Slowly getting back into swapping....and blogging, so check that out if you get the chance. There will be some spoilers on there, so if a post is labeled "Spoiler" and swap name...just scroll past really fast..lol. I'mma Homeschooling momma of 3....Kindergarten, 4th, and 6th. I stay BUSY with extra curricular: karate, swimming, wrestling, basketball.....on and on! lol. I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I have many interests, but am here for swapping. I like to send quality items and works. I mainly join ATC, mixed media, fb/deco, and greeting card type swaps. So, yea....Happy Swapping Y'all.
****Read "Right Now" section to know what is going on right now lol!!****
So, some of my hobbies are martial arts, volleyball, watching youtube crafting/arting videos. I love to look through Pinterest for ideas, and new takes on art/mixed media.
I mainly do mixed media on my ATCs. I love stamped images, stencils, different papers to gelli print on, I LOVE LOVE LOVE gelli printing....if you have not gotten one... DO - you will not regret it!!!
I homeschool the kids. So, I do a lot of researching on all the topics that go along with that;) Its hard...that's all I'm gonna say! LOL!
Things I like to receive:
1.) Stamped images: Really any, and I especially love them stamped on WHITE TISSUE PAPER. I will take as many as you can send. The tissue paper is very easy to add to any texture, and then it turns translucent except for the image lines. It's really neat, if you have not tried this, please do, it opens a whole other world. So, some image ideas: - sentiments (any, holiday, hellos, happy birthdays, any!) - Cute girls: I do like bigger images, but any mixed media ones, gorjuss, etc. - ANY mixed media stamps - different colors too. - any shapes, objects: examples are - coffee cups, trees, flowers, shoes, butterflies, houses, postage stamps, clocks, keys, anything;) - Background stamps- any big background stamps would be cool. NOTE If you do decide to send stamped images on tissue paper, don't worry so much about them tearing or being folded, etc. just fold them up flat to mail, no big deal;)
2.) used postage stamps - I collect them and would love any you might have on hand. They can be any...but of course the more unique the "better";) Some of my favorite designs are people, buildings, animals, landscapes, and planes...ok, so I just named about all the design categories...haha. I do like the postage mark on them, not the black sharpie cross over, but I will not refuse a stamp, any will do!
3.) handmade, by you...pretty much anything: Any gelli printed backgrounds, any mixed media-type backgrounds. I probably would use them for ATCs, but I would prefer the cuts larger.....like so they can fit in the envie of course, but almost the size of it...hope that made sense. They don't have to be "perfect"....honestly they will be layered on 1,000 times any ways;) I like handmade card embellishments, ATCs, flip books, etc. I love making greeting cars, so if you make them, I love to see other cards and see how they are put together....get some ideas.
4.) Plain and simple embellishments: nothing fancy or really thick - regular round brads, enamel dots, simple paper flowers, border stickers, border punches (the papers punched out by you, not the punches themselves), plane tags (big ones), journal cards, etc.
5.) die cuts: The papers (not the dies) - doilies, any Tim Holtz alteration or mixed media die cuts, flowers, fences, trees, sentiments for holiday and birthdays...ANYTHING hahaha.
6.) Decorative papers and stickers: Very plain with these too...I like grungy, shabby chic, vintage type card stocks, not really out doorsy bee design type stuff...unless its Tim Holtz grungy looking....pretty much everything looks good with his style.
I keep an open mind on this....I try to look at things from different angles and understand other points of views. So, unless it's purposefully offensive, I'll try to understand...find the good in it I guess.
As for crafty stuff, I usually just have to see it. I don't really prefer Holiday themed anything unless I signed up for it in a swap. I don't care for cutsy bee, doll, or other designs.
With that said, I would never rate down for getting something that I don't personally like, but is in good condition....another words, its not OBVIOUSLY thrown together cheaply.
4/4 - So, I have messed up on a couple swaps. I am resending them, and just wanted to put this note here incase there are others that I didn't do right;) I will make it right;) Not sure what is going on with me lately...scatter brained I guess...but I have always been like that!lol! Thanks!!
PLEASE let me know if you have a problem...I'm easy to work with. I will resend, and am very thankful when given the chance to.

Just to Say Hello Swap -SENT 4/8 (going over seas)
I have been diagnosed with cervical cancer, and will have a radical hysterectomy on Feb. 22. I will probably not sign up for any new swaps until after the surgery. I do have a 6 week recovery period where I am not suppose to do anything....basically lift 10lbs, so I am hoping that I will get to do tons of crafting during that time...I am just not sure. I know the surgery is serious...and am just unsure of how I am going to feel afterwords for a while.
Surgery DONE,no complications, now I just rest.
2/25...feeling better, might be crafting soon;)
PRAYERS APPRECIATED!!! Specifically for all the cancer to be isolated to the cervix, and not the surrounding tissue, especially the lymph nodes. THANK YOU!
3/9 -- Doctors says it did not spread to any surrounding tissue or to the lymph nodes! My recovery pretty much seems done, but I still have until April 2 to "take it easy" for where the internal stitches need to finish healing. So, everything is about back to "normal"...I am in a bit of shock...it happened so quickly...and was very stressful...now it's like I am not sure what to think. I am happy and so thankful, this was the best case scenario.
So, I am thinking more time generous versus money. If you have time to make me address-like decorated labels...that'd be great.
So, it would not be address labels, but labels I would use to sign FBs...friendship books. Anyways, this is what I would like for them to say:
**Vanessa M. in the US **firstname.lastname@example.org **www.marlowesmakings.blogspot.com **Swaps Art Decos, and nice fbs!
If you want to do this and don't understand, just shoot me a message. They also do NOT have to be on sticky paper...a plain printed sheet would be wonderfully appreciated!! LOL!
**indicates the start of a new line
If you are making a Deco or FB for me, please do not put my address on it. Mainly because there is a possibility we will move at some point. I much rather you put my email address instead. You can also put my blog address too if you want. Thanks!!!
