About Me

If you have not received a package from me, and think you should have, please message me! I always send, usually early, so please let me know so I can get your swap to you!

PLEASE do NOT send anything that smells of cigarette smoke!! I am not allergic, just hate the smell but my husband is SEVERELY allergic and has asthma and cigarette smoke will affect him badly so please be conscientious about this!

I'm a married 50 yr old mother of 4 with one grandchild who turned 1 last October and he has given me such joy to have around. I am an RN and have been married to a very nice man for over 30 years. We both love to do genealogy although he has been able to go back much further into his family background than I have. He has gone back prior to the American Revolutionary War.

I have a smoke-free home but we are a cat friendly home too! If you are allergic to cats please let me know. If I get you as a partner I will either purchase new items and not bring them into the house or they will be where they will never be touched by a cat or the fur around the furniture etc. It can't be helped when you have 3 cats!!

I love swapping! I think I've become a swap-bot addict! : ) My craft passions are knitting, crocheting and reading. I love doing all three of those things. I also love to cross-stitch but with age goes the eyesight so I am not able to do as much as I would like.

I.also have arthritis and fibrromyalgia so that at times will limit my crafting abilities. When my hands hurt too much that is when I usually turn to reading. The weather affects my pain a lot so I'm glad Spring is finally here and wish for all sunny days to come!

Favorite Music

I still like the 70's and 80's but generally my music tastes run to whatever my mood is at the moment. The only thing I will never listen to is opera music. I usually have my car stereo set on some Top 40 radio station but having teenage kids and older I just listen to what they do.

Favorite Books

I love books about witches, vampires and werewolves and other supernaturals. Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series and Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series are some of my favorites in that area.

Mysteries of all sorts - crime, medical, high-tech, etc. John Sandford and James Patterson are just 2 of my favorite crime authors.

Horror- Love Dean Koontz and Stephen King!

Fantasy and the occasional sci-fi book.

I am big into reading young adult books, must be because I have a teenaged daughter! I like to also read the books that are popular with young adult teen girls like the Twilight series and gossip girls etc. Harry Potter and Twilight series are probably my most favorite books of recent times.

For a good laugh I will read Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. Those books are such a hoot! For me to read romance I have to be in a really, really sappy mood which hasn't happened in a long time.

I also love anything by Nora Robert's that isn't a historical type romance. I'm just not into the historical romance books. I also love her J. D. Robb's in Death series. (futuristic crime fighting!)

I like chick lit too!

I find it very relaxing to read any kind of book as long as it holds my interest. I try to finish any book I start even if I don't really like it although it may take me a VERY long time if I can't get into a book. I do that because sometimes it does take until the middle or near the end to realize that the book really is a good book.

Favorite Movies

All time faves: Gone With the Wind, Casablanca, Wizard of Oz, Shawshank Redemption.

Regular faves: Matrix, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Twilight, Die Hard except the last one, The Bucket List, DaVinci Code, Pirates of Caribbean movies, anything with Nicolas Cage or Keanu Reeves.

I just love movies and it would just take up way too much space and time to list them all. The only movies I truly dislike are the gorey horror ones like Nightmare on Elm St., Friday the 13th, and Halloween genre. I also am not a big Ben Stiller fan or Will Ferrell fan. So if I ever do a movie related swap please keep these in mind to NOT send me. Thanks!

I am so looking forward to the new Harry Potter film. the new Twilight movie, and Angels and Demons (prequel to The DaVinci Code).

Favorite Television

I love to watch television and am so thankful to HD cable tv! I'm a night owl and watch it as I knit and/or read

NCIS (gotta love Mark Harmon) all the Law & Order shows 24 - love Kiefer! House and ER (medical shows.. what do you expect from an RN? grins) Bones (love Seeley Booth character) all the CSI shows The Closer Sanctuary Stargate SG-1 Leverage Saving Grace

Favorite Crafts

I knit, crochet, cross-stitch, needlepoint, embroider but knitting is by far my most favorite craft of all. I never mind having duplicate supplies. I can never have enough scissors or tape measures! Also I am in a sock yarn craze and therefore can not have enough Addi circular needles size 0-2! LOVE LOVE making socks or items out of sock yarn!

I rarely scrapbook and or do rubber stamp crafts but only because I don't have the room to keep any of the supplies out anywhere so those crafts got put away due to being a pain in the tush to always get everything out of a closet or elsewhere and then to find a quiet corner to work. I still scrapbook tho! I've got a very cute grandson for doing so!

I also like to sew now and then.

I want to try and learn some new crafts. I am starting up a supply of jewelry making supplies but need a lot more! I want to really start making my own knitting row markers with beads.

The one craft I never asked my grandmother to teach me was tatting and would love to learn how to do that someday.

I am not artistic at all and hate that. I don't have the artist gene and can't even draw a decent stick figure! So no art supplies unless I can use them in other crafts I like to do.

Embroidering and cross-stitch are on the wayside only because it's hard to see even with the magnifying glasses and bi-focals. It so stinks to get older!!

Favorite Collectibles

I collect anything to do with cats obviously!

I also collect stuff about fantasy creatures (unicorns, dragons, etc.), carousel horses, frogs, dragonflies.

Absolutely love dragonflies and dragons!

Ladybugs are awesome tool

Favorite Misc.

FAVORITE COLORS: bright primary colors neon brights all shades of purples all shades of blue Not real into dull colors, but do like pink/chocolate brown combo and blue/chocolate brown combo I also like what I call 'sassy combos' like you see in sock yarns-- rainbows of colors self-striping with more than two colors

So much of my life revolves around my pain condition that is depressing that if I can bring color into my life with my crafts it helps! :)

FAVORITE SNACKS: I mostly crave salty snacks. Potato Chips (anything but vinegar or dill pickle flavored), Doritos, Fritos (especially honey bbq), cheetos Popcorn - all kinds and flavors but without nuts Nuts - most favorite cashews and pistachios, hate pecans Cookies- peanut butter and chocolate chip, Oreos, Brownies-all kinds as long as no nuts in them Pies- all faves are apple, pumpkin, apple, cherry and blueberry. Cheesecake - can we say Cheesecake Factory?!! Candy-vintage candy, licorice (red or black), I like dark and milk chocolate, do not like candy with nuts in them, I'm not a big chocolate eater so I prefer gourmet chocolates and not stuff that you can get anywhere like Hershey's and Nestles' Favorite drinks: Water, Coke, Hot cocoa, I am not a tea or coffee drinker. I do drink chai tea though.

Misc stuff

I'm willing to try new things. Like a new craft. I am looking forward to swapping items on this list.

Comment: You were the coordinator of this swap. I am really unhappy that I still haven't received anything for this swap. It was a quiet expensive one for me. I still hope to receive a magazine and then I'll change the rating.

You flaked on 10 people in this swap.

You are a scammer and a thief, may karma bite you in the butt like you deserve.

Mimiwonton on Jul 21, 2009:

Come on..at least be honest! You posted sent on the Opal Sock Yarn Swap and I know for a fact my daughter, who has fibro too, by the way and knows what you deal with...was your partner and she has gotten NOTHING from you. A thank you for the package I sent you would have been nice too. We know life can be difficult but it doesn't excuse a total lack of common courtesy!

eyeskater on Jul 5, 2009:

I fully support your right to be stupid, but that doesn't mean that the rest of us are.

stacirose on Jul 5, 2009:

Good grief. What an ugly little collection of messages. Whatever's going on - take care.

May you get treatment for the mental incapacity from which you obviously suffer to such a degree it prevents you from behaving in a socially acceptable manner in internet swapping communities.

Amandalee on Jul 5, 2009:

Shame on you.
