About Me

After a 15 month deployment - my hubby is home again!!! I have finished the swaps I am in, but am behind on rating, will finish up soon & will take a bit of a hiatus. At least until it feels real to have him with us again.

I ALWAYS send my swaps & would never flake, so if you have not received your swap from me, PLEASE contact me before rating poorly. On that note, I do live in Germany & mail from a military post office, so it can take some time for my swaps to get to you. If I will be late sending, I will message you.

I try to post pics of my swaps on my flickr account. but try to wait a reasonable amount of time to post to avoid ruining surprises (when I can remember...)

Also, if you are in an international swap with me & sending to Germany would be a better option for you, please PM me for my German address.

I am a SAHM & army wife. I have 3 kids - 2 teenage boys & a 9 yr old girl scout. I have moved 19 times in my life & am currently living in Bavaria, Germany, but have a US mailing address. I enjoy all types of arts & crafts. I am easily amused & truly appreciate all efforts. I pack bento lunches for my kids & sometimes myself, but am not Asian & have never been anywhere in Asia, though I would love to visit - just love Bento. Love anything quirky & off-beat, as that describes my family & I to a tee.

Favorite Crafts

I love all crafts & may be out of practice with some, but will do my best for anything. I draw, paint, embroider, sculpt, sew, do origami, crochet (badly,) build, & just all manner of crafty fun.

Favorite Entertainment

I like most types of music, as long as it has a melody & understandable lyrics. T.V. - comedies, crime dramas & sci-fi. Add action & chick flicks to that list & you have what I like in movies. Books - Young Adult, Comedies (see a theme? Love to laugh.) & Sci-Fi.

Lesson Learned

I did find out that international swaps - make sure they fit in an envelope of some kind & try not to wait until last minute to mail so that it can be fixed as needed. Boxes are EX-PEN-SIVE!!! Yikes. Even small, light weight ones.

General Likes

Retro, Earth friendly, Bright & shiny, Indie, thrifted stuff, fabric, buttons, handkerchiefs, scraps, bottle caps, EVERYTHING! Love to be surprised. I think half the fun is not knowing what you'll get! My favorite colors: jewel tones, earth tones. rainbows, all colors are awesome.

Response: no, I have not RESENT. I did send the first time. I told you last week that I would resend on monday, but have not had the chance to remake & resend. I can not help that it was lost in the mail, but I will resend as soon as I can. I am sorry for the lost mail, but wish you had not marked as a 1.

My kids helped me and they want to make another one...so I will have to learn how to sew it! :D 10/26 Don´t be sad about it, we had such a great time trying to fing the right wallnut shell;-)
Response: I am sooo sorry it broke :( I thought I had packed it ok. drat. The walnut shells were cut in half with a dremel & then I used very small drill bit.

Comment: Boy, did you make me happy! You'll laugh to hear that I am way a dork and kept thinking the squirrel's tail was some kind of body-length mohawk. LOLOL. Then, my travel-wear brain woke up. It was funnier then. More praise later when my other hand is freeeeee! **I loved all the really thoughtful, fantastic things you sent! I have been Nuss-in it up! And can still do more! Response: glad it made you happy :) they have GREAT antiques here that the t-set barely registers as old here. one thing that is popular here & oh so yummy is a crepe w/ nuss spread. mmmmmm.

Comment: Hello Heather, I can see from your address that you are stationed somewhere outside the US for the military. I grew up a "military brat." Hope you are in a safe place. Thank you for the fun goodie box you sent me for the "Rainbow Scavenger Hunt." All the items you sent I will find use for in future creative endeavors and the Blue Smurf stuff I will just enjoy or share with some kids. One of my favorite items you sent was the small piece of rainbow fabric you put in the package. I have what I call my Swap-bot Fabric Stash. That is any fabric I receive in Swap-bot swaps. When I get enough collected and I find a stretch of time that is not busy, I am going to take my Swap-bot fabric and work on some type of quilting project with just that fabric. So, your rainbow fabric will be included. Your red ribbon you sent will find a home on cards, ATCs or even on a Skinny. The yellow matchbox and purple beads will go in my Monochromatic box where I keep items that are in the same color families. I just want you to know that your items sent are being used.
