Comment: Thanks for the nice seed assortment; for your note and; the lovely quotes.
I will plant the sunflowers in one area and everything else I get in another single plot. I keep several flowering perennials for the hummingbirds and butterflies and I plant annuals for them and for a pretty. I gave up on trying to grow vegetables years ago.
Response: Sounds like you have a very nice flower garden, would love to see it, I am a big fan of gardens. How sad that you gave up on veggies. You should just plant one or two between the flowers so you can be happy if they work out but not too dissappointed if they don't. Fresh grown veggies are the BEST,
Comment: Dorothy, this Flowish journal is GORGEOUS! You included so many beautiful papers and embellishments! I love the Daphne's pages, especially the one with the little duck and bunny fold-ups. That fox napkin is so unique and I just can't wait to use everything tucked in the bags. You have done an absolutely wonderful job on this and I'm so lucky to be the recipient. Thank you so much; I'll be going through this beauty for some time to come!
Response: Your very welcome kristy, I love the Daphne magazine pages too. Any chance I get to buy it I buy two so I can share. The fox napkin has been a big hit with everyone so far. Hope you are able to make plenty of nice things. Have fun.
Comment: Thank you so very much for the seeds and nice letter! I can tell that gardening is your passion. The tiny seed packets that you made are darling! I'm excited to get them in the ground and see what they grow into. Thank you!
Response: Oops some how I forgot to answer you back on this. Your very welcome, hope your garden grows well this year and you find a few surprises.
Comment: Wow! Oohs and Aahs too! This altered file folder is a beautiful work of art as well as the journal tucked inside. I really love what you sent and I'm impressed with your talent. I'll be looking at this over and over and showing it to my friends. I will use it when I think of something very special to put in it. Thanks for such a lovely gift. I'm throwing my hat full of hearts up in the air to you!
Response: Phew, so glad to hear that you liked your package, I didn't read anything in your profile about journals so I wondered if I was making a mistake sending it to you. Thanks so much for all the kind words, I had looked up file folders on Pinterest and there are some that are really beautiful.
That was the fastest package I ever mail out too. You weren't suppose to get it till Friday!
Comment: Omg this is the best swap of the year! You are an artist and we have so much in common!
Response: Well, so nice to hear that you liked the journal. Everyone has a different idea about what makes an artist. I feel I should be able to give drawings three dimensional - ncis to be a good artist. I love to see people be able to. Quickly draw something that actually has shape, shading ( in the right places) and such. But it takes me a darn hour to be happy with a darn stick figure. All set for the next swap!
Comment: Dorothy-Wow I love the journal you sent me. You are so creative. My fav are snowman! I loved all of the prizes you also included like the ribbon, Washi, magnet, ornament. You really out did yourself and I love it so so much. Thank you!
Response: Your very welcome. Snowmen are a fav of mine too. Hope you have fun filling the journal.
Comment: Thank you so much for such a lovely pack! And I so appreciated your note and warm welcome to the hobby :) It's addicting, no doubt about it, and so much fun to learn how to use all these little bits and bobs to make something wonderful. Thanks again!
Response: Your welcome. Enjoy and have fun making journals.
Comment: Thanks so much for the napkins. They are all lovely but my favorite is the fox 🦊 with the hat and writing on it.
Response: The fox one is a god one isn't it. I painted a large-ish flat rock yellow and decopauged it and have it in the garden. I got that package at a Yellowstone gift shop. Have fun playing with them.
Comment: These are so different from what I envisioned when I set up the swap, but I love them all! I hope you enjoyed the process and your struggles at least taught you something. 😊 I also struggled with them, cutting the first set on the wrong side. I learned a lot, and look forward to using these that you made!
Response: I did have fun making them, and even included some in a journal for another swap I am working on. Thanks for hosting it.
Comment: Hi Dorothy, Thank you for reading my profile and sending thoughtful and beautiful ephemera. I especially like the Irish coin and blue jay feather. They are sparking many ideas for using them on book marks and journal pages.
Response: Your welcome Barbara. I always have a hard time trying to figure out what best to send. Glad you liked the feather, I was wondering whether or not to go ahead and put it in the envelope
Comment: Absolutely beautiful!! I loved your swap!! I thought it was perfect. I loved all the pockets & the journal pages were great, so creative. This was a fun swap I hope to do a book again. Thank you so much for such an awesome swap, you made my day!!
Response: Oh good, always happy to hear I made some ones day. Spreading happiness is so fun. Hope you are able to fill the journal with plenty of good memories.
Comment: I like it. I love it. I think it worked out perfectly. Don’t worry about too girly. What I mean by that is that really girly stuff.. like Barbie dolls. Thank you for a wonderful journal page.
Response: Glad to hear you liked it. Happy swapping!
Comment: Hi Dorothy! Got your package today and I was SO EXCITED to come open it up and oh my goodness, it is soooooo beautiful! I just signed up for a "3 page flipbook" swap and I haven't done one either and now I have YOURS to help me on my way!!! All the goodies are just amazing!!! Thank you soooo much!!!
Response: Your welcome, have fun with your flip book
Comment: How lucky am I to have you for a partner! And thank you for being patient with me because of my Texas trip! It was a fabulous read with all the taped in notes and daily doing of the girls (they sound amazing!). I told you I would be writing you after the last journal extravaganza - and I was shamefully negligent. But, I am not going to bed tonight until I get a letter in the mail to you. Thank you soooo much!
Response: your very welcome,( soon you will have plenty to share about your grandchild too!)
Comment: Dorothy, you said that the journal did not turn out like you expected, but I don't know how it could be improved on!!! I love it! It's very obvious that you put a lot of love into it, and the techniques you used are so varied and interesting! So many textures and pockets and different types of embellishments; the edge treatment on the pages was great! I have to try that sometime. And the gifts you included left me speechless - the birds will LOVE the sunflower seeds! And I'm still trying to figure out how you got the extra pages into the book: you know the ones, shorter than the others, different type of paper, and some of it textured, and even some game/playing cards! Absolutely fascinating! Thank you for such a wonderful journal! This is very special to me!
Response: Oh , thanks so much for the great rating. The cover was what I disliked the most. My first vision was to have it covered with a real doilie that tied at the ends to close it, but all the dollies I had were too darn big. My first thought on the journal was to be an old fashion vintage type. Ha - wasn't at all. Happy Valentine's Day!
Comment: Well you certainly made up for mailing out a wee bit late! Thanks so very much for all of the seals...I really appreciate all of the different types and your explanation of each...I honestly never thought outside the box about ways to do these!💗
Response: My boxes are always too full, which seems to force me to think outside the box (ha ha) glad you liked them.
I have also found some with little dried flowers in them, or feathers and ribbons. Lots of great idea. Check them out on Pinterest.
Comment: Thanks for your letter and seals. 😀 I liked the beehive the best. 😀 Never heard about the crayons; will have to try it. Your seal stayed on perfectly. Glad to hear y’all are getting more rain. It’s been raining here as well.
Response: Your welcome, have fun experimenting with the crayons.
Comment: Dorothy I wish I had a million hearts to give for this amazing mini! I love all the cool items you shared with me about your holiday and can’t wait to try that recipe! Who knew about Pinto beans! Happy Holidays to you!
Response: You are very welcome Amy. That was a fun swap glad you hosted it. I think it would be a fun one for an old fashion Valentine's magpie journal..
Comment: Thank you so much, I feel absolutely spoiled! I agree, it doesn't feel like Christmas for me either. Galt has been on my radar for years-but we may get lucky and move out of state once my DD graduates from HS. Hope you get snow soon-that is one thing I would like to admire from a distance lol!
Comment: Dorothy, thank you so much. What a beautiful collection of stamped images. I LOVE the ones with the color. I felt kinship with you on the sticklers for the rules comment you made. I had someone hurt my feelings so bad I have decided to take a break from Swap Bot for a while. I'm not that sensitive and can take it, it just really opened my eyes up to some things and taking a break is better than quitting. Have a very blessed and safe holiday season!
Response: Hope you are able to make some fun stuff with the stamped images I sent.
So sorry to hear about your trouble with swap bot. Wish I knew the answer to make things run smoother. Hope you are able to enjoy swap bot again soon. 🙂
Comment: Oh Goodness Gracious! What an amazing journal book. I feel like mine is an epic failure in comparison. You're right though, everyone has a different take on how to create them. I can't believe all the time and effort you put into my book. Be prepared for a lengthy letter back. Every time I read a new bit about you I was like "that exactly me, too!" I wanted to pick up the phone and start gabbing like we've known each other forever! I thought your first page with the mini windows containing bits about you was really cute. And I especially loved the mailbox with my letters. You amazed me and then amazed me again. Thank you so much. <3 <3 <3 <3
Response: Oh my, you are very welcome. Thank you for all the kind words. Glad you liked it. I try to send things worth receiving and at times when I am crafting, I have a hard time stopping! Would love to hear back from you 😜
Comment: Thank you so much for the letter and treats!! I loved reading your little letter (I adore the letter set you used!) And I just adore the banner and fall pieces to craft with. I already have ideas for them, haha! Thanks so much again!
Comment: Hi Dorothy, Yay! I love, love, love the matchbook notepads you made for me! Thank you😍 I like how you used the autumn colors with the black contrasts, very striking. Love the embossing effects too! Thanks again!
Response: glad you like them. I just "re-found" my embossing stuff, I have so darn many supplies I forget about some. I don't know how I forget about it, the embossing makes such a difference at times.
Comment: Thanks for all the Goodies! I will enjoy including them in my projects/journals. Just an FYI the postage wasn’t enough. So bigger envelopes you may want to check with the post office when you mail just to be sure! Otherwise thanks again!
Response: oh know I hate when that happens to me - so I know how you feel about the extra postage! I will try to remember tomorrow to stick something in the mail to make up for it. So sorry about that 😱
Comment: Thank you so much for the letter and all the washi samples. I didn't have any Halloween ones so that is exciting to have some. Christmas is always good as are the other unique ones. Great swap!
Comment: I was so happy to open this box of kindness this morning. I LOVE everything. You did a wonderful job of making me smile. My 50th is in 2 weeks so this was like unwrapping birthday presents. I will always remember this swap. Definitely at the top of my best swaps ever. Thank you for making it so.
Response: So glad to hear you loved it all.
Happy swapping 😄
Comment: Wow! This was a very simple type of swap, only required to send some random items from your stash... but you went way above and beyond and sent something very thoughtful. I love the letter you wrote and the mail art on the envelope!! Great stuff, awesome swap!
Comment: Dorothy! The swap finally found me and it was SO worth the wait! I loved absolutely everything, including the super cool envelope you packed it in. It was the gift that kept on giving! Thank you for the incredibly wonderful happy mail (and I appreciate the compliment on my “look” lol).
Response: Yeah, is finally got there. What a crack up, I don't understand why it kept going back and forth. And good thing I got tracking on it 😜 Glad you felt it was worth the wait. Enjoy!
Comment: Oh MY! Thank you so much Dorothy for the wonderful paperbomb and also the nice letter! That is awsome you play too, I have 1 pink soprano and 1 yellow concert uke. I started on the concert, but after I got my soprano I fell in love with it! The sound is much happier! I would love love love to play a banjolele! I know no one here that plays any instruments, so I don't get to play it like I should! I need to get the guts to take it to my work and play it there(nursing home) but im nervous still lol
Thanks again! Hope to swap with you again soon!
Response: Oh you should take your ukes to work, they would love it. My sister and I played for my mom when I was taking care of my mother.
Comment: Hi Dorothy! I really enjoyed your Happy Mail - it was like getting a letter from a friend!! We were just on vacation to FL and on the way there we drove through Cairo - the library was a beautiful building but yes, the rest of the area looks very poor, so sad when this happens to towns! If you have time when you are in St. Louis, maybe we could meet - I would suggest the St. Louis Zoo and Missouri Botanical Garden if you have time - the zoo is free and there is a cost for the garden but it is lovely! Thank you so much for the ncs, washi and the love letter - I just read about those today - very cool! I have not been to Oregon but have heard it is rugged and amazing - great things in my book! We are rural so I love the wildlife info - the hubby also "battles" with the wildlife for his garden!! I like to think we can share but I am sure as a gardner it gets old! Wishing you all the best on your garden and hope we get to visit someday! Thank you so much for the lovely Happy Mail - it made my day!! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: Oh yeah, you got it, I sent another one like it at the same time that never arrived, I was afraid yours was going to be the same, I was a bit worried. Hope ya had a great vacation. Thanks for the wonderful comments and the tips about the zoo and gardens. 😜
Comment: I've only got 5 page into it but I love it! I read while I have meals (alone), I'm going to be reading it for at least a couple of days. YOu did a terrific job, already I want to eat at that homey restaurant you start off with.
Response: Wow, that got there fast!
Have fun reading, hope you don't get too frustrated with my handwriting, spelling and ability to totally mess up a sentence. 😉
Comment: Thank you. Cute card. I think every one will be a little different The wooden thingy....I did the same thing. I just used that little part. I can't wait to see everyone's arrangement. I loved your cutout "hello" I copied mine and made it itty-bitty. I also managed to use everything.
Response: Your welcome, my partner managed to use pretty much all of that wooden thing! Will really be interesting when we get to see all of them.
Comment: Oh, my goodness, Dorothy, what a beautiful journal page! I love the layering and embellishements AND your lovely note. Thanks so much. When I drink the tea, I'll be thinking of what a joy Swap-bot is...such nice creative, artistic people!
Response: Your welcome Nancy, so glad you are pleased with it.
Comment: Thank you for the lovely envelope and ephemera! Including the vintage pocket and goodies was so such a sweet surprise. I also loved the aquatic envelope. Your thoughtfulness was totally above and beyond.
Comment: Your envelope arrived safely and Oh so many goodies!! I love all the vintagy images and can't wait to use them! And yes, there are a couple that might be challenging to use but I can always make envelope art with them if I can't think of an art project! Thank you so much, my Oregon sister from the south! (P.S. I do have to use my reading glasses for the tinier images!!)
Response: glad to hear they arrived safely, i was wondering about those that I taped on the outside, arugg I always seem to leave "something " out of my envelopes. Have fun with the challenges!
Comment: Dorothy! Oh my goodness! This is an amazing (and amazingly beautiful) vintage pocket chock-full of gorgeous goodies! I love that you put your own spin on the swap, and I'm thrilled to have been the recipient. Now...back to peeking in all the envelopes...
Response: Hope you have fun trying to use the goodies. Glad you liked the envelope even though it was not quite the way it was suppose to be :}
Comment: Dorothy, I love this journal page so MUCH! Of course, the crystal chandelier is my favorite part...oh, to live in one of those beautiful homes in Portland Heights! The suggestions of early spring...the nest with eggs, the beautiful cherry blossom...gorgeous! ETA: Yes! The crystal chandelier made it through the rigors of the USPS completely intact, in exactly the place you put it. Gosh, how I love to receive extras like that...you had a very generous swap partner!
Response: I am wondering if the chandelier made it through the mail, did it stay put.? I got that earring in one of my first swaps, knew then that I was going to use it one day as a chandelier. Glad you liked it, I was happy with that one too!
Response: Well I have no idea what happened to it, I did indeed mail it out, I quite remember because I DID almost miss you not realizing that we had two partners. I will definitely get a new envelope out in Monday's mail. Would like to do it today but I am going to have to go on a scavenger hunt! 😜
Comment: Thanks so much for the letter, love how you 'made' stationery! I do hope you get to see Glacier, it is fantastic. I suggest you go as close to the height of summer or a little later, or you won't be able to drive through the whole park because they will still be clearing snow! I took my parents in early June a few years ago and the pass was still covered in snow. Thanks for the lovely letter!
Response: Your welcome, Desirae. And thank you for the travel advice, I was thinking of beating the tourist traffic and going in May, but maybe I will wait for my June company to leave and go in July!
Comment: I was checking some of my swaps and realized I had not rated you for this one. I am so sorry. It is a beautiful collage with so many pretty elements. And your envelope was just amazing. Thank you so much!
Response: Oh, your welcome, I too have been guilty of letting a swap go a bit before rating 😱 so I have no right to be upset. Happy swapping.
Comment: I absolutely love everything you sent! I can tell you put a lot of love <3 and creativity into both the Love Journal and the special gift that you made me. It is a favorite swap I've received, and the treats were yummy. I feel like I know you so well, we have a lot in common actually :-)
Response: your very welcome, so glad you are happy with your gift. I had a lot of fun doing this swap.
Comment: You really know how to please a partner - random or not! I loved everything you put in the envelope - the tea, the postcard, the beautiful notecard, the washi tape, and the little scenic cards about Oregon! I especially liked the one about Crater Lake - I have been there and we drove around it. I wished I could have stayed longer, but we had people to see and a wedding to attend! Thanks again for a bang-up swap!
Comment: First off I have to say Dorothy you have the most beautiful envelope ever! Oh my goodness your Journal Page is absolutely Gorgeous!!!! I love the images and those tiny letters you made are just amazing. I also love those cute pink corners and where did you find those? I appreciate how much effort you put into this swap and your attention to all the details is just impeccable. Thank you so much and I am so glad to have this JP in my collection.💕ðŸ’💕ðŸ’
Response: Oh may, thank you very much for all the gushing. And to think I didn't think it was good enough to send. Just kinda seemed unfinished to me.
Not sure why. If I remember right the envelope was just a napkin mod podged on . And the corner stickers I am afraid we're just something I found in my stash, haven't a clue were I got them. Well I am very happy to hear you are happy with the page. Happy swapping
Comment: Thanks for a wonderful selection, and extras, too! Loved the idea of slipping the washi samples into baseball card protectors. I'd never been able to figure out how to keep them spread out in an envelope. Problem solved!
Response: Your welcome, I got a whole stack of those card protectors at a thrift shop and have found them useful for a few things. Does work GREAT for swiping washi.
Comment: Hi Dorothy, Yeah...thw luck of the draw to get my name again. Guess the assignments are computerized. Received your tag flip.and I'm loving it. Lots if fun goodies. I especially enjoyed all of the quotes you used! Another thing I want to ask you about...how did you make those 2 large stickers, one has a birds nest and the other one bird eggs, wondering what paper you used and if the background was made with sticker paper? Thanks again for everuthing!
Response: Your welcome. I thought that was an interesting swap - I don't know why but I kinda got stuck with it for awhile then it all finally came together?
Comment: Dear DorothyH,
WOW! And many, many thanks!! â¤ï¸ðŸ’•â¤ï¸ðŸ’•â¤ï¸. You are my Detash Heroine!
It will take me a while to start on the dresses, as i do them marathon style, and I have a few other projects first. I intend to send you pictures of the sundresses.
Beautiful banana paper. Believe it or not, I too have made paper from banana peels. Friends froze and saved them for me. It is an involved process that is more suited to my old lab than my home!
And the trims! And boxes!
I am in awe of your generosity.
Again, many thanks. I am very happy 😊.
Response: So glad you are happy with everything, happy to know it will all be put to good use and yes I would love to see the dresses you make.
Comment: All I can say is wow!! This is the most amazing junk journal ever! What a fantastic work of art, I can't wait to start filling it with images of Halloweens past and future! Thanks for such a fantastic swap!
Response: Oh I am so glad you like it, I had so much fun making that journal. Enjoy!
Comment: I love love love this book. The way you put it together and wrapped it up into a little package was awesome too. I will PM you.
Response: So glad you like it, wasn't sure if it was going to be a hit or not. I like wrapping some of the swaps - it's kinda like presentation when it comes to food - the better it looks the better it taste. With the swaps it just seems a little more special if it's wrapped like a gift. Hope you make good use of it.
Comment: Hi Dorothy!
It was a pleasure to read your letter. I hope I'm not wrong but was the napkin with the colored stripes your least favorite? I have uses for all the napkins. Thank you very much and I hope you have a great year!!!
Response: Yup, you guessed it. Glad you have uses for all of them. Have fun making beautiful things.
Comment: Hi Dorothy, Yay! Loved your unique packaging! OMG, I'm crazy about the Christmas journal you made for me😠Do you have a cinch machine to put in that metal binding? I'm totally fascinated by it. I love all the festive ribbons, pockets, tucks, the 3-D effects...im just awe-struck by how fun and creative it is ! Thank you so much! It's a perfect place to record memories. I've paged through it many times and each time I find something new to love about it. The attention to detail is so very inspiring! Thanks Again♥Merry Christmas🎄
Response: oh great, so glad you like it, I had a lot of fun with it. almost wanted to keep it, just gunna have to make myself one i guess. yup got the cinch machine on amazon a couple years ago = at the time very reasonable. Merry, Merry Christmas.
Comment: What lovely soft washi colors, Dorothy! Thanks so much! Yes, Friendsville is a sweet little town. I live on the outskirts of the cuteness. Hope you enjoy your trip to Nashville. Sorry ahead of time about the traffic.
Response: Arugggg, thanks for the warning about the traffic.
Comment: Dorothy, thank you so very much for the gorgeous Journal Page...really nice and I love it, both sides! Great collage work! Love every little beautiful detail.
Response: Oh good, so glad you like it. I really liked it too, was hard to give it away!
This was my first swap like this, when I started I thought gezzzz this is too small, but I really like the size. Just right .
Comment: Dorothy, I am sorry for the late rating...I had computer problems (dreadful, really). I just love your beautiful prayer flag journal page (especially the prayer flag!)...it's just lovely. I love all the special "Dorothy" touches! Loved your long note...and to answer your question, I was named after my father (Donald). My mother thought it would be oh-so-cute, but I've struggled my whole life with being called "Donna", "Donut", and so forth. One boy ruined my sophomore high school yearbook with this witty saying: Aleuetta, Donetta wet her bed-a. I wanted to kill him!
Response: I have found that NO matter what your name is, boys will fine a way to make fun of you. I was called Dorky for many, many years!
Comment: Thank you so much for your lovely journal. I really enjoyed it! I hope they are able to get the wildfires put out soon, my heart was breaking when I saw some of the pictures and videos of the fires and when they were talking about how long it'd been since everyone had breathed non smokey air. :( I'm sorry y'all ended up sick on your trip, that's a bummer!!
Response: Your welcome. I do believe all the fires are out here, not 100% about California.ðŸ™
Comment: ♥ I did indeed enjoy the strawberry matcha. I have not had flavored matcha before so this was a treat. I am saving the tea flower for Thanksgiving when I visit my son and his family. They have a glass teapot we can all enjoy watching the tea "bloom" in. Thanks for joining my swap and making it such fun.
Response: Your welcome, enjoy your thanksgiving tea!ðŸðŸ‚
Comment: 1000 hearts to you. OMG ,I LOVED your swap. Your creativity & thoughtfulness are so greatly appreciated. :):) The buttons you made were awesome & they totally made my day!! The little Guy Fawke"s is so cute I wouldn"t be able to burn him. Lol
The candy is always loved here. I have not tried those jelly belly flavors before , & no I did not find any bad flavors. Loved them all. Lol The tombstones were also so awesome. I just loved it all. I would have never thought to do the holidays like you. So awesome!! Thank you so much for an awesome swap! Best holiday month I have had all year. Loved it!! :):)

Happy swapping. DorothyH

The sea glass was a great surprise, it is perfect for the big project that I'm working on. So many other wonderful items in my box. You Rock! Thank You
Response: 🤗 your so welcome! Give buddy a pat from meðŸ±
Comment: This was the happiest of happy mail. I opened the cornucopia of candy and cookies and am saving the rest for their Holiday in October.
A coworker and I love the gum eyeballs and I was on my last Burts Bees so this came just in time. Thank you very much for going above and beyond.
Response: Your welcome, hope you have fun with everything, happy October!ðŸ‚🎃ðŸðŸŒ›

Response: Do I want cookies 🙀 That is almost a silly question😜 I will make a deal with ya, I have to send out some cookies on Monday ( I always choose Monday to mail cookies so they can be the freshest when they arrive) I will send you some of mine if you send some of yours😋 I would like a copy of your recipe too, cause I have not found a great on yet. Glad you liked everything.
Comment: WOOOOWWWW!!!! The box you made is super amazing!!! I love, love, love it! AND the lacey, witchy bunting is beautiful! The day of the dead pumpkin is adorable! I love pumpkin seeds & it's so nice to get a treat I can eat :D I didn't have any Halloween brads & I will definitely use the treat bags too! You are so creative & super talented! I will treasure these!!! Thank you SO MUCH! <3 <3 <3
Response: Your very welcome 👻. I don't know why but I love the phrase on the box, funny - my husband doesn't "get it".
Have a happy Halloween!
Comment: "The check is in the mail..." Hahaha! Yes, I laughed out loud :). Thank you for all the lovely crafty bits and for making me smile. The pocket page was so much fun to go through. Have a wonderful week! 🌷🌷🌷
Response: So glad to hear you got a laugh out loud and a smile out of the check, that is what I was hoping for 😜
Comment: .Edit 9/1/2017
Oh my gosh I received a awesome journal that was AWESOME!!! You went way above and beyond by sending another well filled out journal. I love it and will treasure all the hard work you put into making it for me. Thanks so much!!
At first I was very upset with receiving a journal with minimal item on each page as I was hoping for a few entries at least and etc. I have done MANY of the magpie journals in the past and this was a first for me... So saying that I wasn't going to rate but as I talked to host and reread the instructions you did what it said.. As host said everyone does this different. I prefer a journal that is written in and if full of magpie items.
. Loved the magpie journal you made for me and resent! It is beautiful and very well made! Loved the way you used other items in the journal. This journal was beautiful and very well made. So many thanks! Karen
Response: Oh dear, that will not do, can't have you disappointed. Will make a new one for you. Gotta warn ya though, my hand writing is horrible.
Comment: Dorothy, you clever girl, you. I love the little packet full of goodies you made. I'm not even sure what to call it. And I love what you filled it with. Thanks for reading my profile. Wish I could give you more hearts. oxoxoxoxox
Response: Your welcome, I guess I would just call it a pocket page, I use them in books I make. Enjoy!
Comment: I am so sorry for the delay in rating you, I had an unexpected death in the family and the past week has been the most difficult week of my life.
But I really loved reading the nice long letter you wrote me and all the peacock things you made, espechially the paperclips--they are so adorable and they held up well in the mail! Really glad to have you as a partner in this swap. Have a great day!
Response: Oh Dear, I am so sorry, hope things get easier for you soon. Hope what I sent was able to lift your spirits. Take care
Comment: OH HAPPY DAY! You really did me make me bogie with the skeletons on the envelope! I am amazed at the wonderful pocket you constructed out of a book page and then all the goodness in it that leaped right from my profile. You were very nice to personalize it and go beyond happy to HAPPY mail! I so appreciate all of it right down to the tiny peace sign on the saftey pin-you are a wonderful swapper-hope you are doing happy dance now too that all 10 are done. Thank You So much for sharing with me!
Comment: Dorothy, LOVED your "long" letter.... the seal was pulverized into very small pieces. I really enjoyed the coupons and plan to use one tonight. Hopefully my husband will be as fond of the coupons too. One of the best letters that I have gotten on SWAP-BOT.... THANK YOU !!!
Response: Ahhh man! I just bought 10 darn sticks of that sealing wax 😡 Glad you liked the coupons, have fuuuuun
Comment: Dorothy . . . wow! I'm amazed at the beautiful parcel you put together for this swap. If you did this for all 10 partners you must have worked days and days! I'm in love with the beautifully drawn corvids on the envelope....crows are my absolute favorite bird because they are so SMART! And all the sweet goodies inside--individually wrapped--what an amazingly fun package it was for me to open. You really REALLY made me so happy! Thank you! Forget to mention how much I loved that neat sewn pocket trimmed with washi tape and hearts. I'm just overwhelmed each time I look at how much work you put it on this envie--tailor made for . . . me!
Response: You are welcome, I had too much fun doing each and everyone of these😋

My fav colors =} I wish I could give you 10 hearts! oh my goodness... the die cut teacups are so lovely, OH1 The china pieces with the beautiful dainty flowers are perfect for a jewelry project I want to do. I love the generous amount of gorgeous turquoise washi tapes and the cute little Mama Says quotes are adorable. Everything you did was so thoughtful! I cant wait to use thes lil treasures in my art journal. I plan to include the entire sewn envie in it as well! You totally outdid yourself! love. love. love! =0)
Response: So glad everything made you happy. That's just what I set out to do. I had so much fun doing each one that I am having a hard time NOT hitting that join button for the next swap in August, but I am afraid I will be too busy with summer traveling, hopefully I can do another as winter sets in, gives me more time to think of a new idea!
Comment: What a GREAT swap! Thank you so much for the amazing items. I love the pockets you made - do you know how I feel about sewn paper??!!! Love the long rectangle envelope and all the goodies inside. Did you make it too? Thanks for the tickets, Mama always said quotes, journal cards and cute shaped clips.
Wonderful stuff! ps: Little black dresses will be mailed in a couple days - so happy to hear you liked them!
Response: Oh you are quite welcome, I think I remember you saying in your profile that you liked sewn paper, ( figured I would have at least one person happy with the idea) I've just gotton into it myself, which is why I made ALL those little pocket pages. But I
STILL have the same problems with paper sewing as fabric sewing. I get SO frustrated when the thread breaks or the bobbin runs out arugggg.
Comment: thank you so much for the fun swap! the red/ black theme, the special teas, the blossom one is very cool, love the tiny vellum envies, brads, charms ,love the tissue paper!! and the fun box. everything is awesome
Response: Your welcome, glad you liked it. I guess I am not quite doing them correctly From what I heard.
Comment: Hello Dorothy,
Thank for your effort on the mini pocket letter. Is this your first pocket letter? I appreciate the items you sent me in each pocket. I appreciate that you decorated the outside on the plastic. Just a helpful comment--the decorating usually goes inside each pocket on paper.
Response: Yes it was my first pocket letter and I am sorry to say that of the three mini pockets I was suppose to make you were the first on the list. I think the last one was my favorite. I did a full size one this week and decided I much prefer the small ones.
Comment: OMG Dorothy, I LOVE the dog tags you made, both sets! The stamps you used on the 1st set are so cute and I'm crazy about the dimension on the 2nd. I haven't made mine yet, so you gave me some good ideas! Using the shells & cheese box was brilliant. I have been swapping for quite awhile and have never seen anything but envelopes. It sure took me by surprise. Such a fun concept!
Response: Glad you liked the tags . Sure wish there was a way to see everyone's tags, I'd like to see what the others looked like.
Comment: I love your bucket list! You live in my favorite part of the country! Your summer bucket list sounds amazing. I also love your list of countries. I went to Ireland when I was 16 and it's incredible. The Cliffs of Moher are one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in the world.
Take care and thanks for the inspiring list!
Response: Your welcome Heidi, lucky you to have been able to go to Ireland at such a young age! Any time you are in our neck of the woods will be glad to let you know what to do and see
Comment: Thank you for a nice letter and story. What a treat to have another Oregonian here. I'm sooo jealous of your bit of country...sounds like my Grandparents' old place in Crooked River, stunning views of 12 peaks there. Also enjoyed the nicely decorated envelope. Too bad the whole first page was crumpled up.
Comment: Oh My Goodness! These are absolutely beautiful!!!! There's no way to pick a favorite from wonderful, wonderful, and wonderful! Thank you so much! I wish we could give a million hearts because you would get every one of them.
Response: Oh Thanks so much Diane for the rave review! I wasn't sure they were all considered Embellishments, I have already reproduced the large angle tag twice for two different books. Hope you can use all at least most of them. Happy swapping!
Comment: You know how sometimes you get something in the mail and you just sense that it's going to be special? Yeah, that was this. I really just loved everything in my package, Dorothy. Great attention to detail...love how you wrapped and packaged everything. Especially loved the obituaries ;-)
Response: Oh my! Thanks for the great comments, glad you are happy with everything. I had to send the obituaries, they are from an old PORTLAND newspaper. I laminated them because the paper was so brittle.
Comment: Sorry to hear your trip got cancelled. Hope you did have a good time at the Wildlife Safari Park.ðŸ˜Loved your holder for the pennies, such a great presentation idea. I feel special that I received two pressed pennies. Thanks so much for sharing and being a great partner!â¤ðŸ’Œâ¤
Response: Your welcome 😉 I really enjoy trying to dress up the sends, glad you liked the little presentation!
Comment: THANK YOU! First, thank you so much for the tea! Yes! I love tea and I can't wait to try what you sent! Now, the book! What an interesting book and what exceptional things you found around where you live!
I'm going to send you a private message!
Thank you so much!
Response: So glad you enjoyed the book, wasn't too hard to fine interesting things in this area, as long as you are a nature lover. That is one of my favorite teas, I like it in the mornings with fresh baked scones!
