Update October 26 My dad is still in the hospital, his hemoglobin has been too low to move him and he is sunning a low grade fever. He is not talking very much any more, we wonder if it is because he is in so much pain now... they are trying different pain medicines to get him some comfort. He is also not eating very much any more, a few bites of a pudding or apple sauce, very worrisome. Please continue to pray! Update October 22nd tomorrow my dad will be moved to a nursing home to begin rehabilitation, he is not happy at all but he is not mobile enough to go home, he has not improved at all since Sunday. Update October 20th my dad woke during the night and forgot where he was, tried to get up and fell out of the hospital bed. he is very sore, possible broken ribs. They now have him attached to an alarm. Update October 18th My dad has suffered from a pretty severe stroke he is completely paralyzed on his entire left side, he has been admitted to the hospital to run further tests. A good note him having the stroke we were worried that the cancer had spread to his brain but it has not. Update October 11, 2009 my Father collapsed and was very disoriented, unable to walk or know anyone. He was admitted to the hospital and given a blood transfusion due to low blood count, running a fever so they started him on an antibiotic, his pain (which he had always described as a dull ache) now requires morphine...He was given more blood Monday and is till in the hospital, he is having some lucid moments now but he is still not in his right mind. The doctors are trying to figure out if the cancer has spread to his brain or what is going on, right now we have no answers. Update October 5,2009 will be home in a week or two. Wish things were better here! My Dad is not doing well at all, his chemo has stalled the growth of his tumors but none have shrunk or gone away. In addition to all the normal side effects of cancer and chemo treatments he is suffering from a blocked artery in his neck which is causing him to be off balance. Paralysis has struck him on one side but tests show no reason for it! He says his goal is to see the first bowl game of 2010, I tell him that is not good enough, he needs to shoot for my two year olds high school graduation or better! !! Please continue to pray for my Dad!! Update September 24,2009 Leaving tomorrow for Pa. I will be gone for a while. I will try to check in as I can. Take care everyone! Update July 30, 2009 My dad is undergoing weekly chemo treatments of two different IV mediactions, then the other four weekdays he gets a shot to help boost his immunity. He has had some bad side effects and is still losing weight. They finally found a nausea medicine that helps, that is a very good thing he was so sick... He is having a lot of trouble with numbness that will hopefully stop when the treatments stop. He has started stuttering and they are not sure why... He is supposed to have an ultrasound done Aug. 5th to check the size of his tumor, we are all praying that it is shrinking!! Update June 24, 2009 my dad had his first chemo treatments this morning and everything went really well. He says he feels normal, I hope it lasts. He is scheduled to have the treatments every Wednesday for the next 3-4 months depending on how he responds. He is also receiving a shot everyday to boost his immunity. We are hopeful and focusing on the positives!! May 14, 2009 We were told my dad has stage four Esophageal cancer, I am so distressed I don't know where to turn...he recently underwent a test that showed that in addition to the tumor in his esophagus it was found to have spread to other areas of his body. On June 8th they will be placing a stint in his esophogus to keep it from collapsing like it is doing now, causing him to become sick. They are recommending radiation to try and shrink the tumor and have told him he may need a feeding tube. He should be starting chemo soon after...

I'm a SAHM with five children, four girls and one boy, they range in age from 23 to 2 years of age. I'm married to the love of my life, a professional firefighter/engineer/EMT. I have a teacup chihuahua puppy named Mimi. I'm a reformed Army brat and spent the first half of my life living all over the USA and Europe. Now I'm living in southern Virginia. I absolutely love the beach and hope to live there one day. Hot chocolate / hot cocoa yummy!! Gotta have it, looking for some new tasty flavors to try. I also love coffee in all flavors and preparations.Trying the flavored creamers, loving vanilla caramel :) I'm a self taught crocheter and am still learning, trying to figure out knitting, so far ugh!! Sewing is an adventure. LOL

I like a lot of different kinds of music. Some of my favorite artists are Maroon 5, Three Days Grace, Nickelback, Breaking Benjamin, M.I.A., Colbie Caillat, Default, Paramour, Pink, System of a Down, Fall out Boy, Primus. Enjoy light Jazz like Fatt Burger, Spyro Gyro, Acoustical Alchemy and more. Pretty much listen to everything, at least once anyway!

I really like scary movies, the thriller/sci-fi kind, no blood and guts for me. :) I also like comedies and family movies. Some of my favorites are Pan's Labyrinth, Sixth Sense, The Others, Signs, Malibu's Most Wanted, Braveheart, 40 Year Old Virgin, Napolean Dynamite, Pirates of the carribean all of them,The Notebook, Castaway,Caddy Shack. Recently watched P.S. I Love You, no one warned me, I cried like a baby through the whole thing...

My favorite TV shows right now are Dexter, The Tudors, Brotherhood, Damages, My Own Worst Enemy, Fringe, The Cleaner, Most Haunted, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International, Ghost Adventures, Ghost Whisperer, Medium, CSI, Law & Order SVU, Cold Case, Eli Stone and The First 48. I love reading, watching, and talking about paranormal activities, love the chills you get!!

I love to read, read, read. My favorite genres are romance and sci-fi. I just finished the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer and I really enjoyed those books. Getting ready to read Ink Heart, have Ink Spell and Ink Death waiting in line. I don't get much opportunity to read so when I do I really appreciate a good book, any recommendations?

Colors: Lavender mostly, but really any shade of purple, pink, and blue. However I love the lighters shades of most colors.

I'm in love with tiny things!! LOL guess that's why I have such a tiny puppy. Anyway I have a huge shadow box full of mini everything. One of my favorite mini's is a tiny little corn husk doll, she has hair and a dress and everything but is only about 1" tall!! Love it, the smaller the better.

I love to stroll around flea markets, yard sales, and of course thrift stores, can't beat the deals!

I make my children their birthday cakes, nothing to exotic so far, the regular Wilton cakes. I just bought a stand up bear pan and plan on using it for my DH, I am going to (hopefully) make the bear look like a firefighter for his Fourth of July 40th Birthday.
