Hi everyone! My name is Kathryn but I have always gone by Kelli. So if you think you haven't received your swap from Kelli, check for the Kathryn address label and you just might find me. To my swap-mates: I am going through treatment for metastatic (advanced) breast cancer and thyroid cancer right now. Please be patient with my getting your ratings out to you. I have cut back on many of my swapping activities as some days I just feel like crap. Thanks for your understanding. CANCER SUCKS!!!
Aside from all that, I am a pediatric occupational therapist, artist, rubber stamp and beadaholic, breast cancer survivor since 2003. I live in my 1936 Cape Cod house in Rochester, NY with my 4 Wonder Cats. I just love to "make stuff" and have been doing so pretty much since I found out I had hands.
Likes: the colors pink, purple, blue, and green, cats, fish, handmade paper, beads, anything with a hand or hands on it, swirls and spirals, suns, anything with a face on it, teeny tiny things that can hide in teeny tiny niches
80's punk and new wave, alternative/progressive. Depeche Mode, The Cure, B52s, Erasure, Sisters of Mercy, Siouxsie, Iggy Pop, Michelle Shocked, Heather Nova, Tori Amos, Mat Kearney, New Order, Chemical Brothers, Angelo Badalamenti, Lucinda Williams.
Dead Poets Society, The Shawshank Redemption, To Kill a Mockingbird, American Beauty, Donnie Darko, Life is Beautiful, Crash, Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me
The Simpsons, Six Feet Under, Family Guy, Twin Peaks, House, Saturday Night Live, Brothers and Sisters, How it's Made (I just love the science channel!!) and once in awhile some trashy, stupid reality shows like Wife Swap and My Super Sweet 16!
Beads, rubber stamps, handmade paper, and anything you can make with one or all of the above ingredients ;) You can never have too many beads! They are just too delicious! I enjoy religious art of all faiths.
My favorite kind of ATCs are the ones you can tell were made by a person, and reflect some aspect of the artist's personality. I'm not a big fan of the ones that look like they could be machine-made scrapbook embellishments. You know what I mean.
I will give 5s to people who are running late but COMMMUNICATE WITH ME that they will be late, for whatever reason. I don't want to be the art police, as it takes away from the fun, and like I often say, life is what happens when you're making other plans. So if your swap to me is late, I will give you a 5 as long as you meet the other criteria for the swap AND you have communicated with me ahead of time that yours will be late. I speak this from experience on both ends of the swapping scene!
Currently reading Bret Lott's "A Song I Knew by Heart". Fave authors are Harper Lee, Wally Lamb, John Steinbeck, Margaret Atwood, Joyce Carol Oates, and Jodi Picoult. Have a reading suggestion for me? Give me a shout!
