About Me

Hi, everyone! I work in a public library in public relations/marketing. I love all kinds of paper crafts as well as painting, sketching and sewing. I am an avid reader, enjoy walking for my health, hiking and lots of other activities. I am a mother of three grown sons and have two beautiful granddaughters.

I do not require envelopes for postcards. I enjoy postage stamps and this is a good way to receive new ones. I prefer postcards of natural scenes, art prints, national and state parks, etc. But will be happy to receive any new PCs to add to my collection.

I’m excited to meet new people and make new friends as well as share some fun things!

If you haven’t received a swap from me in a reasonable amount of time, please let me know and I will re-send as soon as possible.

Favorite Television

I am an ID (Investigation Discovery) TV fan. Some of my fave shows are Homicide Hunter (Joe Kenda is hilarous!), Deadly Women, On the Case with Paula Zahn, Swamp Murders...just about all of them, lol. My most recent favorite is The Coroner: I Speak for the Dead.

Mysteries at the Museum

The Good Doctor

I also am a huge fan of British mystery series and watch them on Netflix.

Favorite Books

I am a classic mystery book lover...who doesn't enjoy Agatha Christie's books and characters?! I am also a fan of fantasy/sci-fi and a number of other genres. I constantly have books to read on my iPad or to listen to on my phone when I walk. Still love holding the paper copy in my hands, too.

Favorite Crafts

I love paper crafts and have for years! Getting new school supplies ot visiting stationery supplies were a highlight of my school years. I am constantly taking pics and saving/collecting ephemera to use in journals and smash books. I use a variety of media in my journals - watercolor, acrylic, scrapbook paper, washi tape, etc.

My newest obsession is creating junk journals and using them for my journaling and memory keeping. I am also a huge fan of traveler's notebooks and will often create junk journal-style inserts to use. I am using discarded Readers Digest covers for my monthly junk/smach journal covers.

I also collect silk ties from Goodwill and other thrift shops to add to my in-progress crazy quilt. I also collect mini prints of calico cloth to use to create yo-yos for my yo-yo quilt.

I enjoy sending and receiving ATCs and pocket letters. In additon, steampunk items are welcome in swaps.

Color Preferences - almost all colors can be used in my journals. I do prefer muted and classic colors over 80s brights, fluorescent or metallic colors, though.

Washi - any styles are welcome. It's amazing that even with the many rolls of washi that I have, there are a ton more that are completely new to me.

Favorite Movies

Harry Potter

Saving Private Ryan

Hocus Pocus

Nightmare Before Christmas

Mystery, suspense, action movies

Comment: Deer! Thanks for the nice card. What part of Oklahoma is your son in? I always assume Lawton or OKC when people move here, but I don't know if that makes sense. I'm fortunate to be in a wooded part, but it is pretty brushy and thorny.
Response: Hi, Brian, he moved to Tulsa several years ago to be closer to his dad who has health issues. He has a job he enjoys, his own apartment, and a small lovely dog that he adores. He is much a hermit troll like his dear ol' mom and enjoys his solitude and quiet time. Glad you like the card. Thanks for the sweet rating! I would prefer the woods myself; I grew up in the country surrounded by blackberry bushes, lots of brush and gorgeous trees.

Comment: WOW these are great!
Response: Thank you! =) It's hard to choose paper for someone else...everyone has their own preferences but there is such a ton of paper to try...samples are great. I found a huge tub of paper packs that I have forgotten I had over the weekend. Such great and fun bounty but I am wondering how I will ever use it all, lol!

My favourites include the leaf with the raindrops on it, the fall themed ATC and the recipes (as I love new recipes!). I also love the vintage vibe to the journal! I felt like I was right there with you, experiencing fall and all the beautiful things that come with it. I can tell that you put a lot of effort into this journal, which I truly appreciate and treasure. Thank you so so much! Take care, Annabelle xoxo

VivaLaDiane on Sep 1, 2017:

I sent you an invite to Newbie Helpers so it should appear when you first log in. It will be on the top right of the page saying that you've been invited, and you just click "accept the invitation". Let me know if there's anything you need.

Also - my profile is the result of 10 years of being here and tweaking it. I didn't start like that, so don't feel overwhelmed. That's why I created Newbie Helpers. We're all newbies once, and we do look out and help people as much as we can.

Take care and let me know if you need anything. ♥

Well my, my, my! :) Welcome to Swapbot! I absolutely live on the ID Channel. I DVR Homicide Hunter and have never missed an episode because I adore Joe Kenda!! I like Paula Zahn as well. I dig Tamron Hall, am fascinated by the Chilicothe, Ohio missing women, and so much more. And I loooooove Harry Potter too. I'm Slytherin. ♥

Thanks for joining my September PC swap. I invited you to my Newbie Helpers group. I also see that you like journals so let me know if you want to do a private swap of like a junk/magpie type journal.

Take care!
