses stuff. I like oriental things and my favorite colors are blue, green and purple. I also like any bright colors. I love the color combinations of blue and green, blue and white, and purple and turquoise. Can usually find a use for any fabric!
I love reality shows such as Dancing with the Stars, Amazing Race, Top Model and especially Project Runway. I also enjoy all the cooking challenge shows such as Top Chef, Chopped, etc. I enjoy watching old movies especially musicals

Hello! I'm Tammy and I'm one of your partners in the Carolina Gals: Read Profile & Comment swap. Actually, we've swapped so many times that I feel like I know you. I wished we lived closer, I would love to look at your quilts and maybe go get a cup of coffee. Do you ever put beadwork on your quilts? What kind of quilt classes do you teach and where? Happy Swapping and Happy New Year! Tammy
Hello Sue, I am your partner for Carolina Gals - Read Profile & Comment. Reading your profile I saw that we are interested in similar 'crafts.' I would love to see some of the 'art quilts' that you have created. You stated that you would like to do more beadwork, is this something that you are incorporating on the art quilts? I have a quilt that I am hand quilting...I guess I need to get it out and complete it! You are encouraging me! I also like games on the computer. Passes the time when I have nothing else to do!!! I presented two 'craft' classes at my church recently. They are interested in a Fall show. I may have to ask questions on how you prepare for a show. I also enjoy zentangles. Keep tangling...it becomes addictive. I have seen where quilters have used tangle patterns when sewing their quilt tops, very interesting look. Have a wonderful day. See ya at the mail box. Susan
Hey Sue, I am one of your partners for the Carolina Gals :: Read Profile & Comment swap. I see we live only about an hour or so way from each other, have you always lived in the Calabash area? All of that area has really grown since I was a little girl. We use to go and eat there once a month, because my Grandparents loved this little resturant there. I think it was the smallest one on that main strip. My sister I always begged to eat at the bigger place, but the answer was always "NO". When I was old enough to go with some friends we tried the other places, but the Grand parents were right, that little place was the BEST!!
Wow, you are a talented lady, I would love to learn to sew and quilt, but I haven't found a teacher for beginners yet. Most of the places "beginner" classes are not true beginners! This girl here needs to know everything! lol What is Redwork? It sound very interesting.
Hopefully The Carolina Gals group will have a meetup this year,I would love to meet everyone...I hope you have a wonderful and crafty New Year... Connie
