Comment: Thank you! What a special card!
I hope your dad is doing better. My dad has also been unwell recently, spending too much time in the hospital. Sending all the positive things to your dad and you.
Response: Ah, thanks. He's working on it! He won't admit it, but his stay in the hospital did a world of good. He just likes complaining about it. I hope things with your dad improve. It's not fun to be in and out of the hospital.
Comment: Thank you! I'm sorry you've had some stressful times recently. I visit family other times during the year and have a very low-key holiday with just my husband and pup. No gifts, no pressure, no rushing...I do miss being home for the holidays, but getting the opportunity to relax is wonderful.
Comment: I really love every postcard I have gotten from you so far! Thank you so much! My family is such a hodgepodge of different ancestries that I haven’t really considered doing any sort of genealogy research so I don’t have many recommendations for you. My only advice - if you are willing to take the risks associated with genetic testing, shop around - the lab work itself is cheap (I worked in a lab that did DNA research for a university) but you get what you pay for :)
Comment: I really love this PC - it’s so unique! Definitely not your traditional Christmas PC!! But who knows, in a 100 years, people will probably say the same thing about the cards we consider run of the mill now :) Thank you!
Comment: Thank you for the pretty card and your care and concern over the wildfires. We are in a safe area at this time. The smoke from the fires has settled on our area and the air quality is really bad. The wind is suppose to kick up again tonight. I hope things stay under control.
Comment: Where the hell did you have a Y card all ready from? Wow...put all my 3 I sent to shame. Also, did you know your post office puts a special Cat in the Hat/holiday postmark? I haven't seen that anywhere else, that's super cool. I'm sorry to hear you've had a less than stellar year. Just a few more weeks and it'll all be over--hopefully 2018 is a little more gracious. ♡ Glad to hear from you again.
Comment: Thank you for the awesome pc! That is awesome that you are getting into genealogy. I go to antique stores and buy pictures. it's amazing the family stories that you find behind the pictures! my favorite era so far is 1900-1920's (pretty creepy stuff)
Comment: Thank you for the elephant pc! I appreciate this :) My house didn't have any damage in the earthquake but many buildings and houses collapsed :( things are getting better, a lot of people are helping out, thanks for asking.
Comment: Hello Brian,
Thank you for your Miss Magic Postcard you sent me for this Alphabet Swap. I don't know these books but sound fun. It is GREAT that you have favorite books you remember from your childhood. Do you still have them?
Comment: Brian, sorry for the delay in rating; this was accidentally put in my 'already rated' box and I just discovered it. I was in Oklahoma once for my son's boot camp graduation. The people we met along the way were very friendly! Thanks for a beautiful PC!
Response: That's too early for Title Wave... it's in the Northern Lights Shopping Center in Spenard (at Northern Lights & Minnesota). I love Anchorage. It's such a laid back place. I also worked at the GIGANTIC JC Penny's downtown for a short time. The time you were there is the exact time I know nothing. My dad grew up in Palmer, but he left in 1969 and visited his sister periodically in the 70s, and then not again until 1999. I lived there 2005-2013.
Comment: I will have to check out your selections, because I am not familiar with any of them. I'm sure I have probably heard them and don't even realize it though, especially since I recognize the bands. Thanks for the lovely card!
Comment: Dear Brian,
Thank you so much for the postcard! I love the card and it is so cool to realize that you have mad the card yourself! The weather is getting cold, please stay warm and enjoy swapping!
Comment: Thank you for sharing with me your charming, whimsical duck National Postcard Week card (I don't know how I missed this... next year I'll have to participate!) and the great stormy weather :) I agree, as long as there are no floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc., I do love rainy, dark weather, especially if a cold front ensues :)
Comment: Brian, thank you for the postcard of the Boston Light Lighthouse. I have never been in this one but have taken boat rides to see it when I live in Massachusetts. New one to my collection. Again thanks a lot, Shirley
Comment: Brian. Thank you for sending your city flag postcard. I hope you succeed in bringing back you city's flag. Our is a symbol of a bear which New Bern stands for and it is displayed on everything and every where. Shitley
Comment: Thanks for a great card. You couldn't have known, but my husband got his Masters at Rice in Houston, which makes him a Rice Owl, and his Boy Scout totem is also an owl, so you couldn't have sent a better card! It may wind up framed and on the wall over his desk, who knows. So, many thanks and you definitely got a heart!
Comment: Super cute bat card!! Thanks for participating in my swap! <3
Cool fact! I remember in highschool a bat flew in the girls locker room lol but I've loved bats before then. And that bat stamp!! love it MEGA HEARTS!!
Comment: Thank you so much for the darling Piggy PC! It is fairly cool for Houston right now but it took a hurricane/tropical storm to make it that way. We are doing fine but many many areas of Houston are seeing record flooding.
Response: I can't believe the card I sent you! I didn't mean for it to be prophetic. Please stay safe.
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful card! I live in the high desert of Oregon, and the summer here has been around 90 degrees average, but it drops to as low as 40 overnight. First you cook and then you freeze! LOL
Comment: Brian, thank you for the postcard and for putting the JFK stamp on it. Our August weather has been terrible. It has been in the 90's for the most part with very high humidity and rain showers everyday. Not good beach weather. Shirley
Comment: I am listening to Mr. Bowie's "Fashion" as I type this: Belated, belated thank you for hosting this amazing swap (that cat meme is one of the best T_T) and for sending such a fabulous and fabulously-adorned card -- what a headdress! And I love the De La Renta stamp, washi, drawings, lettering, and stickers :) I have missed seeing you in my inbox and hope our paths cross again soon ♥
Response: Thanks for the kind words. I needed a small break, but I'm back to it this week. I hope to see you in swaps
Comment: I don't think Schmump cares aout anyone else thna himself so he's only interested in things concerning himself, boohoo if someone else gets hurt in the way. Be it one person or a whole nation :/ I hope he'll either get impeached or 4 years goes by REALLY fast!
Comment: a no thinking painting party sounds super fun. how are they ran? what did you make? hope you had fun.
Response: We did sort of an altered version of Shannon Green's Journaling by 5s (http://shannongreen.blogspot.com/2015/02/journaling-by-5s.html). . We were also inspired by a couple of Jennibellie videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVopeG2lo9E & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wy9EsMhgams ... We did 10 backgrounds for paintings. We did swap 5 each halfway through too, so some of mine aren't only by me. It was fun and now i have a clear direction for 10 paintings to complete later.
Comment: Thank you! I love(!) the Harvey Milk stamp!! My PO never has these when I keep asking for them LOL...I keep wanting to order them online but don't get around to it. I'll host this swap again soon, just so you know if you want to sign up again. :)
Comment: Thank you so much for the postcard! I love the goose stamp! I didn't even notice the walgreens logo on it until I read it. Hey if you don't want it I'll take it :P (teasing). Which tools did you use to make your stamp?
Response: That stamp was a cheap eraser, so I just drew my image in pencil and then used an X-acto knife. I'm going to try foam next, which I understand you can carve into with a sharpened pencil.
Comment: Brian, nice to swap with you again - it's been a long time and I always loved your cards. Thank you for the lovely postcard. I can't stand the cooler weather but I am glad you're enjoying it. Here in Florida, it's been usually cold but hoping that this is the last of winter. Hope all is well.
Comment: Wow, Brian, what a treat to find your wonderful card in my mailbox! Your hand drawn & painted merman is lovely and then you top it off with that great poem by ee cummings, who is a favorite of mine. I love that you continued the sea theme on the address side of the card as well. Thank you so very much.
Comment: Hello Brian,
Thank you so much for the lovely card you created by coloring the postcard. I really love the colors of the flower and its leaves. I look forward to adding this postcard to my Colored Postcards Collection. Thank you for your nice note. It sounds like you are close to your Mom. I lost my Mom 2 years ago to cancer. I was very close to her.
Comment: Thank you for the handmade postcard, Brian. I like a nice created handmade postcard. On postcrossing I often sent my handmade postcards and a majority of postcrossers loved them:) I stopped postcrossing, because of the odd demands of certain commercial cards:(
glad you could derive something from my sucky profile ... as you similarly 'dislike disliking stuf'f, i HEAR you, bro'
yes, once i squeeze out a few recognizable groups to list as likes, you bet i'm not gonna want to try to figure out more, hehe.
yay for writing & vegan stuffs/luv the banyan!
Comment: Thank you for the very nice postcard featuring a flying squirrel. You asked about envelopes....I bought a envelope template at Michaels and actually just freehand ones using the paper of old calenders. It is very relaxing. Good luck in all you do.
Comment: Brian, I love so much about this postcard. Thank you so much!!! Oh, my long lost blog! I don't know why, but it hasn't let me access it in years. 😕 I do miss it. You write a great note, Brian. I like that you used multiple stamps too. All different! Here's to getting unstuck. Yep, me too! 😉ðŸ‘
Comment: Brian, I absolutely LOVE the shark postcard!! It seriously is one of my favorites I have ever received! Thank you thank you!! I also think it's so funny you enjoy yellow. I'll keep that in mind any time I need to purge it out of my collection! Lots of hearts, Analise :)
Comment: Wow! I really appreciate the time an effort you took to make this postcard 😊😊😊💜 i love it. Not only is it handmade which you absolutely diddnt have to do, but its of a mermaid !! 💛💛 i especially apprieciate the crab bra. Lol too funny. Thank you again!!
Response: It was fun to do. I'm glad you liked it.
Comment: Hi Brian! Thank you for your undesirable postcard (Apollo 11 Launch)! I actually think it's one of the coolest cards I have received yet. No worries about the stamp, I love the card just the same. Cheers, Analise :)
Comment: Hi Brian! TY for the nice vintage pc - I was so sorry to read your message and yes, the loss of family or friends that become family is never easy and it is very emotionally draining. I hope sweet memories will get you through this rough time - sending big hugs!
Comment: Belated thank you for this charming, hilarious Jetoy Choo Choo as Alice card, one of my favorites :) I totally agree with your assessment of it! I think it's the blonde bob and little black bow headband that make me laugh the most =^_^= I also love your whimsical flower decoration and Mad Tea Party Tenniel stamp-sticker!
Comment: Thank you for the colorful, hilarious, onomatopoeic Roger Hargreaves card adorned with sparkly Valentine's hearts and for sharing our roommate's kindness as you recuperated :) Hope you are feeling better!
Comment: Thank you for the beautifully detailed vintage Spanish stamp card and sticker, Brian, and for your too-kind message! I have been inspired by fellow swappers and Postcrossing partners to explore different ways to decorate my cards :)
Comment: Thank you for the clean, crisp view of the Portland Museum of Art (it reminds me of a Magritte painting, with the seemingly-open-ended upper facade), lovely Alice, rabbit, and floral stickers, and your curlicued hand :) I agree, there are certain numbers that I prefer writing than others! Happy almost-weekend!
Comment: Thank you for the cute cat postcard! I love the sci-fi stamps, too! And thank you for writing horizontally on the postcard, even though it wanted you to write vertically...my post-lady would have made me pay extra :( Thank you!
Comment: Thank you, Brian, for the great poem!! :D I also absolutely loved the postcard!! <3 <3 <3 It is really difficult for me to find non touristy postcards in my town, you see..! So, extra thank you for that!! :D I wish you a great day!! ^_^
Comment: Wow! I love the orignial card! Your original bird reminds me of a book I had as a child called "The Ice Cream Cone Coot" - it was full of odd, made up birds & animals. I loved that book, and I think I still have it. :)
Response: I thought I had never heard of that book, but I looked it up and it is very familiar. I spent several years in the Children's section of a used bookstore, so I either remember it from there or from my childhood.
Comment: Yes, this is a beautiful card - I actually have it in my PC collection! Well, I should say HAD. Once my mom saw it in the mail I had to come up off it because she wanted to keep the one you sent me to frame, lol. Thanks again!
Comment: Hi Brian! So glad you are swapping cards again. It is always so nice to go home and find a smile in the mailbox. I lived most of my life in WV and still work there each week day. We have only called OH home for a couple of years. Take care! Jan
Comment: Your foil card is beautiful! and the enamel stickers on the envelope are so pretty. I've always wanted to send a card to a swapper that says "love you" and have been too shy. It made me so happy!
Response: I was on the fence about the "love you", but I decided that Valentine's warranted it... I'm trying to not overthink my swaps. I used to do that and they'd take me hours to complete.
Comment: Thank you for your kind Lunar New Year wishes, the stunning and still view of the snowy Imperial Gardens (I would love to visit!), and smile-eliciting Cheshire Cat and daisy stickers, Brian :)
Comment: Thank you for the great vintage pc. I love the old ones. We didn't get anything but rain from that "ice storm of the century" that they kept talking about. I think you guys probably got more than we did.
Comment: Wow Brian! Fabulous multi, Multi-view PC showing map and views of Mallorca! I'm happy because this postcard will become part of my display of postcards in my apt. Fun swap, I enjoy doing these PC swaps. Happy New Year - '2017 to you!
Comment: Got the PC in today's mail :) Oh you are so lucky you are not living up here this year! :) You know the Dome there on the southside of Anchorage? It collapsed from the weight of the snowfall the other day. Anchorage area has gotten hit pretty hard with the snow. We up here in Fairbanks are dealing with -40 temps, but thankfully hasn't hung around the -60 this year - that was tooooo cold haha! Nice to see the sunlight during the day again though :) getting brighter and brighter on our drive to work in the morning :) Thank you for the postcard :)
Comment: It's so strange to see an image of someone smoking in a restaurant these days. It's been maybe 15 years since I remember being asked "smoking or non" at a diner. Ah, the good old days. Hopefully your weather is improving in OK. Ice storms are a completely justifiable reason to stay in the house and lounge around!
Comment: Well, you've gone and done it! Your PC just hit the top of my MY FAV PC list! Luv, luv, luv this card....her beauty is heartwarming, inspiring, and authentic. My ancestry is full of Native American women, and you had no idea. I should send you a pic of my great grandmother, who lived to 107...(alone at home until 100). I cherish the five generation photos... such a gift...what a woman. Thanks for the delight you've given me, swap friend! Hugs and hearts...jinanne
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you liked it. It must've known who wanted it. I had that one over a year and was waiting for the right person to send it to.
Comment: Brian, you sir are funny. I got a kick out of your "d"arkness card. Either I have a strange sense of humor or this was just genius. :) Thanks for a good chuckle. It's been quite a pleasure having you for my swap partner.
Comment: Thank you for the adorable, hilarious Mr. Small and Little Miss Tiny (the story of my life!) card and New Year's greetings, Brian! I, too, am minimizing the negativity in my life this year; I also am aiming to read at least one or two books weekly, incorporating juicing/vegetables and eliminate refined carbohydrates, and get back into running after a yearlong hiatus.
Comment: Wow Brian, I was surprised to receive another envie from you. I was happy with the PC, but wanted to rate honestly. Thank you for resending. I love the goodies, the "hottie" stickers made me LOL very much. Apparently Hallmark in the US is way more exciting than Hallmark up here. haha
Response: I can't believe I did that! I'm happy to make a new one. I'll get a correct one out today.
Comment: Thank you for the cute card and telling me your favorite songs this year. Mine have been Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas performed by a collaboration of my favorite artists listed as The Holidaze.
Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful Christmas card! My favorite song for this time of year is Winter Song by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson. Not very Christmasy, but I love it! Have a magical Christmas!
Response: I almost put white winter hymnal by pentatonix as one of my favs... Also not very Christmassy, but I love it
Comment: My Favorite Christmas song would be "The Christmas Song, sung by Nat King Cole followed by a close 2nd to Its a Holly Jolly Christmas with Burl Ives..What is yours?...Thank you and Merry Christmas
Comment: Thank you. My plans for 2016 is to get a better job. I'm hoping to make and sell soap so I don't have to get up early and clock in and have someone boss me around.
Response: Oh, I so hope you get to make soap. My brother recently met a young girl who does that in OKC. She is being homeschooled so she can make soap during the day. I'm torn about that, but I fully support more making of things.
Comment: Thank you for the card. You asked what we do for Christmas, well it's just the two of us and family lives in other states, so we sometimes go to a friends house for dinner. That's it. Our Christmas isn't like it used to since the kids grew up, got married and started a family of their own. Merry Christmas!
Comment: Hello friend! Merry Christmas to you as well! My boyfriend usually pays for a pair of glasses for me. We are all adults here, right? This year, I think that I will be getting a pair of prescription sunglasses! It will be so nice to see AND be shaded from the sun! Hope all is well on your end! =)
Comment: hmmm...not sure what i would want santa to bring...there was a guy who tried to play "santa" and go down the chimney to steal and he got stuck. then the family lit the fireplace. they saved him by breaking in from the outside of the chimney. he still died...santa freaks me out! sorry about that! your question sort of started me thinking. Merry Christmas! :)
Comment: Brain ~ I love the 'resend' PC you sent - it definitely looks perfect for a mischief night :-) I'm sorry it took awhile for me to rate but I'm downsizing my stuff/junk so I've had people in helping and it's been hectic and tiring so my swaps got a bit buried on my desk as my desk became the spot to put paper stuff as we were packing up. Thanks again for the great PC and hope you had a great Thanksgiving ~~
Comment: Brian - thank you for the neat card! I hope you had a great holiday :) and that the Christmas season brings you lots of happiness and memories! Also, can I tell you that I am in love with your drawing on the card, haha! :)
Comment: Great card! Brought back the time I dropped my camera in front of a white rhino while riding a train at a wildlife park. Luckily, we came back the same way and the camera was there but the rhino wasn't so the driver got it for me, undamaged! Talk about gratitude! Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you for the Deco. I'll get it moving ASAP. Don't forget to include a note with the swap name and your ID next time as it can be difficult to work out which swap the package belongs to. x
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful envelope and the goodies inside. The envelope really put a smile on my face when it landed on my doormat :) I've had you in an other swap, but I think you didn't received it yet. When it takes too long, please let me know so I can send you a new one. I hate it when something you put effort in gets lost in the mail, but it happens quite a lot I've noticed. Greetings & best wishes, Jessika
Response: I'm so glad you liked the mushroom art. My nephew suggested the Mario mushrooms on the back.
Comment: Thank you very much for a terrific atc... I am not sure if you designed it so that the wavy postmark lines were placed that way on purpose but it looks very nice. Thanks for using such a nice stamp on the envelope as well!
Response: I was so fussy about the placement of flowers. The wavy lines were accidental. I thought it was pretty amusing.
Comment: Harry Potter is one of the movies I can watch over n over too! Along with the corpse bride, save the last dance, take the lead , mr n Mrs smith. There's tons more.,, lol thank you for sharing!! :]
Comment: Thank you for the lovely card (again hehe) I love how quirky it is! I am also a lover of everything pumpkin spice (except the frappuccino from Starbucks...I dunno why but I had an allergic reaction to it!) I am also very envios of your porch swing =]
Comment: Brian, thank you for the postcard. I had a hard time finding what swap it was for because I do so many swaps. Please remember to put on the postcards, it makes it so much easier for other swappers. Shirley
Comment: Hey Brian, thank you for the super cute postcard. Despite what you might think, I love mermaids :) I hope that it's cooling down there. Early this week, it was in the 70's but it's supposed to be 90 tomorrow again :( I hope you are making progress with your home<3 Thank you again, be on the lookout for another swap from me later this week lol
Comment: Thank you for the awesome ATC. I love it. :)
Response: I'm glad you liked them. I was afraid I had gone so far out of the box that I had gotten into a different box.
I thought cutting the burlap into ATC size made the skeletons on it look really bizarre. I liked that part a lot.
Comment: Thank you - and - thank you for the pretty postcard and the interesting list of songs - and - thank you for directing me as to where to find the songs, too - That was above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks for everything - Happy day to you .
Comment: Brian, I want to thank you so much for such a beautiful December lady ATC! I display all of my atcs for the appropriate season. Your time that you put into your ATC is greatly appreciated!😀
Comment: Thanks for your great postcard which fits so naturally into the item of your bucket list. What a great aim ! - I hope you achieve it in the not too distant future although I believe regulations etc will continue to dog your final achievement of this item on your bucket list.
Comment: Hi Brian! I love your pc and your perfect day, does sound perfect!! I find my perfect days seem to at times become someone else's perfect day! LOL! When the hubby is home, my time is his time - sigh! Just saying... LOL! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Comment: This is one of my FAVORITE ones so far, thanks so much!
Response: Thanks. That one was hard for some reason... I'm glad you enjoyed it. I am so jealous of your house. I wish I had the guts to make such a bold statement. I'm just moving in, so I'm going to find a way to do something out of the box like that! Thanks for inspiring me.
Comment: Brian, thank you for the amazing postcard! Love the vintage advertisement. Also, thank you for sharing such a unique favorites list -- magnolia is my favorite. I am stopping at the Weeki Wachee (across the street lol) park this upcoming week on my day off so i'm going to pick you up something from the store there! :-) They have awesome postcards too!
Response: You're too kind! I wonder if I'll find something for you... I'll keep my eyes peeled.
Comment: Me again Brian :) Thanks so much for the B&W of the Native American Indian. Great card! Have a wonderful day!
Response: :) I just love Edward S Curtis' photos. The problem with that postcard book is that I love each one more than the last and want to keep them all. I had to force myself to use them; I want others to enjoy his work as well. I have a book for goodness sake. Hoarding! The struggle is real....
Response: I kinda love all 3 of those, but they sure got thick! Sorry about that... It was the first time I tried attaching to a playing card. Lots of extra bulk. I'm hoping to send that character through all 50 states.
