About Me

I reuse packaging.

PLEASE NOTE: Please don't confuse me with "iheartswap" on here or "iheartswap" on Flickr (not me). Sorry for the confusion, I should have been more creative with my user name ;)

I'm using my swap energy & time mostly on the wishlist group. I think it's a wonderful idea to grant wishes & send someone a little happiness. If you haven't checked it out yet, I recommend doing so :)

FOR SWAPS: I will ALWAYS send a swap and it will be on time. If I can't make the deadline, you will hear from me first. If you haven't received a swap from me, please contact me before rating me and I will make it right. I swap to delight myself & others.

I'm married to my high-school sweetheart and raise children full-time (3 little boys). I also work part-time at a bookstore (for sanity and pleasure).

I enjoy MANY genres and styles of art & also crafts. I have to create SOMETHING everyday; I can't sleep otherwise. I'm outgoing and social, but only have a few close friends. I try to live a simple life. Our family is part of a CSA farm, which nourishes our bodies and soul.

I frequent thrift stores, parks, farmer's markets, coffee shops, and anywhere books are sold. I have a healthy addiction to tote bags, paper, coffee & tea, owls, the color brown, and swapping.

Please send a note along with your swap so I know a bit about you, but also so I know which swap it's for ;)

Favorite Crafts

Paper crafts. Rubber stamping. Altered books. Altered & recycled art projects. Handmade & unique journals. Journaling. Handmade magnets. Sewing felt items. I recently had to sell my sewing machine :( so now I'm sewing everything by hand--which is okay.

Favorite Music

Folk, rock, alternative. My stand-bys are Wilco, Norah Jones, Ellis Paul, Woody Guthrie, Nickel Creek, The Shins, The Raconteurs, Amos Lee, Jake Armerding, The White Stripes, Iron & Wine, among many others.

General Favorites

TO RECEIVE: altered items, surprises for my boys, handmade items

COLLECTIONS: OWLS, Scrabble tiles, cute handmade mini plushies, decorated matchboxes & altoid tins

FOOD & DRINK: trail mix, dark chocolate, JellyBellys, all fruit, green vegetables, tea, and wine.

COLORS: Brown(!), orange, red, and green.

BOOKS: Classic children's literature and fairy tales (not Disney). I also enjoy memoirs and cultural studies books. Working in a bookstore exposes me to SO many books, it's hard to narrow it down to a 'writable' list.

HOBBIES: Reading, journaling, creating, rubber stamping, crafting, thrifting, swapping ;)

GAMES: Cribbage, Crosswords, Euchre, Pinochle, Scrabble, Yatzee

SCENTS: Clean & Citrus scents and lavender--oh, how I love lavender

ANIMAL: Owls & little birds, I also find myself drawn to elephants
