$10 or Less Etsy Swap Wishlist: https://www.etsy.com/people/WildNorthStudio/favorites/10-or-less?ref=favsindex12
~Hi swappers!! If I've been your partner pleeeeease leave me a rating...trying to get to do some more swaps on here and it's hard if you don't have ratings! Thanks 💚 Also to my partners - please be patient on your packages. I live at an APO address, and things take a bit longer to get to you even though it's all within the USPS system. I always ship either first-class (normal letters) or priority for bigger items so it should be there as fast as possible! ~
Hello! I live in the beautiful New River Valley, on the west side of the state of Virginia. I'm a pretty quiet person in real life, I read, go hiking, camping, and letterboxing whenever I possibly can, book-obsessed, compulsive maker of many things, animal and nature lover, and collector of all things paper, fountain pen, fabric, coffee, washi tape, and a few other oddball things. I work as a medic and love LOVE my job. Right now I have one huge and crazy rescued cat and another, smaller, kinder rescued cat. I've been involved in both dog sports and dog rescue but sadly my current circumstances don't allow for either! One day soon, I hope another golden retriever will come share my life. I'm married to the most awesome guy in the world who also happens to be my best friend. He may not participate in all my obsessed crafting but he supports everything I do and I definitely wouldn't be where I am today,(pursuing all my dreams, without him.
I like taking time to stop and smell the roses, to appreciate the beauty in the small things in life. I think you can find something positive about almost everything if you try hard enough.
Not religious, but I can appreciate the different traditions and beliefs of many parts of the world and am a firm advocate of tolerance.
Reading, writing letters (yes, old fashioned snail-mail letters), Postcrossing, knitting, quilting, gardening, cross-stitching, baking, spinning, hiking, biking, letterboxing, reading, scrapbooking, rubber stamping, did I mention reading yet? As before mentioned, obsessed with books, coffee, tea, and all things fiber (yarn/fabric/thread) or paper arts related. I'm just starting to use Project Life and love all the prettiness - also the simplicity!
I love batiks and modern (not novelty) prints. Solids or fabrics that read as solid. Greens, blues, and purples in all shades are my favorite. I also like 1930s reprint style fabrics (like American Jane, by Moda), typography, and TULA PINK - yes, worthy of the caps because she is my all-time favorite fabric designer. But, I love fabric in general so if you don't have something in this vein I'm sure I'll find a use or a swap for it! :D
Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, anything by Agatha Christie (and mysteries in general), LotR by Tolkien, Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon (ob.sess.ed.) the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik, Jane Austen, the Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield, anything by Gail Carriger, the Dante Club by Matthew Pearl...mysteries in general, and children's or YA fiction like Inkheart, Crispin and the Cross of Lead, the Bronze Bow, etc., P.G. Wodehouse, Elizabeth Peters, Janet Evanovich (guilty pleasure :P).
Big Bang Theory, Ghost Hunters, Outlander (!!!) and Sherlock. My tastes are very limited, because for the most part I dislike knowing I have hours and hours of sitting in front of a TV before (hopefully, maybe!) getting some story resolution.
“Don't be afraid. There's the two of us now.†― Jamie Fraser (Diana Gabaldon, Outlander)
"We have never talked together the way we have sometimes in letters. Why do I meet people better in letters?" ~Anne Morrow Lindbergh
"I stand in Minas Anor, the Tower of the Sun; and behold! the Shadow has departed! I will be a shieldmaiden no longer, nor vie with the great Riders, nor take joy only in the songs of slaying. I will be a healer, and love all things that grow and are not barren." ~Eowyn
"I can’t help but fly up on the wings of anticipation. It almost pays for the thud." ~Anne Shirley, from Anne of Avonlea, by L.M. Montgomery
"It is never too late to be what you might have been." ~ George Eliot
"Goodness is about what you do. Not what you pray to." ~ Miss Beedle, in Terry Pratchett’s Snuff
I collect books, postcards (favorites are travel views, UNESCO, holiday, anything book/library/mail related but I love any and all), geocoins, fabric, ATCs, postal stamps, rubber stamps, fountain pens and inks, and stationery. I love antique anything but I'm not sure you can call that a collection...
Cross-stitching...I only use DMC or hand-dyed threads (desperately trying to grow my stash of hand-dyeds). Don't use Aida, only linen or evenweaves. I would love to try using silks but haven't been brave enough yet. Favorite designers are Little House Needleworks, Joan Elliott, Mirabilia, Lizzie Kate, Glendon Place, Alessandra Adelaide, and pretty much anything Halloween. I'm not too picky though, if you have something outside my list I will find a use for it, I promise!
