Comment: Thanks for your song list. It took me back. My wife and I were married in '77.
Seeing Eric C's song made me remember when Tom Petty's "Mary Jane's Last Dance" was released in 1993. The local rock station's DJ was ripped because management had put it on the 'no-play' list, because it was about marijuana. After his on-air rant about it, he played "Cocaine", which was apparently not banned from play.
Comment: Much appreciated!!!
We needed a good laugh & there’s nothing quite like potty humor!
I’d never heard of the song called Intergalactic Laxative before - it’s freakin’ hilarious and now I’ve got my whole family dancing a delirious jig about the house!!! 😂 🤣 😂 lmfao
THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!
Response: I heard it years ago on a pirate radio station and didn't believe it existed either, until I found the lyrics online. You are welcome.
Comment: Thanks Kath for sharing your answers with me. Yes i can relate to many of your answers. We are near the same age and no children., no pets.yes i like your dream job as family historian as I do family history myself. Hope you ,loved ones and community are safe and healthy, Blessings.
Comment: Thank you for your answers. I totally agree that people who are on their phone all the time is annoying. And rude when in restaurants. I sometimes have to tell my partner to put away their phone because I want to spend time with them, not just sitting on our phones. I wish more people could spend less time on their phones when being together with other people.
Response: My sentiments exactly. Thank you for your comment.
Comment: I feel like reading my own answers, we have a lot in common in terms of favorite number, colors (that was my exact answer as well!), self-talk, coffee/tea and our inability to drive 😂 Thanks for answering
Comment: Thank you for sharing, Kath! And also for hosting that swap. Winter scenes have a special charm. I think it's because of the ubiquitous whiteness and the impression of the softness of the snow ;)
Comment: Kath, thanks for sharing your pinterest board with me! My favorites of your Funny Animals were "At the Vet", "Something touched my foot", and "Poprocks". They're all funny, but those three had me laughing hard! Thanks for a fun swap!
Comment: I liked these! My 1st fave was the red & white one, it remeinded me of Dr Seuss!!! My second was the white/gray/silvery one toward the bottom. It was just "elegent' to me and lastly was the purple! That's my fave color! Thanks!!!
Comment: I think your list was well rounded. The choices you picked that might sound strange to others, I found perfect because they could certainly provide some interesting facts that now we can only guess. Great choices
Comment: Good list! I would have asked some myself if I didn't have to hold it to ten.
There are several controversial people I'd like to chat with too, but I didn't want to bring my other partygoers down. :-)
Response: Thank you, I'm happy that you didn't mind the contraversial ones.
Comment: It’s here! Thank you for working with me on the resend - I have no idea what could have happened to the first one! (Update Dec 19, 2018: The original one you sent just arrived today! I can see that it was postmarked before the send date of the original swap, I have no idea why it took two whole months to get here! I am so sorry you had to send it twice!)
What a spooky collection of stories! Ghost incidents near your home and legends of scary skulls and cannibal caves! Thank you for the long interesting letter! :)
Response: So pleased that it arrived, thank you for waiting.
Comment: Interesting and practical plan to buy house and nice plan to buy yourself a real treat vehicle, and kindness shown to donate to less fortunate. I enjoyed the read. I am less practical. I would see the world and maybe never come home.
Response: Thank you for your kind comments, and thank you for joining the swap.
Comment: Wow, it arrived really fast! Thank you for the sweet donut postcard and nice note. It seems like someone has took a bite from it when it was on the way, because small part of the left corner of pc is missing ;) Happy swapping!
Response: Sorry about that, it was whole when it left home. Thank you
Comment: Omg!! This steam punk swap was one of the best I got 2 amazing cards from my partners and I think your card is my all time fave received card she is stunning and I can't stop looking at her thank you!!
Comment: Thanks for the recommendations and sending them so quickly! :) I've read and enjoyed Lost Boy and so Alice was already on my list too, but I'll definitely have to check out the others you listed!
Response: Happy that they arrived, I've also read the follow up to Alice - The Red Queen, both are very good, with an added twist!
Comment: Greetings from Atlanta! I was delighted to receive your lovely postcard this morning and it sure did make my day! I will give it a nice home in my little collection where it will be cherished forever! :)
Comment: Thank you so much for this very wonderful card of how the camel got his hump! It is beautiful! Thank you so much for resending - but sorry that you had to. <3 <3 <3 Update 1 May 2018: The first postcard arrived today! Thank you so much - it is another delight! <3 <3 <3
Response: Yaaay! it finally arrived. No probs about the resend. Just happy that it finally got there.
Comment: Thank you for sharing, Kath! Just so you know, $1,000 in U.S. money is 701.75£ today. :-) I'm always intrigued by people who live in the same place they were born. How widely have you traveled? Just to Edinburgh? Or further? :-) Thanks again!
Response: Thank you for letting me know how much $1,000 is in £. I go over to the Isle of Man every year, but apart from that and other places in the UK, I don't travel. Loch Ness is the furthest North that I have travelled, and Devon is the furthest South. I actually live in a different house from where I was born, but the same house number. My parents had it built and our old house demolished.
Comment: I pretty sure that everyone is getting a heart for this exchange because how do you have a not great board full of dragons? So many pretties! I liked that you had decorations too, that hour glass *_*
Response: I love any mythological creature, but Dragons are my favourite. Thank you for joining.
Comment: Hi Kath, Thank you for the great poems and for the extras. :) My son had a unit in his English class last year on "Jabberwocky" and I think that was the first time I'd read it. So interesting to receive it from you as well. :) And my daughter came across "Matilda" a few weeks ago and asked if I'd read it. Hmm... universes aligning? :) I enjoyed your original poems as well. Thank you for joining the swap and for sending such nice poems. :)
Response: Glad that you were pleased with what I sent. Matilda has been one of my fave poems for years.
Comment: Thanks for sharing your board with all those yummy cakes. I feel like baking right away! They look wonderful and I wish I was talented enough to make a cake like that. They definitely gave me some ideas though :)
Response: You are welcome. I loved the puppy's, they looked so life like.
Comment: Great Quote! I remember it exactly from the movie, it was at his (Bilbo Baggins) going away party in The Shire. I've never read the book but I've watched the movie a gazillion times! Love it :)
Comment: "Lost Life" is sobering. Just enough detail to allow the reader to ponder and wonder...not just about events but also about acceptance. Thank your sharing your talent with me, Kath. Hugs and hearts...jinanne
Response: You are so welcome, and thanks for the comments. I just thought it could cover a huge amount of subjects - mental unstability, bad relationship, alien abduction, or just needing to make a new start.
Comment: What a beautiful poem! Reading it is like getting a warm hug; someone looking out for you. I love the earthiness of the washing machine and the more spiritual side with the blue sea. Thank you for sharing this with me!
Response: You are welcome, and thank you for the comments.
Comment: Thank you for sharing this poem! I've read it a few times to really get it. I love the bit of tissue on the shelf, what an intriguing image. I'm in doubt if the poem ends on a happy note or not. The brand new life sounds positive, but losing her old one doesn't. This is a poem that makes you think. Thank you for joining my swap!
Response: You are so welcome, and I appreciate the comments. I think I was tryng to get at the 'loss of memory' angle.
Comment: Hello! I got your post today! Thank you so much for the postcard too!I Love butterflies~! I am planting some wild flowers with hopes of attracting more butterflies and maybe some humming birds! Thanks for the great swap!
Response: Glad it arrived, you are welcome to the goodies. I do hope that your plants come up.
Comment: Thank you for the nice letter, it's great to hear about your life and home! The way your rain sounds makes me *almost* glad for the snow we have, if only for the blindingly bright reflection of the sun off of it!
Response: You are very welcome. wind and rain again today!
Comment: LOVE LOVE LOVE my new card! I have become quite addicted to using my gel pens on a collection of post cards I got, and I have a binder with plastic sleeves to keep them in since my hubby doesn't want me to let them go once I color them. This one with the stamps and your beautiful handwriting will be a crown jewel in my collection! <3 Thanks so much!
Comment: Loved the card you sent ... reminds me of my train travel to Prague when I had to run off one train and on to a second one at midnight in a dark small station in the middle of now where in Germany ..... :) think I looked something like how Bugs Bunny looked on the card :)
Comment: Hello Kath,
Thank you for the beautiful postcard you colored for me. I liked how you used gel pens and colored pencils. This postcard will be a nice addition to my colored postcard collection.
Comment: Sorry it took awhile to rate you. I haven't really had the time to go to my PO Box since the hours don't coordinate with my schedule very well. Thank you for the card. I will write back as soon as I can.
Response: No problem, just hoped it hadn't got lost. Happy that you liked it.
Comment: Kath, thanks for the nice p cards---I need to get some markers than shimmer and "glitter" the way your colored in one does. I love the extras printed in green rather than black and white. I look forward to using them as postcards or adding them to a note cards of some sort. You have done a splendid job!
Response: It printed in green because the magenta cartridge wasn't working. It wasn't on purpose, but they did look good. I used metallic, and glitter gel pens.
Comment: Thank you so much for the breathtaking flipbook...I absolutely loved it...my fav pic was the one w the vintage woman...thank you for giving me the time you spent on making the flipbook just for me....xxoo
Response: So glad that you liked it, and that everything stayed where it should be.
Comment: Thank you for the great assortment of lovely items, and no worries Kath, it's all good. I feel as though you are very sincere... and that you did not intend to hurt me at all!! No hard feelings. xoxo Patty
Comment: Thank you for the lovely shiny flip-book! I especially loved the Mucha image! And goodies were special and different 😊 Just a small tip for future flip-books: it was little difficult to get the goodies out from their pockets without ruining them. Have a great day!
Comment: Thank you for the poem and the pretty card. I'm sure people have remarked about your amazing handwriting. Such a leftward slant is supposed to me that you are very private and probably very shy. I wish you a little more comfort about other people.
Response: Glad that you liked the poem, I'm quite private, that is true, but I'm not all that shy, I used to be though. Age has made me a little more bolshy! thanks for the comments though.
Comment: Thanks so much for the awesome cards! I love them and immediately knew who they are going to be sent to once I saw them!! Yay! Thanks for the buttons too...I had to surrender them to my 6 year old daughter who is currently very into her button collection...she is sorting them...loves them! Thanks again!
Response: You are welcome. Happy that you liked everything.
Comment: Thank you for your letter; it was really interesting to find out about you. I'll be writing back soon and I'll answer those questions. The sparkly embellishments will be used on my ATCs. Best wishes Jenny
Comment: Thank you for the book related postcard. I thought my handwriting slanted backwards, you have me beat. Are you a lefty? I am.
LOL. I don't get into fantasy very much. I'm sure there are a lot of good reads that I am missing. Hope to swap with you again soon.
Response: Yes, I am a lefty! Glad that you liked the card.
Comment: Hi there! I loved your Punch Studio notecard! I recently started to acquire an interest in them and the butterfly sticker on the front of the envelope was a nice addition, thank you!! I will be writing soon!
Response: glad you liked it, hope to hear from you.
Comment: I was originally given my first hermit crab by someone who was going to flush it. I refused to let them and took it home. I started researching them and seeing everything they really needed to have a proper living space, and I built "crabitats" and started a hermie rescue. I only do that now if I come across extreme cases because it can turn into a lot of work to find homes for them with people who agree to take care of them correctly. People consider them disposable pets and I guess that makes me have a soft spot for them
Response: Unusual creature to have as a pet, well done. Thank you for telling me about them.
Comment: I enjoyed your board, thanks for sending!I loved the little hedgehog image; I sent it on to my friend that has a hedgehog! I also really liked the Christmas gift in a jar idea, I might make a few of those!
Comment: Great card. I like Autumn too - we are right in the middle of it here - can feel the cold coming tho. But my Favorite is Spring - like the new green colors and all the new growth..
Response: Similar here, Autumn is part way through.
Comment: Hi Kath, Thank you very much - I won't be able to read it for a while, as I've just relocated to the UK and my mum will forward my mail in a few weeks time.. for now, pictures will have to do! :D
Comment: To start with, the butterfly on the envie was splendid. I do think I will look for these books again. These 2 pages were a delight to read, especially page 551, which reminds me so much of our swaps. Thank you for the suggestion.
Response: So glad that you liked the excerpt that I sent.
Comment: Thanks for the kitty post! Yes, I like cat and doggies too! I have also lived in the UK when my hubby was in the airforce. That was back in the mid 80's but seem like yesterday. It was the best years of my life!
Response: No problem, thought that you would like it.
Comment: Thank you for your chatty letter, it was so good to sit and read one, its been too long! I will be writing back soon. Ps. Thanks for the stickers - I have a friend who loves dragonflies so they will be great to use for her bday card. x
Response: Glad you liked it, hope to hear from you soon,
Comment: Hi Kath! Thanks a lot for the email you sent to me. I really enjoy reading it - it seems we have quite some things in common :-) I will definitely reply soon... but it might take a few days as I am away for the weekend. I hope that this is okay for you. Cheers, Saskia
Comment: Another bike enthusiast, yay, I enjoyed reading your email and am going to send you one to make sure that you want to become a pen pal with ,e. We have a lot of things in common I almost felt like Imwas reading about me on some of it :)
Response: I knew that we would click when I read your profile. Letter in the post soon
Comment: A very good selection of 70's rock! There were many I don't remember hearing before (I'm more familiar with the 80's and 90's and so on...) but which I liked and will listen to again. It would have been good if you had included some links to music videos but is was easy enough to search for the videos by myself so it's no biggie. Thank you!
Response: Glad you liked the list. I'm not a member of any music places, that is why there were no links.
Comment: Thanks for sending! You can still learn the history on your own - or even finish something for you. I just got my master's in history in December - for me! - and I'm just a couple of years from retiring at present. Good luck in whatever you do!
Response: I'm helping people start on their Family history now.
Comment: Thank you so very much for the ATC! I love vintage lingerie and think you did a mighty fine job! Welcome to making ATCs! It's so much fun! If you ever want to do 1:1 swap with them just let me know! Best!
Response: After reading your profile, I thought that you would like it.
Comment: Thank you for sharing your family tree (and for the extra information, which looks interesting; I also love the photo of your parents!). I'm honored to give you your first rating for this swap. :-)
