About Me

Hey Everyone!
My family & I moved from CO to WA at the end of February. We had not had internet available since the move, until the beginning of November.
Now that I am back online & have been able to login, I marked all the swaps sent that I mailed as we were moving. (If you look below I was rated way back when.) I also made all the ratings for the items I rec'd back then too.
I knew there were two swaps that had not been mailed before I last had access. I have PMed my partners directly. (one is now on it's way - the other partner has not logged in since.)
You can email me directly if needed as well & the real email is thru gmail.

I am a SAHM in NW Washington. We have two little girls, a second grader and a almost 3 year old, so it is ALWAYS interesting around here. Mommy works nights and Daddy works days, then I recently joined the ranks of Tupperware....

I love purple & am from Texas, hence the name I chose. It is so far my name most everywhere.

Favorite Television

I watch all the CSI type shows, anything that has a mystery or who done it type feel to the show.
NCIS, NCIS:LA, Bones, CSI, CSI:Miami, CSI:NY & I am a Survivor addict now too.
However, when it is not prime time TV - I am always on Food Network, Discovery or History.

Favorite Crafts

I am a quilter, and I also crochet. I am getting back into cross stitch full time now. In the past I have also tried needle point and various other crafts as well.
The quilting is coming in handy with the chilly nights here in Washington. We have at least two quilts for each bed, not counting the several lap sized ones throughout the house.
I have been painting glass ornaments for my own and my family's trees for several years.
I also am requested to do crocheted dishcloths for most of the family every year.
I think I have gotten myself hooked on amigurumi & biscornus.

Received a knit book for christmas '08 - am TRYING to learn now, but it has been really slow going.

Favorite Books

I love to read.
James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell, Michael Crighton, Anne Rice, Charlaine Harris, Laurell K Hamilton... I have a WIDE range of tastes in my books.
I am working on getting a full list of works from each of the main authors I read posted on my Lists blog.

Likes & Dislikes

  • I love Happy Bunny.
  • I like almost all crafty things.
  • I love lizards, turtles & Pocket Dragons.
  • I collect keychains & small (under 2ft) windchimes.
  • I am a big candle person. I like most calmer scents when it comes to candles, or things that REALLY smell like baked goods. Like a good pumpkin pie or cinnamon roll.
  • I like Vanilla & Coconut scented things, and if I can find something that has those to scents combined - ALL THE BETTER!
  • I welcome homemade Christmas ornaments year round. There has not yet ever been a theme to our tree.
  • I love to cook, use my crock pot year round and have a husband who also likes to cook (and BAKE) so recipes are always fun too.
  • I have at times considered myself a pen hoarder. I love all the pen, pencils, markers, highlighters. I can get lost on that isle in the office store for hours. -- The new Sharpie Pens are AWESOME!!
  • I am a bumper sticker person, but they never seem to end up on my car. (I rationalize that we will be getting a new car soon... well we were supposed to be.)
  • I have collected pin back buttons since around age 11. I participated in "Hands Across America" and still have the button from it.

  • I do not like anything Licorice, be it flavored or scented. I tried Ouzo ONCE - never again.
  • I do not like coffee in any form. No mocha flavored chocolate, espresso cake. Anything with even a hint of coffee is lost on me.

Wish List

OK - I keep seeing them, so I figured it was time to add one:

  • Amigurumi patterns (especially ones you have created)
  • cotton yarn
  • Fabric scraps at least 2.5" square (working on EPP hexagon charm style quilt - not true charm as there are repeats)
  • Hot Chocolate (as long as it has no coffee flavor)
  • Purple fabric scraps at least 3" square (working on an all purple, totally scrappy quilt)
  • Happy Bunny things
  • Unique key chains
  • Small Cross Stitch patterns, things that can be adapted for Biscornu under 75 stitches total.

The Kids

Eldest was born in 2002
She is into all the girly things, like Barbie, Strawberry Shortcake, Littlest Pet Shop & Polly Pocket. Her favorite colors are (in order) Yellow, Pink & Purple, and they are usually expressed as one word all run together just in that order.

Baby was born in 2007
She is into just about everything & has recently discovered she likes to color. She has trucks and dolls, because we did not want to gender bias either of the kids.

We do not do any Dora, or Bratz at our house... and NO BARNEY! My daughter has given back toys with these characters... or kept them in their box & donated them at Christmas to the toy drive.

PurpleTX: I have known for years that there are many wonderful people in this world, and a lot of them are right here on Swap-bot. Your kind and generous offer to join a group of special angels --- helping me to make and send a total of 210 handmade ornaments for those who were flaked on in the MEGA Christmas 2009 Ornament Swap --- is VERY much appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. If I can ever do anything to help you out in return, please let me know. (“;) Hugs, Terry

Amanda: I'm so glad you liked the dotee. I had fun making her for you (and figured you'd enjoy the extra fabric for your purple quilt project). Have fun!

I very much enjoyed your 10 lists of 10 swap! My favorite is "List of 100 I actually want to write." If you ever do the any of those, pass them my way! Made me think of some really fun private swaps!

Hi! You are more then welcome for listing you as a good swapper on my list. Like I say on there, I don't just have to list the bad ones. When I feel a swapper went above and beyond on what was required and a 'MERE' heart was not enough, I think an added mention in my favorite peeps section is in order. I would love to do a swap with you anytime. I love lip balm, however I have no idea where to find the kind you are specifically looking for. LOL Happy Holidays!!
