I want to thank everyone for their kindness, understanding and patience shown over the past two weeks. A death of a parent (or inlaw) is difficult and you all helped so much. A special thanks to texdel & pedal2u, with out you two there to help & support I don't know how I would have kept it together on here while life was happening.
Things are finally getting back to normal. I have caught up with all my swaps and have cleared my 1 rating, thank you SnickersMama . Sorry I tried to do what I could to change the 3 ratings, but could only satisfy one person, thank you MrsRemington for changing the 3's to 5's. And thanks to printing most of my postage on stamps.com swaps are now arriving on time (well in some cases arriving at all!). Our post office has a new Postmaster as well, so things are better there as well. So far turning 50 has been awesome!!
Happy Swapping,
Nora
♥☺♥
If you have me as a swap partner and are in Australia or Germany, I would love some Soft Black Licorice! Also willing to do a privet swap for some.
I am married to my Soul Mate (for 20+ years). The Mother of three (3) beautiful daughters (30, 29 & 17) and Grandmother of seven (7) beautiful angels (not always angelic, LOL).
I am fortunate to have for 30+ years a dear best friend, CJ (texdel). We are more than friends; she is my sister by choice. Even my Mother thought of her as another daughter. And as the saying goes "she will always be my best friend, she knows too much". Thanks CJ for being my "Sister" and introducing me to Swap-bot.
I love Swap-bot; it gives me a chance to make friends all over the world. Also gives me an outlet for gifting, I love giving little things to make someone smile. So don't be surprised when you find a RAK in your swap package from me.
BTW; I reuse packaging and If I receive something I do not like or cannot use it will be "Reswapped". I try not to reswap back to who sent it, but could happen.
Card making, baking & getting back into cooking.
Card making is my first love for crafting. I like to send cards I make blank inside unless the swap is specific (birthday, Christmas, etc.).
Looking for easy healthy recipes for baked goods. Needs to be All Natural [see dislikes below].
MOVIES: Any Audrey Hepburn Movie, The Left Behind Series, Marley and Me, Grease, Ghost, Dirty Dancing, Two Mules for Sister Sarah and many more.
BOOKS: The Left Behind Series, Bathroom Readers, Louis Grizzard or Erma Bombeck
Nonfiction Books about... Bi Polar Disorder, ADHD, Fibromyalgia or Domestic Abuse Survivors (I am one!)
MUSIC: Easy Listening Rock, Jazz and Blues (some Country)
Hunter Green, Navy Blue, Maroon and Tan (Light Brown).
I also like combos of black and red (black, white & red is great too) or brown and pink.
But I can find a use for any color.
Buttery Soft Black Licorice will ALWAYS get a heart from me!
Number – 13 (we were married on Friday the 13th of October at 1300 hours (1pm). (13 is a special number for us, can you tell?)
Games – Mahjong, Bejeweled and Tetris on the computer, Trivial Pursuit, Uno, Yahtzee and Life board/card games. I also like solitaire on computer or with real cards.
Things - Angels, flowers, Snowbabies (with wings) also things with Celtic & Asian themes.
Tea flavors- I love love love Chi & spice teas, also Licorice teas. My sister just shared Celestial Seasons "Roastaroma" with me, very good substitute for regular coffee w/o caffeine. If you know of a similar tea let me know, even decaf has way too much caffeine for me. I prefer bagged but loose is ok.
Smells- Orchid, Japanese Cherry Blossom, lilac and vanilla.
Any friend/family get together. I love keeping in touch with friends and family.
Printed papers, Japanese Washi papers, handmade papers, card stock,
unusual brads and embellishments,
die cuts or embossing folders to go with my Cuttlebug,
chalk pads,
printed & solid color ribbons (no wider than 1"),
large (shoe string size) grommets to go with my Crop-a-dile,
score tape any size (use 1/8 inch most).
Japanese Washi (or other) printed packing tape.
I do not journal, make ATCs or Scrapbook and do not use chipboard numbers or letters. So please nothing specific to these crafts.
Please No .... STARBUCKS ANYTHING!! ALCOHOL!! SMOKE SMELLS!!
Your dislikes/Allergies; If you are allergic to pet hair (cats in particular), you might want to tell me.
My Daughter is a senior this year! She has asked me to make her Announcements and Invitations for Graduation. So I am in need of Senior, Graduation, 2012 themed items for card making.
Rooster, Chicken or Washboard themed items for my kitchen.
Outhouse themed items for my bathroom.
Remember to save the planet! It's the only one with Chocolate!
Many Hugs,
Nora (nlgrudis)

When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, Show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile!
Swap Bot ~ Reveal yourself in 24 easy steps!
1) I am not: A victim, helpless or weak!
2) I hurt: When I think about people being abused in any way.
3) I love: My husband, children, grandchildren, family and my dearest friend (CJ). I also love seafood, ice-cream, watermelon, black licorice and chocolate. I love the smell of babies, puppy breath, puppies & kittens, life, freedom, my faith, sunny warm days, the beach and so much more. I also love the person I have turned out to be.
4) I hate: Stupidity, the word “Hate”, lies, gossip, people who steel or cheat, discrimination (age, race, religion, sex, etc.) and saying goodbye.
5) I fear: Being alone, dying, spiders, snakes, the unknown and the thought of outliving my children or grandchildren.
6) I hope: For a peaceful future, to grow very old (while being healthy) with my husband and watch our children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren grow.
7) I regret: Not learning “How to” from my Mom & Dad (cooking, crochet, knit, etc.). Other than that I don’t hold stock in regrets, I wouldn’t be who I am without the mistakes I have made & learned from.
8) I cry: At sappy movies and books, when people hurt inside, when I am happy and when I am sad. Sometimes even when I laugh real hard.
9) I care: About Love, freedom, faith, the earth and I could go on and on with this one.
10) I always: Say “I love you” at the end of a phone call or a visit with family or close friends. Also before we go to sleep. You never know when it will be your last chance to say it.
11) I long: For long, lazy warm days with not a care in the world
12) I listen: For a baby’s sounds, for a soft rain, beautiful music and for someone to say “I love you”.
13) I hide: My fears & emotional scars from everyone but my husband & God.
14) I write: Very seldom but normally about the past
15) I miss: Living near my family, the freedom of childhood, my parents (both have passed on), Eastern Shore food and my size 7 jeans.
16) I search: For knowledge and reason (and a lot of the time for whatever it was I went into the next room for)
17) I learn: Something new everyday
18) I feel: Much younger than I look, healthier than ever (except when I was pregnant), very safe, loved & respected, fortunate to have the husband & family & friends I have.
19) I know: Myself much better every day
20) I want: My daughters to get over all the crap and be friends (and the same for my extended family).
21) I worry: About the thought of outliving my children or grandchildren. Also that my husband will never find another job and we will start running out of money.
22) I wish: Everyone to have a warm, safe place to call “Home”, people who care for & love them, plenty to eat and to be healthy.
23) I have: A blessed life, the best husband & friend ever.
24) I give: My all in everything (sometimes too much)
25) I wait: For my ship to come in (LOL)
26) I need: To feel loved, wanted, safe & respected.
Thank you very much for angelling the Handmade cards - Open Theme #2. Both cards are beautiful and I very much appreciate the time you took to make them and to send them in place of the gal who flaked. All co-ordinators should be so considerate for those who join their swaps.
