Comment: Received the PC, thank you very much. I just got back from visiting my daughter and grandchildren in Salmon Arm BC, the hottest day I believe is 38°C, a little way too hot for this northern girl. It was nice to come back home to reasonable temperatures of 24°C, but it's awfully smoky to the forest fires.
Good luck with your continued studies. As a mom of the university student who finished a Science degree I know how hard it can be how much work it is. Congratulations on all you've accomplished so far.
Comment: Hi LoraRae, Thanks for a wonderful swap I love everything you sent!! Thanks so much for sending in sets of 3's!! I love the brads, little girl images, so neat, peacocks, cool, I really love the bicycles. And the mermaids, octopus , cats, too funny. Thanks for looking up my likes!! Have a great summer!!
Comment: Hi LoraRae! I just got this today. Apparently it was in the bottom of my carriers' bag!! At least I did get it.... I like the Mountain sky/lake one too. Still trying to figure out what the other one is. Have a great week and happy swapping to you......
Comment: Hi Lora Rae! I absolutely LOVE the flip book!!! Thank you so very much. The postcards and ephemera are wonderful! Such a fantastic swap. :0) The note was very sweet too. I so often hear from people they love being empty nesters. Although I'm getting more used to it, I can't every imagine being happy about it. I appreciate knowing I'm not alone.
Comment: Just received your pocket letter today...I love it, and all the sayings are fine. and I enjoyed reading them. Loved all the little paper goodies and they will be used, for I create notecards for my church family. Have a great afternoon. anita
Comment: Awesome chinstrap penguin PC!! I just watched a nature show about them on Netflix recently - amazing. Yay! Love to hear about recycling, teaching, and art! Oh, I hope you do try Linocuts, they are so wonderful to make. There are safety gloves too :D - I haven't lost finger parts, but the bandages are at the ready - comes with the territory :D!!
Comment: Good job on the ATC--Elvis is a special person in my heart. My kids are named after him, I've got tattoos of him, his music is played daily. :) Also, thanks for the extras---the pcs are fantastic!
Comment: It was an amazing book right down to being wrapped in a sewing pattern (oh my, loved it)!
Such great goodies inside and shipped in a beautiful deco envie too.
My mail carrier delivered it to the door today instead of dropping in the box. She said, "thank you" that all the mail art coming in from all over the different places has really livened up her route. So pretty mail makes "happy" mail for everyone!!
Comment: Thanks so much for such a profile specific bunch of stuff! You chose well for me! I really appreciated this Happy Mail Day. Was hoping for some gelli print, and everything is great! = ) Great execution!
Comment: Hello LoraRae. I received your notecard today...and I must admit I too was surprised to see how close we are. I loved hearing about you and think I love you already...lol. What an exciting story about Alli!!! I drive right by your library every day on the way to work. I work on 56th and 75. Thank you for the little extras. I would absolutely love to have lunch and hear all about the art committee and your library.
Comment: I just love the hand drawn mermaid on the envelope and love the sayings you picked with the pretty coral colored cards! Thanks so much for the cute Alice in Wonderland paper extras too! You spoiled me!
Comment: That is a vintage postcard LoraRae that you sent me! Loved all the space around the hotel which is rare anymore for any city! We are growing as a counttry in population and this shows of another time forever gone! Glad that you can have a rest now from retail and your palm trees sound fabulous in your front yard! Have a great spring! Thank you again LoraRae!
Comment: Hello friend! saw the parcel in the mail, and came in the house beaming! I told my boyfriend, "Look at what my penpal sent, THIS ISNT EVEN FOR A SWAP!" Hahahaha. Then it was and he doesnt need to know that. Hahaha. Love everything you have sent, even the mysterious paper from China Town. The stamps are sooo cool. I kind of wish they were still made that way - with nice ink on something other than some kind of plastic paper stuff. The found image ATC are great for busting stashes and I am so happy to add these to my collection! I will gush more in a letter to you in the next couple of days. We are going on a longggggg motorcycle trip, so I will get it out before we leave and be sure to take your address with me so that I can send you PC along the way! BTW the last PC that I have from you has a strawberry on the front...
Comment: Wow! I looked up Jeanette Lange but didn't find pocket letters on her blog, so I don't know yet how she does them. You really sent some interesting things. Thank you. I'll keep looking to see what she does as I'm sure I can find it someplace! I enjoy pocket letters, too...something different, for sure!
Comment: Your lovely Pocket Letter arrived today filled with so many wonderful items. I like the style you used (spelling out the word Beautiful) I love that you labelled each pocket and filled it with such useful and creative items. The flower bits will be awesome for making embellishments and paper clip art. Thanks so much.
Response: oh Kay, I'm glad you liked it! My first ever!
Comment: I really love my queen bee Atc! Thank you. Everything was so fun... the honeycomb envelope, the papers you included... wow! so cool! Thank you so much.. I have not done much encaustic work yet... its on my to try list. You made me move it closer to the top of the list. Thank you !
Response: it's my favorite technique and it's much easier than you'd think!
Comment: This card is really beautiful, handmade always adds an extra touch of love. A person can never have too many foreign language dictionary pages, thank you. Beautiful spring wishes from a Texan Valentine.
Comment: You are going to HAVE TO teach me the en-caustic method when you come! This is so cool! Wonderful job. I have tons of wax here for us to play with.
The extra's that you inclded kinda kick ass! The straws are super, I have wanted sequin waste for a while now, I have pink ink under my nose from sniffing, and the creepy ass clown is right up my alley! Thanks for a great swap!!!!
Comment: Hi, Lora, your lady has arrived! She did lose a foot (how it could have broke in half, I can't imagine) and her crown fell off, but she's here and hanging on the wall - I can fix the two small things easily, so don't worry.
Response: Thank you and I'm sorry she arrived in need of medical attention. Thanks for my 300th heart!
Comment: Thank you for a really sweet swap, I loved the wash tapes, ribbons, stamps .. well everything ! Even my name's letters, such a cool idea ! The Audrey Hepburn card was a plus too as I love her in Breakfast at Tiffany's :)
Comment: Thanx for the amazingly wrapped bottle. It was so cool! It came 1 day after Halloween but I have it in my kitchen window and maybe b/c it is red I can kinda group it with some red Christmas bottles! LOL! Thanx for all the hard work! Hope you like the one you received!!?? My bottle was only 4" and I have not been rated yet!!
Comment: Yes! Today I finally received your envelope! It's so strange to think that it was soo close before, then got sent back to you and now its here again! I loved the ATC and all the extra ATC materials you included. Thank you!!!!! :)
Comment: WOW!! What a gorgeous matchbox filled with tons of goodies and yummy stuff! Your work is BEAUTIFUL (even the little slider bag part was black!!). I just love everything & the extra envies were so fun - one of the best swaps! Thanks so much. ♥♥♥
Comment: I'm speechless....it's quite possibly the *best*, definitely the most thoughtFUL, swap I've ever received on SB!! Thank you so much for reading my profile. I hope to be your partner again soon....please!
Comment: I'm sooooo sorry for this late rating!! I got overly excited and ran to put all of the wonderful goodies in my craft area, and totally forgot to rate:( Love every piece of "crap" you sent and have already used some of it in projects!!!
Comment: you are right they did turn out wonderful and hearts for you and thanks for sharing the extra skins these would be perfect, of course, for a future ATC swap (credit for you on the back if i use either one in a swap ) but they are just so pretty to look at however. thank you
Comment: Thank you for sharing your month with me, I appreciate the insight into your life. I enjoyed "our" bargain shopping trips, amd pottering in the garden. I had the same worries - when I signed up in May, I envisioned being back at work by June and filling my days with all sorts of interesting tidbits and elegant soirees, alas, it was not to be... my swashbuckling & debonair lifestyle is still on-hold, meaning my entries were mostly doctors appointments and new treatments :) my poor partner!!!
Comment: I had a feeling from your profile that the envelope would be good - but you exceeded my expectations!! Not one bad choice in the bunch, I adore the buttons and Dark Cards notebook and the charms will be added to my DOD charm bracelet right away. Thanks for rocking. ;O)
Comment: Love the creepy twins you sent!!! My hubby even commented on your brothers! Hahaha. I wouldn't want to meet them on a dark night or really anytime!! Hearts to you!! Oh, your comment about the chicken made me laugh and cringe a little!
Comment: These are incredible! I can't stop looking at them. They are absolutely perfect for the theme of the swap. They are spooky and spectacular. And yes, I noticed the correct use of the semicolon. Not everyone can pull that bad boy off you know. :)
Comment: Wow! You really went all out! I received about twice as much as the swap called for! You truly have Skillz! I like the cards so much I may use them myself! Because my main craft is cardmaking, i usually pass on most cards I swap to a girlfriend but I think I'm keeping them! Thanks!
Response: I'm so glad you liked the package, Rebecca! It's hard when you get the host as your partner. Thanks!
Comment: What an amazing, creative, little journal! I knew after reading your profile that I'd love your journal! My husband enjoyed it as much as I. I've got to get this creative. Thank you, also, for the beautiful material (perfect print for dotees) and for the colorful butterflies. I promise they all will be put to good use. All those beautiful stamps on the envelope weren't even postmarked. :) I hope I have the opportunity to send you a journal one day. You made my day!
Response: I am so glad that you enjoyed it. I really love this whole series! Some of those stamps were probably vintage from a stash I got when I bought an abandoned storage locker. I love the post, but I love it when they mess up, too! It's like two for one. Thank you also for the lovely comment on my profile. Your rating is so nice, I read it to my DH, too! I hope we can swap together again!
Comment: Hello Lora! Thanks for a super full package of tea bags and other stuff. I loved everything and was actually very pleasantly surprised by such an adorable handmade envelope! On the other hand, only now when I look at the swap requirements I can see that there's probably one part missing in my whole package - "more than two paragraphs" of text along with the tea bags. You did include the note, but despite everything there's hardly a paragraph there. Anyway, I won't rate you down because of that as your extra stuff has in fact bought me. :D I haven't even noticed something's missing until now, so let's just say I'm rating for the pure fun your package has caused me, which probably should be the exact reason we all should rate here. Take care!
Response: I'm sorry about that, I missed it in the swap requirements! Thanks for your understanding. I hope you enjoy the teas, they are my favorites!
Comment: Thanks for the fun book - i especially like the zebra-ish paper-ish pages, and the calendar pages, and... Oh, and the CTA map is more perfect than you could have realized! We were in Chicago over New Year's, and my 14yo wanted us to go on the el (he'd done it on a school trip) but we didn't invest time figuring it out. With this map, we can figure it out ahead of time before our next trip!
Comment: Um, 17 hearts?! I really like the little penguin ATC. I have to say all the extras (the ATC starter kit) is amazing! I have had such fun leafing thru the little mini-envies and the charms. Thank you for being such a generous partner!
Response: I'm so glad you liked the ATC and the extras. That wrapping paper has been my favorite for two years now and I keep scrimping and saving all the little bits of it. Happy Swapping!
Comment: YAY! 3rd time is the charm! I love it and it fully expresses the hard time experienced with this swap, thank you for putting so much time into it, I love it!
Comment: First off my condolences regarding the death of your niece. I think that's more important than anything right now.
As for the swap, I just could decide, but I'm guessing a piece of your artwork isn't on permanent display in a museum. I only guessed this one because you mentioned being in a band on your profile and figured that might mean music is your real passion.
Take care and wishing you and your family the best.
Response: Good guess, but I do have a piece of art on display in Malaysia. Not sure what the lie was, but I was struck by lightening; so whatever is left is the lie. Thank you for the kind words about my niece.
Comment: Since you are my partner on more than one swap, I'll rate you for this one here. you forgot to put the swap name and this is the first one from you I've got. I think the dolls are kinda odd, but still cute and the check the blank on the back adds to it. I actually like this pc, but I'm on the odd side myself. I wish I could get a bunch of pc in an estate sale. I've bought from a site online three times, but this third time there were hardly any new ones in the batch. They don't sell individual postcards in my little area. I got a few when I went on a trip, but at between .75c and 2.00 per post card at these touristy places it is often a little more than I can afford. ty again. suzanne
Response: Sorry about not listing the swap, I'm usually pretty diligent about that. The second one will probably have the name of that swap so it should work out! The other pc is also doll related, so you can start a collection!
Comment: Love the postcard, thanks! Seattle is my favorite big city. I love visiting up there. If you love the rain the Pacific Northwest would be just right for you. It is the middle of July and misting on the coast today!
Comment: Best swap I've received! I love everything you included and it really made my day-- I opened it while waiting in line somewhere and even though my day sucked your envelopes really brightened it!! Thanks.
Response: WoW! I am so glad you enjoyed this envie! You are very sweet and I'm glad your day got better! Happy Swapping!
Comment: Lol had to go look up DH.. apperantly it's a common things that people are using now and a lot of swappers were trying to figure out what it meant. So i learned something today lol. Thank for the answers
Comment: Hi! Thanks for sharing your venting- I felt a tad better after mine - did you? I do agree about the kiddos in restaurants! We seem to attract screaming kids!! LOL! Drives my hubby crazy! If my sons would have tried that in a public place, we would have either left or gone to the bathroom for a spanking - times have changed a bit! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: Yes it did feel good after venting! Having a sounding board can really help my mental heatlh!!
Comment: I was so excited to see your giant envelope in my mailbox this afternoon! Love the handmade Anne Taintor envelopes. I'm sure I will use everything you sent. I've already put the bookmark to use! Thanks!
Comment: Received the envelope today. WOW! Thanks so much for the wonderful assortment. I'll get some really good use out of them. I'm with you, I think the bees are the cutest. Again, thanks and I sending some love.
Response: glad you loved the send and thanks for the love!
Comment: A million more hearts for the wonderful envie of orange cards as well as the lime green one and the turtle bookplates (LOVE them!). A big thanks for the lovely note you enclosed. Yes, I am sure my son is proud of me! HUGS!
Response: I'm so glad you liked everything! Aren't those teenie tiny cards the cutest thing? I knew you would like the bookplates, they have to be from the 70's! I love vintage-y stuff like that!
Comment: Thank you for the C card for my collection! It was a nice reminder of a trip I had to Chicago for a math conference about twenty years ago! I'm sorry that I missed that fountain; it's very impressive! I'll have to go back some day! Take care, Karen
Comment: Thankyou very much for the super postcard and the marvellous postage stamp. From your 'memoir' and looking at your profile I can see you are a true U2 fan (great song by the way) I bet your photo with Bono is amongst your treasured possessions :)
Comment: Weeeee I won something!!! $2 haha but it's 2 bucks I didn't have previously...or I can say that now this swap only cost me the price of a stamp, the ticket I sent to my partner was essentially free :) I know you have no control over who wins or not but you rock, anyway!!! :)
Response: YAY! two whole dollars? Glad you were a winner!
Comment: Thanks for the great postcard and I love the Kate Hepburn stamp. I don't know if it's too late to be an archeologist. Maybe you could volunteer on a dig sometime.
I've never visited Chicago but someday I want to go there. I read the book Devil in the White City and I'd like to see the place where the World's Fair was held. I heard they made one of the buildings a museum. Tara
Response: Funny you should say that about Devil in the White City. I am a tour guide for Chicago Hauntings and we have a tour of the fairgrounds and the area where H.H. Holmes had his "murder castle" The building they made into a museum is the Museum of Science and Industry, Charles Darrow haunts the stairs that face the pond and the Clarence Darrow Bridge.
Comment: How sweet! Thank-you! The pincushion is wonderful (how did you know I am ALWAYS in need of them??) and the little crossstitched saying is just charming!
Response: Hi Julie
Glad you liked your gifts! The pincusion is actually handmade by me and the thriftstore find was the cross-stitched saying. I found the broken beads after I had already sealed the box, so I had to open the box to throw those it. So happy to have swapped with you!
Comment: Your mail art was amazing. I was afraid to open it for fear of opening it. Then after I saw all the goodies you sent, I thought it was my birthday for a minute. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to make this a wonderful swap.
Response: Your comment makes me blush, I'm glad you enoyed it. I think my favorite part of swapping is knowing that the recipient really appreciates my effort
Comment: THANK YOU for all the lovely teas, and cards. I was so happy to receive this package today!!! It's perfect, as I have had a sore throat (and coughing) for 2 days, and have been drinking lots of tea. :o) Thanks again. :o)
Comment: I like the way you burned the edges of the paper on your ATC. The card is very clever. Thank you. And, thank you for the generous surprises. I love the charms and the stamps will be such fun to use. That was very nice of you.
Comment: Thank you so much for the lovely teas and so many notecards!! I was truly surprised and so happy!!! You are such an asset to Swap-Bot. Thank you for hosting this too. It was soooo much fun, and I have a new tea wallet to put my teas in!!!
Your packiage was so fantastic I loved it all, but I see I sent a smaller package then you, and your getting another .It will be mailed out really soon and will send you a message!
Thanks for the nicest package ever!
Comment: What a wonderful surprise! Thanks for that so well-filled letter. I love your ATCs, one sees the love you have for making them. And all the little extras, the paper, the stamps, the ribbons. I wish I could give you more than one heart.
Comment: artsonfire, first, i loved the shiny green packaging! then i opened the yummy-scented package: thanks for all the goodies! thanks for the extra tea and cards, and i appreciate the extra recipes. thanks for hosting this swap (i gave you a star!).
Comment: Wow Really impressed with your atc's they are beautiful and so well made..You can be sure that they will make a great addition to my collection...So many nice extra especially the Fairy Bookmark it's so pretty...For all I Thank you with a heart
Comment: WOW! What a terrific collection of cards you sent me! I especially liked the ones with decorated, matching envelopes. I don't see many of those here. Thank you so much for your generosity! The birdhouse card is calling for me to write a letter to my friend who loves birds as much as I do. Again, thanks!
Comment: I really loved the parcel which arrives me today. So awesome. I love all the tiny cute things and I can't avert my eyes from them. Thank you so much. I would like to give you much more hearts if I could!
Comment: Very nice ATC. I love purple and silver....I'm decorating my Mom's tree in these color this year. I'll have to see if I can use your ATC somehow.
Thanks for all the great goodies you included.
Comment: Hooray! I was so happy to open the package and see the quotes, along with all of the other goodies! You didn't have to go to such lengths--I can tell from your profile that you send your swaps on time, this one must have just gotten lost in the mail. But thanks for making another one, anyway!
Comment: These are just the most amazing cards ever. Beautifully done, loved the one with Hope (thats my daughter's name)..I don't think I have ever received so many nice extras..I Thank you with a heart
Comment: Thank you Lora...now that's a swap! I love your "Phyllis-1925" atc. Nice coposition. And thank you so for all the little goodies... The dice you sent are my favorite pair I have! all the best, Elizabeth
