I am a happily married, 26 year old elementary art teacher who has finally learned to embrace her slight southern drawl after 15 years in the South. I have been an avid craftsperson all my life, but spend most of my time doing fiber arts.
I LOVE (in no particular order): knitting, crocheting, spinning, felt, sewing, buttons, wearing heels, embroidery, using brand new Prisma colored pencils and Sharpies, cooking/baking, UFC, milk cartons, Art-o-mat, gnomes, reading, art nouveau, graffiti, irony, mountains, sweater weather, Catholic iconography, looking at bookshelves in magazines to see what books other people own, NYC, printmaking, folk art, Etsy, ceramics, craft shows, the color wheel
Some of my favorite artists: Andy Warhol, Wayne Thiebaud, Robert Doisneau,Tim Hawkinson, Georgia O’Keeffe, Sandy Skoglund, Edward Hopper, Pablo Picasso,
Fibers of any kind. I spin yarn, knit, crochet, needlework, felt, sew...the list could go on and on. Most of my fiber stuff I sell so I probably won't do a lot of fiber swaps. I just recently started making ATCs and I really want to jump start my collection. I love the size of ATCs and the intimate quality they have.
I love reading, so much so I started writing my own novel. Tom Robbins is awesome. I got the screen name Bonanzajellybean from 'Even Cowgirls get the Blues.' I also love Janet Evanovich and her Stephanie Plum series; she makes me want to be a bounty hunter.
The Office, 30 Rock, Heroes, UFC
I love all kinds of rock: indy, blues, metal, experimental, classic. I repecially love collecting music on vinyl, long live the record player!
Currently Listening to: Black Keys, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The National, Artic Monkeys, Cold War Kids, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Rilo Kiley, Spoon, The New Pornographers, Black Lips, The Velvet Underground, The Raconteurs, Blondie
