Total "homemade" freak......

I am a 36 year old crafting addict. Mother to 2 (my daughter is @activista here on Swap Bot) and still in love, with my best friend, after 19 years. I also have a niece that stays with us a great deal of the time, she is 10 years old. I live in Alaska and love it. We live with 7 Felinius Domesticus (cats), four of whom we rescued from some situation or another. I am a huge fan of baseball (most especially the Atlanta Braves) and the Olympics and I collect all kinds of odds and ends...books, quilts, witches, faeries, dragons, cats, pigs, cows, keychains, all things celtic, salt & pepper shakers and on and on....I adore the US Constitution and the law and work in the criminal defense world by day and as a community volunteer by night. I love hanging out with my family (includes very large extended family) we play a lot - softball, kickball, kick-the-can, bowling - whatever the mood is and all ages, FUN, FUN!!

I enjoy all types of crafting...I think I have "Craft A.D.D.", cooking/baking, candy making, soap-making, jewelry making, cross-stitch and embroidery, recycling old into new and on and on.....I started my first garden, a container garden, spring/summer '08 and even though we had the worst summer, I still loved it and will keep on diggin'. I've recently purchased my first sewing machine and have set myself a goal to learn how to use it - it's taking waaay longer than planned ;-)

I have a large personal library for those long, cold winters. I pretty much will read anything, but particularly enjoy Mark Twain, Thomas Paine, Harper Lee, Arthur Miller, James Fenimore Cooper, Jane Austen, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Edgar Allan Poe, Christine Feehan, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Kresley Cole, Christine Warren, David McCullough, Ann Rule, John Douglas, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Dr. Suess - just to name a few.......(I know, huh? Very, very eclectic - I just love to read!)...

Okay, so the best bands ever are....The Who and AC/DC (just don't ask which is best - I could debate it for hours and still not reach a concensus...) but if I had to choose just ONE "type" of music it would have to be the blues...I also enjoy EVERYTHING (even swing/big band, classical, gospel, etc.) else with the exception of rap and country (I absolutely cannot stand country music, the worst vacation ever was in Nashville, TN).

Movies? In Alaska we watch a lot of movies - hard to pick a favorite (Yea Netflix!) but ones that I'll watch over and over again?? Fargo, Tommy, Deterrence, Romance and Cigarettes, The Contender, To Kill a Mockingbird, McClintock, Rent, Chicago, Grease, Rocky Horror Picture Show.....just too many!!!

Favorite all time t.v. was Homicide: Life on the Street and The Muppet Show (love, love, LOVE Jim Hensen). I currently enjoy Weeds, Dexter and, right now, I'm a total Gleek!! Their musical numbers are amazing!!! Love it!!!

Colors.....I like all colors except pink (I'm a redhead)

Candy....I think that I am the only person in the world who thinks that chocolate and mint do not belong together...but, if I don't like it, someone in my family will -- it's all good....
