Comment: Haha... Same here! I am sitting in my craft room currently... And being so overwhelmed with the mess that I want to throw everything away but at the same time still want to buy everything at hobby lobby! So much crafting to do, so little time...
Comment: Warm Winter Greetings,
Ok, I must lead a Non-weird Swapbot life compared to this swap answer. It's all funs and games until the pervs come out of the closet! He sounded like a perv and you did the right thing telling him not to contact you anymore. I think he might have been trolling a partner in the wrong sense of the word! Kudos to you.
Response: Yeah, I wasn't too pleased, but I understand all kinds make up a site! Thankfully that was pretty much the only bad experience on here, so I am really happy swapping in general with the people here. Happy 2018!
Comment: That's great that your son has made friends already in your new area, Julie! I'm so happy for him, and for you/your family! Where did you move from and to? Across the country seems like it would be HUGE. Was it a job that precipitated the move? I'd love to hear more! :-) Thank you for sharing!
Response: Thanks so much, Karen! I am really happy for him too. We moved to Ottawa, Ontario from Edmonton, Alberta for my husband's job. So far we are really liking it here! Thanks for your interest. :)
Comment: Julie, what a fantastic surprise to come home to! Thank you so much for all the goodies. I love the notebook, the washi tape, butterfly stickers and notecard and of course, your decorated envelope. Happy swapping, Sandy
Response: So glad you liked it! Hope you have a wonderful day!
Comment: Super late rating here, sorry Julie. To be completely honest I only just opened a bunch of mail from last year. I enjoyed reading through your lists. I had pulled pork done in the slow cooker for dinner this week! Love a good pavlova too with berries and passion fruit - yum!
Response: Oh yay! I am glad you got them. No worries on the late rating - sometimes life happens. Have a good day!
Comment: Anaiah says thank you to Jack for the drawings. When it came to the "creepy girl putting on makeup" her brothers said " I didn't know he already knew you". Kids!
She will write back soon! Have a great day!
Response: Hahaha, kids are the best. You have a great day too. :)
Comment: Really love your Postcard. It is the first one ever of this type and it is GREAT!!! Thank you so much for a fantastic swap! :-)
PS: thank you for honor Saint Valentine's It is a special day because it was my dearest late mom's birthday!
Response: Oh, awesome! I am so glad you liked it. I am sorry for the loss of your mother though.
Comment: Hi Julie, thank you so much for the lovely postcard. I have heard of the story, but thats such a long time ago. I love that your family grows caterpillars into butterflies. Butterflies are my favourite.
Response: You are very welcome! I am ordering the butterflies for this spring today! :)
Comment: What a wonderful memory. I do believe that talking to other people about their travels is always a lot of fun and I really think Jack had an awesome 7th birthday. Thanks for sharing this moment with me.
Comment: Thank you very much for a beautiful card!
I had to google the illustrator and Eric Carle has a nice style :)
For Christmas we will probably just make some of our favourite Christmas cuisine(big ham and casseroles for dinner, rice porridge and kissel for dessert) and share few presents with family/friends. I most likely can't afford to go see my father and brothers this year as I couldn't last year either. So it will be just me and my partner and her father at our house. Last year we had a Christmas tree but it's too much hassle so I think we'll pass it.
Comment: Thank you for the neat postcard for The Mixed-Up Chameleon, Julie. How old is your son? I don't think I've read this book; I'll have to see if my library has it! I'm always looking for fun and good children's books to send to my nieces, who are four. :-) Thank you for sharing!
Comment: First of all I'm very dissapointed. I messaged you right after I got your pl:
thank you for your pl, but it isn't really a pl and doesn't meet the requirements.
Each pocket should hold a decorated card which matches the theme and a little goodie behind the card.
You mashed it up and mostly used the goodies as decoration.
The goodies are supposed to be removed and used by the reciever, which in this case would destroy your pl itself.
Another thing is, some of your cards are unevenly cut and smudged. Take your time when creating and work thoroughly, You should have fun while creating and not be stressed. :-)
If you are a beginner, use google for examples. I can highly recommend it, it helped me a lot. :-)
You answered me and said you would make a new one, if I wanted. As I'm a big HP-Fan, I said yes and suggested you didn't need to send any goodies because I just wanted the decorated cards. A few weeks later I asked about it and you said you needed more time. After another few weeks I asked again and you apologized for not telling me, that it still isn't ready. We have October now and I still haven't recieved the replacement from you and I must say, I'm tired of asking again and again! I originally told you I would give you a 5 but as your original pocket letter does not meet the requirements and I still got no replacement, I'm rating a 3. :/ After all this time I just want a clean break, so I don't want you to send it anymore!
update (November 14th): I was unsure how to react when I received a gift and a very nice letter with an apology from you today.
I'm rating you a 5 now because I believe your words that you have learned your lesson and I don't want you to not to be able to take part in other swaps than PL swaps because of your rating. And I've seen other users accept such replacements when the participant wasn't able to fullfill the swap.
So, thank you and happy swapping.
Response: This is a frustrating comment and undeserved rating. .
Hereis my original reply to your feedback. Hi Moni, Thanks very much for your feedback. This was the first pocket letter I have created. I didn't realize that the goodies could not be combined with the actual decoration as the things I had on hand were bought or kept specifically for that purpose.I thought I had fulfilled the requirments of the swap, since there wasn't any direction saying we couldn't do that. I have received two pocket letters and both contained pockets with goodies that would take away from the designs if I used the goody. I really didn't think anything of it, and did work very hard on it. I certainly didn't mean for anything to be smudged.
That being said, I really don't want to leave you disappointed, and perhaps pocket letters just aren't something I am good at. Is there a way to send you something else and maintain my standing? I don't want to lose a good rating, but I honestly felt good about the pocket letter I had sent originally. I don't want to send another if I will disappoint you again. I could send something else if you would like. What can we do here so I can maintain good standing for this swap and you will be happy with what I am sending? Sorry for the delay in reply, also. I just got back from holiday.
In this,I did not offer to make you a pocket letter, you asked for one without goodies after I specifically said that I worked hard on the preceding one and it was similar to others I had received. I was honest with you and said I was unsure and stressed about this and you assured me you didn't mind waiting. I also rechecked the requirements of the original swap and it simply stated that each pocket be decorated on the front and each pocket contain a goodie. This requirement was met. There was no other requirement stating that goodies need to be put behind the cards, nor that the goodies could not be part of the decoration, only that the decorations not impede the opening to the pockets. Despite that I did offer to give you something that you did like and you mentioned several times that you would give me as much time as I needed to create something. I already told you pocket letters might not be my forte since you didn't like the first letter I was proud to send. You said if I didn't send anything you would just post the original feedback and a 5 rating.
Yes, it was a long time and many times I told you I was stressed, life was getting in the way and was trying to get it finished to your standards. I did ask you to post the rating and you refused saying that you didn't mind waiting. Nevertheless, I did create some cards. In our last email I sent you pictures, and you told me to fix them more and cover more parts of the cards. You set no deadline onto when they should be received. I have been doing just that in my free time, which is very little. It is very unfair of you to give me a 3 when I have met the requirements of the swap, but it wasn't to your tastes and you would have originally gave me a 5. We have been in contact and since your extra is later than an unspecified deadline, you are going to hurt my standing for future swaps? That is really unethical. If you don't want the cards, that's fine. I will stop working on them. I still think your treatment in this case is really unfair. Update Nov.14: Thank you for changing your rating.. That gift was always intended for you as a thanks for your patience, and I do apologize that what I was working took too long for you. I did learn my lesson, and will just take the ratings I am offered regardless of difference in opinion. I stand by my original comments that I do believe I completed the swap and why, but am very thankful you changed my rating, and I am glad you liked the gift. Cheers to you, and new beginnings.
Comment: Julie, thank you for the wonderful happy mail! I love everything you sent! I always love receiving swaps from Canada :) Aww, your sons are so sweet!!! And even sweeter for lending you their stegosaurus stamp to decorate the envelope with! ;) Please tell them thank you! That's awesome that they like to do crafts and happy mail with you, how much fun! I love crafting with kids. Jurassic Park is one of my favourite movies...is it one of theirs too? Hope you're enjoying autumn. It's spring here in Aus, but so far it's felt more like winter still. Hopefull that some sunny, warmer days are to come! Best wishes to you and your family, and happy swapping :) P.S. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the late rating.
Comment: Julie, your Christmas greeting is a real treat; the envelope is so pretty with the postage stamp, the air mail sticker, and the washi tape. There was no mistaking it for a bill or credit card application, ha ha. Your sweet message of looking forward to your family's literary advent makes me happy. Merry Early Christmas to you, dear!
Comment: I loved your personal note in the card. It made me feel like I was coming along for the ride as you prepare for the holidays. I love your advent book tradition. What a good example you set for them.
Comment: Thank you for the lovely quotes, I resonate with so many at this moment in my life. I absolutely love the butterfly card too. And I too love getting swaps from fellow Canuks!! I collect Canadian stamps, so it's great to receive the Canadian stamps for my collection 😊
Comment: Hello Canadian Chick! Thanks for sharing your life chronicles.Too bad for the few mishaps in September, at least they are repairable! Anyways, looks like you've a great family unit! All the best from Toronto. Enjoy the snow to come, eh? Diane
Comment: Hi Julie!
Loved receiving your thoughtful card and hearing about your grandmother. She is a kindred spirit! I am sure she is pleased that you are honoring her legacy. I look forward to using the swap tag, washi tape, and tea!
Comment: Thanks for the nice note and all the extras! My dog Gulliver is a mixed breed, a lot like a border collie. I agree that dogs are the best! No matter how bad a day I am having, seeing my Gully's cute face makes me happy! He's always glad to see me when I get home. Such a special feeling!
Comment: Long live Regina Spektor and Sia! :) Fall in Texas is like an extended beginning of fall up north — warm and humid. It's not my favorite, but that gives me trips up north to look forward to! ;) Thank you for the extras — love the washi tape!!!
Comment: Thank you for the butterfly note card, nice washi samples and tea bag. Yes Eastern Orthodox wedding ceremonies are long and full of tradition. I am aware Ukrainian community is more common in Western Canada, as the first settlers arrived in the farming communities.
Comment: Thanks so much for the note and the tea - I have a bit of a cold at the moment and am drinking a lot of tea, so I'm looking forward to trying this one this week. We went on our cruise about 4 years ago, I'm quite slow in getting the scrapbook together, but hopefully I can get it finished soon. We loved the cruise, my favourite part was swimming with turtles in Bahamas - I love turtles. I hope you had a wonderful trip!
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful postcard from the Bahamas, Julie! That's neat that you got it on a cruise. I love cruising, too, though my third and most recent was almost 15 years ago. Thank you for sharing!!! :-)
Response: Sorry for this response being late! Thank you for the lovely rating and the heart! :)
Comment: What a spectacular view of Moraine Lake in the Canadian Rockies! Sadly, the postcard must have been caught in a cloud burst. The message you wrote was completely washed away leaving only your swap name at the bottom so I wasn't able to read what I am sure was a lovely note. Thankfully, the address side was untouched or it may not have arrived at all. Thank you for a good swap.
Response: Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that my message was lost. Glad that the picture reached you all right though and that you enjoyed. Have a lovely day!
Comment: Great package/album! Thank you so much for sharing your summer with me! I will write more shortly :) -- Looks like you had a lot of fun! The "homegrown butterflies" is just awesome! :) Looks like you had a wonderful vacation, I"m happy to see some pictures from this corner of the world, as its rather rare to see! :) Envy you for the carrots and cucumbers. Mine didnt grow at all or died back due to the weather conditions!
Response: I am so glad that you liked it. Yes, the homegrown butterflies are a favourite part of every summer we have done it! Sorry you didn't have as good luck with your garden. Have a great day and I'll see you in future swaps! :)
Comment: I wish i could give you many many hearts for this wonderful surprise! this made my day! I cant wait to wear my Halloween socks to school! my students will get a kick out of them! The whole package was so wonderful! Thank you!
Response: Oh yay! Halloween is big in our house so I always get lots of stuff...and then I couldn't pick and choose so I sent it all, haha! :) I am so glad that you liked everything. Have a great day!
Comment: thank you for the beautiful postcard! I love it and think I will hang it in my craft space :) so thoughtful with the yellow too! totally made my day when I got the mail today :)
Response: I am so glad that you got it! I also wanted to thank you for the birthday postcard you sent me for WIYM birthday wishes. I completely forgot that you could write comments on the wall so I didn't think I could rate you. But it was one of the first cards I got and it made my day! So we're even, haha! Have a great day!
Comment: Thank you so much for both of the birthday cards and extra goodies you sent me! The little owls note card is so cute and the selection of washi is great!. I've had such a lovely day today, the best birthday I've had in years so thank you for being part of that!
Response: I am so happy you liked both of the cards and that your birthday was so great! My pleasure to send wishes to a fellow birthday buddy! Take care. :)
Comment: I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Mr. Percy! What a sweetheart he is. I kept scolding Pickle for licking the envelope that you sent LOL and then when I opened it I saw why! That dog has an amazing sniffer :) Thank you so much for thinking of my babies. They were going to town squeaking the heck out of those toys! And they very much enjoyed the treats as well. You are too sweet!!!
Response: Haha, I am glad Pickle liked it. I got a few strange looks at the post office for my squeaky package. Have a great day!!
Comment: Today I received the Written & stamped card, it's beautiful! It is my personal favourite childhood book as well, I must've read/heard it over a 100 times.
It's funny how they didn't arrive at the same time, but it makes me look forward for the rest even more!
Update: I've received the rest on Tuesday, wihch is technically the next day for mail delivery here. Thanks for the cute cards, I absolutely love them :)
Response: Thanks so much for the ratings for both of the cards. I love what you sent too. Anytime you are up for a private swap, just let me know! Have a great day!

Comment: Dear Julie, If I could give you more hearts, I would give you so much more! I really loved your package, and all the owl stuff is amazing! It really made my day :) You really made me happy, so thank you for that!
Comment: Thank you for the quick send. "Strange Fruit" is a terribly depressing song, I had a student analyze its lyrics in my poetry class. Never realized how chauvinistic "If You Want to be Happy" is! It just sounded fun but I could never understand the lyrics before.
Response: It is a very depressing song. Glad you liked this list!
Comment: Thank you for the postcard and poetry. Julie went out of her way to make sure that I got a poetry postcard. The 1st postcard took the long way by Pony Express. :) She sent a 2nd postcard to compensate for the slow card. She definitely deserved the heart!
Response: I am so glad you liked both poems! Have a great day. :)
Comment: Dear Julie thank you so much for the gift Being from Greece I was glad to see the note cards with the ocean :) I also love mint We use it a lot in cooking The ribbon is lovely and I shall treasure the post card I have never seen one like it .I received 6 swaps today My husband says "allI get are bills "lol

Response: Glad you liked the postcard! It is a really pretty place! Take care, and thanks for the rating and the heart! :)
Comment: Julie, I'm humbled that you would send me some of the notecards you received from your grandmother. The knowledge of her prayers brought tears to my eyes and filled my heart with joy. I will love using them and joining my prayers with those of your grandmother!
Response: I am so glad. Thank you for putting them to good use. :)
