Favorite Crafts

My favorite crafts are paper anything! I like stamping (I am not into cutesy scenes or animals and I am not into country type of stuff), scrapbooking, card making, collages, etc. Also, I love making beaded bookmarks.

Favorite Books

I am so into historical fiction. Its not funny! I especially like anything written about British history. For some reason, I am totally enthralled with Henry VIII. My favorite authors are Philippa Gregory and Nicole Galland but I read authors based on their book. The all time favs are Jane Austen and Agatha Christie. My absolute favorite book is The Other Boleyn Girl. Also, I really liked the Wildacre series by the same author. Books that touch me in someway end being a favorite. Sometimes, I like an easy read like Isis Crawford's A Catered Halloween.

About Me

I enjoy reading, crafting and socializing with my few close friends. I am a lover of trees. I can't get enough of them so I travel long and wide to see them. I enjoy being close to my sisters and gossiping with them.

One day I hope to travel to my favorite city of London, England. I want to see all the sites associated with Henry VIII. Also, I want to take the Jack the Ripper at Night tour. I want to map out all the sites that Jane Austen wrote about in her books and travel to each one of them. Finally, I want to stay in a castle for the night and feel I have entered into another time. I want to drink in the atmosphere of England and enjoy every drop.

I have a dog that is my little boy. He is a mix of something and terrier. His eyes are the color of his fur. He is a little needy and wants to be in the middle of everything. Nothing is more important than a cookie (dog treat).

Favorite Movies

I like Foo Foo movies. Again, movies that are historical in theory like all of the Jane Austen movies, BBC, and PBS. My first foo foo movie was Dangerous Liaisons and that opened to Pride and Prejudice. I really like the Agatha Christie movies made by Acorn. My favorite at this time is Murder is Announced. I tend to watch the same movies over and over so that I can create with noise in the background.

Favorite Television

I have two types of TV I like to watch. One is true crime like Court TV and investigation programming and a few reality shows. My all time favorite show is Project Runway. I like it because it is based on talent not being sneaky. Also, I like Top Chef.

I finally grown up and got a DVR. LOVE it. Whatever did I do without it?

Things I like and dislike

As much as I love food, PLEASE do not send food from May to end of November due to the hot weather in Phoenix. It will melt and get all over everything! Thanks for the thought but I like to get my interesting and cool stuff non-messy.

Love:

  1. I just bought a shabby chic looking tall dresser. It's perfectly me. I went looking for my books about shabby chic and want to redo my house. However, I have a husband that is dragging his feet with this but if I do little by little, I think I can do it. I am going back to my basic colors that I have always loved but had to put on a shelf so that my husband isn't too foo fooed out. (That his term for girlie, overly girlie.) I like the colors: pink, white, off white, robin egg blue, and sea foam green.

  2. Post Its with funny sayings or just plain ones

  3. Rainy days and clouds

  4. Scrapbook papers from Cosmo Cricket, Fancy Pants, Bo Bunny, Crate Paper, K & Co, Graphic 45, October Afternoon

  5. Rubber stamps with

    • Background patterns

    • Travel

    • Distant lands especially anything depicting England or English things

    • I am just getting into Copics so I am looking for stamps that are just outlines. My favorite is Unity.

    • Artsy depictions of people

    • Snowmen

  6. Bling. I am into anything sparkly. Ooh, I need to glitter! (But I don't need any more glitter. It will take over!)

  7. Red and Yellow Buttons without shanks. I would like any kind but not the kid kind.

  8. Non-nylon ribbons in white or off white with different white on white patterns, ruffles, just interesting ribbons in lengths between 1 to 2 yds.

  9. Doughnuts. Did I mention doughnuts?

  10. Vintage pictures, real ones not photo copies

  11. Anything Halloween. I love haunted houses images. I am not into too cutesy Halloween images but cutesy haunted houses are okay.

  12. Copic markers. I just took a class and I am hooked.

  13. I would like brochures from different places that would be interesting to visit. I would like especially like ones from overseas. I am dreamer at heart and would like to dream of place that I might visit one day. Let me travel vicariously through you!

I know that these are rather expensive so I am listing them because I would like them only if you are so inclined.

  1. StazOn reinkers:

    • Ultramarine
    • Vibrant Violet
    • Teal Blue
    • Blazing Red
    • Royal Purple
  2. StazOn Pads: Pumpkin, Olive Green, Cherry Pink

  3. Ranger Adirondack Reinkers

    • Denim
    • Eggplant
    • Stonewashed
    • Currant
    • Pesto
    • Meadow
    • Ginger
    • Terra Cotta
    • Bottle
  4. Distressed Ink Reinkers: Peeled Paint, Age Mahogany, Antique Linen

  5. Edgar Allan Poe Postage Stamps

Dislike:

  1. stickers for scrapbooking
  2. cartoons
  3. chic flicks
  4. cute fuzzy stuffed animals
  5. small things that need to be dusted (since I live in the desert, there is a lot of dust!)
  6. self help books,
  7. jewelry especially earrings since I don't have have holes for them
  8. science fiction/fantasy books
  9. vampires and other supernatural figures in books and other things like stickers, journals, etc.
  10. I don't need any more journals or paper pads since I have received a lot
  11. charms and beads since I am moving away from beading and more into paper crafting
  12. anything too cutesy for scrapbooking

Comment: Thank you, Lisa! An add'l note to my rating: Someone asked why I'd leave a 5 rating in Oct for a swap that was due in April. So just to clarify, the pc did arrive in October, but it WAS postmarked "11 APR 11". I have no idea why it took 6 months for a pc to travel from Arizona to Georgia, but it does appear the postal machine scraped my street address a bit so maybe that was the delay. Although the legible zip+4 was apparent and should have been more than sufficient to deliver in a more timely manner. I chalk this delay to postal error and no fault of the sender which is why I gave a 5 rating instead of a 3.

Ha! I'm glad you made it to Melrose Vintage--I know, I didn't appreciate wanting everything either--I spend too much money in there. If you're ever in Mesa, and you like vintage looking stuff, a fun place is Mystic Paper. And if you ever go to San Diego, Paper Tales is a great place too.

Lisa! I'm your partner for the Big Fat Stuffed Envelope swap coming up, and how disappointing for you--I live in MESA! I should just drive it over to you..haha! Hey, have you ever been to Melrose Vintage? I just found that place a few months ago and I love it!! lettergirl Jamie Cassidy

Hello!! I sent off your postcard for the Quotecard Postcard #34 on Tuesday night, but being the silly that I am, I forgot to put the swap name or my username on it... So, without wanting to give away too much information on it, it's the Irish themed postcard with stars drawn on. Sorry for the bother, hope that's OK! Fiona (:
